WARRANTY
LARZEP, S.A. guarantees its products against all design and manufacturing defects for two years from the date of
purchase.Thisguaranteedoesnotincludetheordinarywearofbothmetaland non‐metalparts,abuse,usingthe
equipmentbeyonditsratedcapacityandanywearordamageincurredasaresultofusingahydraulicfluidwhichis
notrecommendedbyLARZEP,S.A.
Pleasenotethatiftheequipmentisdisassembledorservicedbyanyoneotherthananauthorizedservicedealeror
byLARZEP,S.A.,thisguaranteeisrenderednullandvoid.
Intheeventofawarrantyclaim,returntheequipmenttoLARZEP,S.A.ortheauthorizeddealerwhichsoldyouthe
hydraulic equipment. LARZEP, S.A. will repair or replace the faulty equipment, whichever is deemed most
appropriate. LARZEP, S.A. shall not be held liable for any consequential damages or losses, which may occur as a
resultoffaultyequipment.

BEFOREUSINGTHEEQUIPMENTANDESSENTIALSAFETYREQUIREMENTS
‐ ThisElectrictestpumpsHEP0020hasbeendesignedforpressurizingandtestinghydraulicsystemsandfor
pouringoperations.Thepumpcanworkwithcleanwater,watersolutionsandnon‐acidliquids,suchasantifreeze
liquids.
‐ Readtheinstructionmanualcarefullyandpractiseusingtheequipmentbeforeapplication.
‐ Alwaysuseprotectivegoggles,shoesandgloves.
‐ Allpumpsaretestedindividually.
‐ Donotmodifythepump(weldedparts,etc.).
‐ Usethehandlesonthepumpfortransportingthedevice.Donotusethehoseorpipe.
‐ Never exceed maximum working pressure of the pump. Ensure that all the equipment and accessories are
suitableforthemaximumworkingpressure.
‐ Neverturnonthepumpwhenthepumpisnotconnectedtotheplant.Donotpressurizethepumpwithoutbeing
connectedtoanitemtobepressurizedunlessablankingplugisfittedtotheoutletport.
‐ Nevertightenorloosenconnectionswhiletheyareunderpressure.
‐ Checkthattherearenodamagesonthepump.Iftherearewornordamagedpieces,replacethemimmediately.
‐ Respectelectricalsafetyrequirements:anyoperationmustbeperformedbyqualifiedpersonnel,onlywhenthe
machineisdisconnectedfrompower.Replaceanyelectricalcomponentsifdamaged.Keepdryanyelectricpart.
‐ Work always in a safe way. Respect general safety conditions. Before starting operation, check that the
installationiscorrect,theoperatorpositionissafeandtheworkingzoneisoutofboundstoallpersonnel.
‐ Inallcases,theoperatorshouldhavereceivedadequatetrainingregardingthehandlingofthedeviceandlogical
safetycriteriaassociatedwiththemovementofheavyloads.


ASSEMBLYANDOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
‐ The components are shipped unassembled to prevent breakage or unnecessary bulk during transport or the
stockageinwarehouse.Beforestartingoperations,checkifthepumphasbeenlabelledwithserialnumberand
technicaldata.Keeppackageforfurthertransportsorstockage.

Beforestartinganyoperation,cleanthetanktoeliminateanyresidueorwaste.
‐ Placetheequipmentonaflatandsolidarea.
‐ Assemblyallcomponents.Thepumpissuppliedwitha1.5metreshose,glycerinpressuregaugeø60andcontrol
valve.
‐ Beforeoperatingthepumpalwaysmakesurepipeconnectionsarecleanandfullytightenedup;allaccessories
mustbefittedcorrectlyandnot damaged: suction tube with nut and filter, pressure gauge and hose forhigh
pressure.Alwaysuseprotectivegoggles,shoesandgloves.
‐ Checkthesuctionfilterbeforeanytesting.
‐ Fillupthetankwithatleast9litresofcleanwaterandensurethesuctiontubeiscompletelysubmerged.
‐ Connectthepumptothesystemorequipmenttotestthroughahosewithoutusingtoohightorque.Makesure
thattheblackhandleofthecontrolvalveisclosed.
‐ Oillevelcheck:Thepumpistestedbeforethedeliverysoitiswithoil.Ifnecessary,orafter500workinghours,fill
uptheoiltankupto0.08litrelevelwithSAE30oil.
‐ Suction hose: Suction hose cannot have bendings and the filter have to be clean. Avoid air suction, it causes
pressureinstabilityandcouldmakedifficultthetestoperations.
‐ Suctiontank:Ensurethatinlethoseandbypasshosearenottooclosetoavoidturbulencesinsidethetank.
‐ Airaccumulator:Checkthepressureinsidetheairtankperiodically,airaccumulatormustbeatamax.5/6bar.
‐ Suctionhead:Keepamaximumsuctionheightbelow3metres.Avoidbendingorcrushinghosesand,ifpossible,
fillwithwater.
‐ Powerconnection:Beforeconnection,checkiftheelectricplantisaccordingtosafetyrequirementsandif itis
abletosupplyalltherequiredpower,andturnoffthepump.Donotconnectotherelectricchargesonthesame
socket.Whenusingextensioncords,ensurethatthesectionofthecableisappropriatefortheelectricitytoavoid
hightemperaturesanddissipation.
‐ Airblowing:Toavoidpressureoscillationduetoairinthesystem,itisnecessarytopurgetheaircircuittofillthe
systemcompletely.
Dependingontheapplicationchooseoneofthenextprocedures:
TESTHYDRAULICSYSTEMORPLANT
‐ Connectthecontrolvalvetothesystemtobetested.Fillthetankorconnectthesuctionpipetothelocalwater
network.Inthiscase,makesure that the drain pipe is placed so that the bypass liquid can be collected in a
containerwithenoughcapacity.Makesurethecontrolvalveisopen.
‐ Opentheblackcontrolvalveandtheregulatingvalve(blue)inthe'BYPASS'position,completelyopen.Thenstart
thepumpandholdthispositionuntilthesystemhasbeenprimed.
‐ Whenwaterflowstarts,movethebluevalvetothe'PRESS'position and turn the black handle to adjust the
workingpressure:clockwisetoincreaseit,counterclockwisetodecreaseit.Neverexceedthemaximumpressure
ofthepump.
‐ Oncethedesiredtestpressurehasbeenreached,closetheblackcontrolvalveandturnoffthepump.
‐ Tofinishthetest,opentheblackhandletoreleasethepressurefromthesystemandreturntheliquidtothetank.
‐ Duringthetest,thepumpcanbedisconnectedfromthecontrolvalve(closed)andstoredinadryandcleanplace.
Ensurethatalltheequipmentandaccessoriesaresuitableforthemaximumworkingpressure.

