1. Wireless antennas Send and receive radio aves for the built-in ireless LAN (local area
net ork) and Bluetooth module.
Note: The antennas are not visible from the outside of the computer.
2. Po er button ( ith po er light) /
Fingerprint reader ( ith Fingerprint reader
light) *
• Press the button to turn on the computer or put the computer into
sleep mode.
Note: You can turn on the computer by flipping open the LCD screen
if Flip to Boot is enabled.
• The light sho s the po er status of the computer. If the computer
includes a fingerprint reader, it can also sho the status of the
reader.
– Po er light
– On: The computer is turned on.
– Blinking: The computer is in sleep mode.
– Off: The computer is turned off or in hibernation mode.
– Fingerprint reader light
– Blinking and then solid green: The fingerprint reader is
orking.
3. Numeric keypad To enable or disable the numeric keypad, press the Num Lock key.
4. Touchpad Perform finger touch and all the functions of a traditional mouse.
Note: The touchpad also supports multi-touch function.
5. Keyboard Enter characters and interact ith programs.
Note: The keyboard also includes hotkeys and function keys for
changing settings and performing tasks quickly.

1. USB-CTM connector/Po er connector • Connect to po er ith the included po er cord and ac po er
adapter.
• Connect to an external display, storage, or data devices.
Note: An appropriate adapter may be needed for connecting
external devices.
2. Charging light Indicate hether the computer is connected to ac po er.
• Solid hite: Connected to ac po er; Battery capacity 91%–100%
• Solid amber: Connected to ac po er; Battery capacity 1%–90%
• Off: Not connected to ac po er
3. ThunderboltTM 4 connector Connect to an external display, storage, or data devices.
Note: An appropriate adapter may be needed for connecting external
devices.
4. HDMITM connector Connect to a compatible digital audio device or video monitor, such
as an HDTV.
5. USB (3.2 Gen 1) Type-A connector
(al ays-on)
The al ays-on connector can charge external devices hen the
computer is turned off, in sleep or hibernation mode. The al ays-on
function can be turned on or off in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is pre-installed on your computer, you can
also set al ays-on function from ithin that soft are.
6. Combo audio jack Connect to the headphones or headsets ith a 3.5 mm (0.14 inch), 4-
pole plug.
Note: This jack does not support standalone external microphones. If
you use headsets, choose one ith a single plug.
7. Novo button hole Press the Novo button to open the Novo B tton menu.
8. Battery light Indicate the battery capacity of the computer.

– Solid hite: Battery capacity 80%–100%
– Blinking hite: Battery capacity 20%–80%
– Blinking amber: Battery capacity 1%–20%
• Not connected to ac po er
– Off: Battery capacity 20%–100%

1. Integrated Earphone * To take out the earphones, push the built-in earphones tray in until
you hear a click and then carefully pull the tray out of the slot. The
Bluetooth Earphones support calls and audio media.
2. SD card slot Insert an SD card, an Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card, an
SD extended Capacity (SDXC) card or a MultiMediaCard (MMC) card
into the slot for data transfer or storage.

3. USB (3.2 Gen 1) Type-A connector Connect to a USB-compatible device, such as a USB keyboard, a
USB mouse, a USB storage device, or a USB printer.
4. Ethernet connector Connect to a local area net ork (LAN).
5. Nano security-lock slot Lock your computer to a desk, table, or other fixtures through a
compatible security cable lock.

Get started with Windows 10
Learn the basics of Windo s 10 and start orking ith it right a ay. For more information about Windo s
10, see the Windo s help information.
Windows acco nt
You must create at least one account to use the Windo s operating system. It can be either a local account
or a Microsoft account.
Local acco nts
A local account is created on a particular Windo s-enabled device and it can only be used on that device. It
is recommended that you set a pass ord for each local account to prevent unauthorized access to the
device.
Microsoft acco nts
A Microsoft account is a user account that you use to sign in to Microsoft soft are and services. If you use
Microsoft services like OneDrive, Outlook.com, Xbox Live, Office 365, and Skype, you might already have
one. If you don't have it, you can create one for free.
There are t o main benefits of using a Microsoft account:
• Sign in only once. If you use a Microsoft account to sign in to Windo s 10, you don’t need to sign in again
to use OneDrive, Skype, Outlook.com, and other Microsoft services.
• Settings can be synced. If you use your Microsoft account to sign in to multiple Windo s-enabled
devices, certain Windo s settings can be synced among the devices.
Switch between a local and a Microsoft acco nt
If you are using a local account to sign in to Windo s 10, you can s itch to use a Microsoft account instead.
Step 1. Open the Start menu and select Settings ➙ Acco nts.
Step 2. Select Sign in with a Microsoft acco nt instead.
Step 3. If you already have a Microsoft account, enter the account name and pass ord to sign in.
Other ise, select Create one to create a ne Microsoft account.
Note: The device must have Internet access the first time you use a Microsoft account on that
device.
If you ant to s itch back to use a local account, open the Start menu and select Settings ➙ Acco nts ➙
Sign in with a local acco nt instead.
Add additional ser acco nts
Your user account must be of the “Administrator” type to add additional user accounts to Windo s.
Add additional user accounts if you need to share your computer ith family members or other users.
Step 1. Open the Start menu and select Settings ➙ Acco nts ➙ Family & other sers.
Step 2. Select Add someone else to this PC.

Note: To add family members, you need to sign in ith a Microsoft account.
Step 3. Set the user name and pass ord for the user account.
Enroll yo r fingerprint
If your computer includes a fingerprint reader, you can enroll your fingerprint for Windo s sign-in.
Step 1. Open the Start menu and select Settings ➙ Acco nts ➙ Sign-in options.
Note: If you are using a local account, the account must be pass ord protected. Other ise, you
cannot enroll fingerprints.
Step 2. Select Windows Hello Fingerprint ➙ Set p ➙ Get started.
Step 3. Follo on-screen instructions to complete the enrollment. Create a PIN hen prompted, in case
your fingerprint cannot be recognized at Windo s sign-in.
Note: You can enroll more than one fingerprint.
