1. Ventilation slots (outlet) Maintain the outgoing airflow to dissipate internal heat.
Attention: Do not block the ventilation slots. Otherwise, the
co puter ay overheat.
2. Speakers Produce sound.
3. Nu eric keypad To enable or disable the nu eric keypad, press the Nu Lock key.
4. Fingerprint reader Enroll and read your fingerprint for user authentication.
5. Touchpad Perfor finger touch and all the functions of a traditional ouse.

6. Wireless antennas Send and receive radio waves for the built-in wireless LAN (local area
network) and Bluetooth odule.
Notes:
• The antennas are not visible fro the outside of the co puter.
• If the location of the antennas is close to the user’s body (< 20 c ),
you can find the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values in the Setup
Guide that co es with your co puter.
7. Keyboard Enter characters and interact with progra s.
Note: The keyboard also includes hotkeys and function keys for
changing settings and perfor ing tasks quickly.

1. Power connector Connect to power with the included power cord and ac power
adapter.
2. Charging light Indicate whether the co puter is connected to ac power.
• Solid white: Connected to ac power; battery capacity 91%–100%
• Solid a ber: Connected to ac power; battery capacity 1%–90%
• Off: Not connected to ac power
3. HDMI™ connector Connect to a co patible digital audio device or video onitor, such
as an HDTV.
4. USB-C® connector/USB-C (Thunderbolt™
4 enabled) connector
This port utilizes the USB Type-C connector and supports USB Power
Delivery. It is designed as the pri ary power input connector. When
not connected with the power adapter, it can also be used for
connecting:
• Connecting USB data devices.
• Connecting display devices.
• Connecting Thunderbolt-enabled docks, eGPUs, or other devices.*
5. Co bo audio jack Connect to headphones or headsets with a 3.5 (0.14 inch), 4-pole
plug.
Note: This jack does not support standalone external icrophones. If
you use headsets, choose one with a single plug.
6. Novo button hole
Press the Novo button to open the Novo B tton enu. Fro the
enu, you can choose to open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility, the Boot
enu, or the Windows startup options screen.

1. Power button with power light Press the button to turn on the co puter or put the co puter into
sleep ode. The light on the power button shows the syste status
of your co puter.
• On: The co puter is turned on.
• Blinking fast: The co puter is turned on; battery charge
percentage 1% - 20%.
• Blinking slowly: The co puter is in sleep ode.
• Off: The co puter is turned off or in hibernation ode.
2. SD card slot Insert an SD card or a MultiMediaCard (MMC) into the slot for data
transfer or storage.
3. USB (3.2 Gen 1) Type-A connector Connect to a USB-co patible device, such as a USB keyboard, a
USB ouse, a USB storage device, or a USB printer.
4. USB (3.2 Gen 1) Type-A connector
(always-on)
The always-on connector can charge external devices when the
co puter is turned off, in sleep or hibernation ode. The always-on
function can be turned on or off in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is pre-installed on your co puter, you can
also set always-on function within that software.

Depending on any factors such as the processing capability of the host and peripheral devices, file
attributes, and other factors related to syste configuration and operating environ ents, the actual transfer
rate using the various USB connectors on this device will vary and will be slower than the data rate listed
below for each corresponding device.

CAUTION:
When the comp ter is operating, it sho ld be placed on a hard and flat s rface with its bottom area
not in contact with ser’s bare skin. Under normal operating conditions, the temperat re of the
bottom s rface will remain within an acceptable range as defined in IEC 62368 1, b t s ch
temperat res can still be high eno gh to ca se discomfort or harm to the ser if directly to ched for
over one min te at a time. As s ch, it is recommended that sers avoid prolonged direct contact with
the bottom of the comp ter.
Note: So e Lenovo co puters include a display that can be rotated 360 degrees. When those products are
used as a tablet co puter, the te peratures of all the accessible parts are within an acceptable range as
defined in IEC 62368 1.

Work with Windows
The following table contains Windows frequently used settings. You can learn the basics and start working
with Windows right away.
To configure settings, type the corresponding keywords in the Windows search box and select the best
atch. Follow the on-screen instructions to custo ize settings.

networks
For odels with a wireless LAN odule, you can connect your co puter to
a Wi-Fi® network. Click the network icon in the Windows notification area,
and then select a network for connection.
Note: The wireless LAN odule on your co puter ay support different
standards. For so e countries or regions, use of 802.11ax ay be disabled
according to local regulations.
Wi-Fi
Airplane ode Airplane ode is a convenient setting to turn all wireless co unications of
your co puter on and off. You ay need to turn it on when boarding an
airplane.

