MIX ROOM (SMALL, LARGE)
The MIX ROOM parameter has been added to the DOLBY D
STATUS menu. It indicates the size of the mixing room that was
used. When the parameter value is LARGE, it is recommended to
set the RE-EQUALIZATION parameter for the selected listening
mode to ON (if available).
SURR ROLLOFF (500Hz to 20kHz)
When the SURR ROLLOFF (Surround Rolloff) parameter is set
within its 500Hz to 20kHz range, the unit applies a high-
frequency rolloff to the SIDE L/R and REAR L/R outputs. This rolloff
is only applied to output signals generated by the unit. Signals
above the rolloff that are part of the source recording are passed
through without filtering.
SURROUND EX (AUTO, ON, OFF)
The SURROUND EX parameter provides control of the Surround EX
decoding feature. When set to AUTO, the unit engages Surround
EX decoding for flagged Surround EX input sources. When set to
ON, the unit forces Surround EX decoding for all input sources.
When set to OFF, the unit does not engage Surround EX decoding
for any input sources.
SURROUND MIX LVL (+0.0dB, -3.0dB, -6.0dB)
The SURROUND MIX LVL parameter has been added to the DOLBY
D STATUS menu. It indicates the relative level of surround channels
that were used during the mixing process.
WORD LENGTH (16bits, 20bits, 24bits)
The WORD LENGTH parameter has been added to the dts(-ES)
STATUS menu. It indicates the word length of the audio data
present in the input signal.
New Listening Mode Parameters (continued from page 11)
ES DECODING (AUTO, ON, OFF)
The ES DECODING parameter has been added to the dts(-ES) L7
FILM, dts(-ES) L7 MUSIC, dts(-ES) THX, dts(-ES), and dts(-ES)
2-CHAN listening mode menus. It provides control of the ES
decoding feature. When set to AUTO, the unit engages ES
decoding for flagged dts-ES input sources. When set to ON, the
unit forces ES decoding for all dts input sources. When set to OFF,
the unit does not engage ES decoding for any dts input sources.
Note:
When the ES DECODING parameter is set to ON for
dts 5.1-channel input sources, the SB level meter will
appear on the dts(-ES) STATUS menu.
ES ENCODING (DISCRETE, MATRIX, NONE)
The ES DECODE parameter on the dts(-ES) STATUS menu is now
called the ES ENCODING parameter. When the parameter value is
DISCRETE, a discrete 6.1-channel input source is present. When the
parameter value is MATRIX, a matrix 6.1-channel input source is
present. When the parameter value is NONE, a standard dts input
source with no ES encoding is present.
EX ENCODED (YES, NO)
The EX ENCODED parameter has been added to the DOLBY D
STATUS menu. When the parameter value is YES, the input source
is flagged for Dolby Digital EX encoding. When the parameter
value is NO, the input source is not flagged for Dolby Digital EX
encoding. Dolby Digital EX-encoded input sources that have not
been properly flagged cannot be automatically detected.