FILLINGANDPOURING
‐ Verifythattheliquidinthetankiscompatiblewiththecharacteristicsofthepump.
‐ Insert the suction and discharge pipes into the container to befilledorpoured.Highpressurepipeshouldbe
placedinthetankwhereliquidwillbepouredorconnecttothesystemtobefilled(i.e.solarpanels).
‐ Beforestaringthepump,movetheregulatingvalve(blue)tothe'BYPASS'position,completelyopen.
MAINTENANCE
‐ Toavoiddamagetothepump,cleanitafteritsuse.Forthat,runthepumpwithcleanwaterunderpressurefora
fewminutes.Thenemptythepumpandleaveitdryingforduringsomeminutes.
‐ Avoid frozen water inside the pump, it will damage the pump and the joints. In case of frost hazard, empty
completelythepumpfromwaterormixitwithanantifreezefluid.
‐ Suctionvalveandgaskets:Dirtyordamagedsealswillavoidthevalveclosingperfectly.Removethevalvecover
andcheckifthesealsareclean.
‐ Membranereplacement:Removetheheadandthemembrane.Cleaninternallywithdiesel.Carefullyassemblya
new membrane. Then, fill the pump with oil and rotate manually the shaft to discharge theair.Checkoil level
afterthisoperation.Closetheoiltankandchecktheoillevelwiththepumppressurized.
‐ Oilchange:Firstoilchangeshouldbedoneafterfirst500workinghours,andthenevery500workinghours.For
that,removetheoilcap,turnover the pump, and empty all the used oil. Then place the pump in its normal
positionandfilluptheoiltankuptothelevelwithSAE30oil.Warning:Ahigheroillevelwillcausehighpressures
andtensionsinsidethepumpandcandamagethepumphead.Then,startthemotorandrunitforafewminutes
withoutwater.Checktheoillevelagainandrefillitifnecessary.
‐ Periodicallychecktheconditionofthepipes,hoseandthefilter.
‐ Useoriginalsparepartsandaccessories.Repairoperationmustbeperformedalwaysbyqualifiedpersonnel.
‐ Ifthepumpisnotusedforalongtime,orinlowtemperatures countries, pump a little amount of no‐frost
solution into the pump. This will enlarge the life of the gaskets and avoid the freezing. Before re‐starting the
motor,ifnecessary,turnthevalvemanually.
TROUBLESHOOTING

‐ Motordoesnotstart:Checkelectricalconnections,thermicprotection,emergencystop switch and magneto
switchonthemachine.Checkdifferentialonthepowerline.
‐ Motorstopssuddenly:Thermicprotectionswitchedoffthepumpfortoohightemperature.Checkifvoltageis
correct.Wait10minutestore‐start.
‐ Motoroverheating:Checkmotorventilation,starterconditionsandoillevel.
‐ Pumpdoesnotturn:Checkif'BYPASS'valveisopenandcheckstartercapacitor.
‐ Pumpdoesnotreachthedesiredpressure:checkinorder:suctionfilter,airinthepump,pressurevalves,inlet
connections,seals.
‐ Pressure change continuously:checkthepresenceofairbubblesinthecircuit,checkthepresenceof dirt, the
filter,valvesandseals.
‐ Pressuredrop:Checkdirtyonfilterandvalves.Checkthegaskets.
‐ Noisy pump: Check air suctions. Clean and move the valve. Clean the filter. Check water temperature. Check
mechanicalparts,particularlyballbearings.
‐ Oilleaks:replaceoilgaskets.
‐ MotorHum: Turn off the motor immediately and verify if the pump is not blocked.Check ifthevoltageinthe
electricnetcorrespondswiththedatalabel.Rememberthatlongpowercordsmaycausevoltagelosses.Verify
voltageatthepumpplug.

