USB connectors

Connect USB-com atible devices, such as a USB keyboard, USB
mouse, USB storage device, or USB rinter.

• Charge USB-C com atible devices with the out ut voltage and
current of 5 V and 1.5 A. If the connected device su orts USB

De ending on many factors such as the rocessing ca ability of the host and eri heral devices, file
attributes, and other factors related to system configuration and o erating environments, the actual transfer
rate using the various USB connectors on this device will vary and will be slower than the data rate listed
below for each corres onding device.

Get started with yo r desktop
La nch an app
• Use the su er key (with the Windows logo) or o en the Activities menu on the to left and ty e in the
name of the a lication you want to launch.
• Click the "show a lication" menu (For the Fedora o erating system, you can see the menu after o ening
Activities menu) on the lower left and ty e in the name of the a lication you want to launch.
La nch settings
Select the system menu arrow on the to right and click on Settings.

• The Gnome deskto is installed by default and is designed to be sim le and easy to use. Details on using

Manage networks
Your com uter hel s you connect to the world through a wired or wireless network.
Connect to Wi-Fi networks
1. Click the system menu arrow on the to right. A list of available wireless networks is dis layed.

2. Select a network available for connection. Provide required information, if needed.
Airplane mode
When the Air lane mode is enabled, all wireless features are disabled.
To enable or disable the Air lane mode:
1. Use the system menu dro down (to right) and choose Settings.
2. Click the Wi-Fi o tion.
3. Turn on or turn off the Airplane mode switch.
Interact with yo r comp ter
Your com uter rovides you various ways to navigate the screen.
Use the camera
• Take ictures or record videos by using the Cheese a lication. The indicator next to the camera is on
when the camera is in use.
• If you use other a s that su ort hotogra hing, video chatting, and video conference, the camera starts
automatically when you enable the camera-required feature from the a .
Note: IR function is currently limited in Linux. Make sure the regular camera mode is selected if you see gray
lines.
Use the keyboard shortc ts
The s ecial keys on the keyboard hel you work more easily and effectively.

Use the TrackPoint pointing device
The TrackPoint ointing device enables you to erform all the functions of a traditional mouse, such as
ointing, clicking, and scrolling.

Use the TrackPoint pointing device
1. Pointing stick
Use your index finger or middle finger to a ly ressure to the ointing-stick nonsli ca in any direction
arallel to the keyboard. The ointer on the screen moves accordingly but the ointing stick itself does not
move. The higher the ressure a lied, the faster the ointer moves.
2. Left-click b tton
Press to select or o en an item.
3. Right-click b tton
Press to dis lay a shortcut menu.
4. Middle b tton
Press and hold the dotted middle button while a lying ressure to the ointing stick in the vertical or
horizontal direction. Then, you can scroll through the document, Web site, or a s.

Use the trackpad
The entire track ad surface is sensitive to finger touch and movement. You can use the track ad to erform
all the ointing, clicking, and scrolling functions of a traditional mouse. Ta on the surface of the track ad
with one finger to erform the left-click action, with two fingers to erform the right-click action.

Two-finger tap
Ta anywhere on the track ad with two fingers to dis lay a shortcut
menu.
Two-finger scroll
Put two fingers on the track ad and move them in the vertical or
horizontal direction. This action enables you to scroll through the
document, Web site, or a s.
Two-finger zoom o t
Put two fingers on the track ad and move them closer together to
zoom out.
Two-finger zoom in
Put two fingers on the track ad and move them farther a art to zoom
in.
Notes:
• When using two or more fingers, ensure that you osition your fingers slightly a art.
• Some gestures are not available if the last action was done from the TrackPoint ointing device.
• Some gestures are only available when you are using certain a s.
• If the track ad surface is stained with oil, turn off the com uter first. Then, gently wi e the track ad
surface with a soft and lint-free cloth moistened with lukewarm water or com uter cleaner.

If your com uter dis lay su orts the multi-touch function, you can navigate the screen with sim le touch
gestures.
