DIRECTIONS
Remove all packaging materials and inspect the unit prior to use to make sure it has not
been damaged in shipping. When using, suspend the unit from the chain ring provided on
the top of the mount - NEVER hang by the electrical cord. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE UNIT
BEFORE YOU MOVE, CLEAN, AND WHEN CHANGING THE BULB.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. THIS UNIT IS NOT TO COME IN CONTACT
WITH WATER AND NOT TO BE USED IN WET OR DAMP LOCATIONS.
INSTALLATION
- The ulta-violet light of the unit attracts flying insects. For best results hang the unit at
1.5m-2.5m above ground where flying insects are most active. Avoid competing
sources of light and any obstructions within the unit’s operating area.
- In kitchen areas, ensure the unit is positioned to draw flies away from food and
food preparation surfaces. The unit will attract flying insects within a radius of 3m to 6m
on a line of sight basis. If, after 24 hours, you achieve poor results, experiment by
re-positioning the unit at a slightly different height or location.
FOR BEST RESULTS LEAVE THE UNIT OPERATING CONTINUOUSLY FOR THE FIRST
FEW WEEKS TO BREAK INSECT BREEDING CYCLES. THEREAFTER, USE MAY BE
REDUCED TO 12 TO 16 HOURS A DAY.
FOR DAYTIME USE the performance of the unit may be enhanced by adding a small
amout of syrup, fish or meat to the collection tray at the base of the unit.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
ALWAYS UNPLUG UNIT BEFORE CLEANING OR HANDLING. Remove dead insects from
the collection tray at the base of the unit by twisting in an anti-clockwise direction.
From time to time the high voltage
grid should be cleaned. For best
results, replace the ultra-violet tube
at the beginning of each summer.
The ultra-violet tube in your unit will
remain an effective insect attrac-
tant for up to 2500 hours. At the
first sign of the tube flickering, it
should be replaced. Ask your local
retailer for a 9W U-Type ultra-violet
tube, or re-order direct from manu-
facturer.
REPLACING THE BULB
CAUTION! Unplug the unit before you proceed
A slight residual charge may exist on the grid wires immediately after disconnection from
the mains. To discharge this, short across two grid wires using an insulated screwdriver.
1. Remove the insect collection tray.
2. Loosen the screws of the ultra-violet tube holder.
3. Pull out the old tube and replace.
4. Screw back the tube holder and replace collection tray.

ELECTRONIC FLYING INSECT KILLER
The Electronic Flying Insect Killer utilizes black light (ultra-violet rays) of the wave length
proven to be an effective lure for light sensitive flying insects, such as flies, moths, and
mosquitoes. Insects are electrocuted by the electrically charged metal grids upon contact,
destroying them quickly. Dead insects are collected in the tray at the base of the unit.
Ideal for use in and around the home.
The Electronic Flying Insect Killer works night and day to protect homes and
commercial premises alike from the menace of flying insects. The Electronic Flying Insect
Killer provides reliable and continuous control of flying insects.
CAUTION!
1. HIGH VOLTAGE! Disconnect power before repairing or cleaning.
2. Keep away from children.
3. Never put metal objects inside the grids while operating.
4. Keep away from flammables.
5. Check local voltage before operating.
6. Hang or mount out of the reach of children.
7. If damaged, power cord must be repaired or replaced only by factory authorized
technicians.
. Clean collection tray regularly to prevent debris build-up.