Night light ode Night light is a switch in Windows that you can turn on and off. When it is
turned on, your screen shows war er colors and the a ount of e itted
blue light is reduced. Enabling night light reduces the chances of developing
eye fatigue or eye strain.

If night light ode is turned on, you can adjust the color te perature of the
screen.
Note: Selected Lenovo co puters are low blue light certified. These
co puters are tested with night light turned on and color te perature set to
the default value of 48.

Updates
Microsoft periodically releases feature and security updates to the Windows
operating syste . Updates that are applicable to your Windows version are
downloaded auto atically when your co puter is connected to the
Internet. When updates are downloaded, you are pro pted to restart the
co puter to install these updates. You can also anually check if there are
available updates for the installed version of Windows.
Attention: Only use Windows Update to download and install updates.
Updates downloaded fro other sources ay include security risks.

• Type Get Help or Tips in the Windows search box and then press Enter. When the app opens, type the
proble description and select the atched result.
• Visit Microsoft support Web site: https://support. icrosoft.co . Enter what you are looking for in the
search box and get search results.
Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager
They are both apps developed by Lenovo. Using either of the , you can:
• View product infor ation and syste status
• Manage and change device settings
• Check for and perfor syste update
Note: This feature is only available on Lenovo Vantage. In Lenovo PC Manager, you can check for and
perfor driver update.
Depending on the country or region in which your co puter is purchased, one of the apps ay be pre-
installed on your co puter. To open it, type its na e in the Windows Search box and select the atched
result. If neither of the apps is pre-installed, you ay install one on your own. Lenovo Vantage is available for
download free of charge fro the Microsoft Store.
Note: App features are subject to change with updates and specific features ay not be available on all
Lenovo products.

The Novo Button enu can be displayed before the operating syste starts. Fro the enu, you can
choose to
• Open the BIOS/UEFI setup utility
• Open the boot device selection enu
• Open the Windows startup options screen
Note: Fro the Windows startup options screen, you can then choose to

For Lenovo co puters with a Novo button, you can press the button to open the Novo Button enu.
Step 1. Turn off the co puter.
Step 2. Open the LCD screen and press the Novo button.
Note: Alternatively, turn off the co puter. Press Fn and the power button to open the Novo Button enu.

Keyboard hotkeys
So e keys on the keyboard are printed with icons. These keys are called hotkeys and can be pressed alone
or in co bination with the Fn key to open certain apps or change certain settings quickly. The functions of
the hotkeys are sy bolized by the icons printed on the .

Mute/Un ute sound.
Decrease/Increase syste volu e.
Mute/Un ute the icrophone.
Increase/Decrease screen brightness.
Switch display devices.
Turn airplane ode on and off.
Open the Windows Settings app.
Lock the screen.
Display thu bnails of all open apps.
Open the Windows Calculator app.
Display an app launcher for quick access to Lenovo apps and services.
Note: For so e odels, you ay need to connect to the Internet and co plete
syste update for this function to take effect.
Open the Windows snipping tool.
*Play or pause playback of edia.
*Stop playback of edia.
*Go the next edia file in the playlist or folder.
*Go to the previous edia file in the playlist or folder.
Turn on/off or adjust the brightness of the keyboard backlight.
Note: This hotkey ust be used with the Fn key.

Hotkey mode
So e hotkeys share keys with function keys (F1 to F12). The hotkey ode is a UEFI/BIOS setting that
changes how hotkeys (or function keys) are used.

Note: Hotkeys that do not share keys with function keys are not affected by the hotkey ode setting. They
should always be used with the Fn key.
The FnLock switch
The FnLock is a switch that reverses the default and hidden function of a hotkey. The following table
provides an exa ple of how the FnLock switch changes the default function of the F1 key.

Note: The F1 function is application-dependent. It ay have no function if the active application does not
have a definition for the key.
The FnLock switch shares the ESC key (in the upper left corner of the keyboard). To turn it on or off, press Fn
+ ESC.
N meric keypad
So e Lenovo co puters includes a dedicated nu eric keypad on the far right of the keyboard. The keypad
is used for entering nu bers and operators quickly.
Press the N mLock key to enable or disable the nu eric keypad.
To ch operations s pported by Windows
For co puters with a touch-enabled screen, you can touch the screen directly with your fingers and interact
with your co puter in a ore natural way. The following table lists frequently used touch operations that are
supported by the Windows operating syste .
