TECHNICAL INQUIRY
The lighting control system consists of electrical and electronic components which could cause
electrical shock if tampered with. Only individuals experienced with electrical and electronic
equipment should remove the panels or attempt to service this system.

WARRANTY
Subject to the terms of this paragraph, the supplier warrants its title to the products sold by it and
warrants to the Purchaser that its products are free of defects in workmanship or material and are in
conformity with applicable specifications and descriptions of the supplier. No claim shall be maintained
hereunder unless the facts giving rise to it are discovered within 16 months from the date of shipment
from the factory, or 12 months after initial energization of said equipment, with the one expiring first
given precedence, and written notice thereof given to the supplier within 30 days of discovery. The sole
and exclusive liability of the supplier, for Breach of Warranty shall be, at its option, to replace or repair
the product or part concerned F.O.B. its factory or such place as it may designate. The warranties stated
in this paragraph are exclusive of all other warranties, written or oral, statutory, expressed or implied,
none of which shall apply to the sale of the suppliers products hereunder.

Glossary of Terms
Gateway -
In a communication network, a network node equipped for interfacing with another network that uses
different protocols and in addition may use different physical layers.
Controller -
AV Equipment, computer or other third party device that connects to the gateway to control and
monitor an E-Flex lighting control system.
Command -
Message sent from the controller to the gateway.
Response -
Message sent from the E-Flex lighting control system to the controller thru the gateway as a result of a
command message. It can also be a direct response from the gateway as a result of a gateway specific
command.
Activity -
Status message sent from the E-Flex lighting control system to the controller thru the gateway as a
result of activity such as a preset being recalled.

Introduction
The EFNTWK (E-Flex Network) gateway provides an Ethernet connection to configure, control devices in
an E-Flex lighting system on the wired FlexNet link using third-party equipment, such as touch-screens,
universal remote controls and software applications.
The Ethernet connection can be used to control a system using the EFNTWK gateway protocol over
Telnet or when running the E-Flex Flextool System Configurator software on a PC for system
configuration and control over TCP/IP using a proprietary protocol.

Installation
Shipment Inspection
Check the shipment before beginning installation and confirm that it has arrived complete and
undamaged.
Check the shipping container for any physical damage. If there is any damage found, document
it to help with any claim against the shipper.
Check the contents of the shipping container against the packing list and ensure that the order is
complete. If there are any discrepancies with the contents of the shipment, contact Lehigh
customer service.
Mounting
For EFNTWK-PL, mount the panel to the wall using the four ¼” keyhole slots in the rear of the
enclosure. Suitable for indoor use only on a vertical surface.

Wiring
Input Power Wiring (EFNTWK-PL)
The EFNTWK-PL power supply operates at 120-277VAC. Use the following instructions to wire line
voltage to the unit.
Warning:
RISK OF DEATH OR ELECTRIC SHOCK! Before installing input power to the controller, make
sure upstream source of power is off via a circuit breaker.
1. Use 14 to 12 AWG conductors (depending on breaker rating) to feed the control power wiring. The
E-flex gateway draws less than .60A at 120V and less than .34A at 277V.
2. The unit power supply has a black (Hot) and white (Neutral) wire. Wire nut the Hot and Neutral of
the power feed to these wires as shown.
3. A stud is provided to land the ground wire.
FlexNet Link Wiring
FlexNet link interconnects up to 100 devices on a single network. Recommend Alpha 6455 if power and
data are run, Alpha 6454 (1.5 pairs) if no power is run. If necessary a shielded data cable along with
discrete power (18 to 12 AWG) can be used.
FlexNet Wiring
#24-22 AWG (data), 18-14 AWG (power) wires, strip length –¼ in., torque –1.7 lbs.
Cable distance is limited by data wire size and number of devices on a link segment. Using 22
AWG, the total distance is 1000 ft. (300m). Using 24 AWG data the total distance is 650 ft. with
100 devices.
