2.1 Intended use
ThedriveroflowpressuremodelLPG300isdesignedtotestandcalibratepressuresen-
sors.
Theinstrument hasbeendesigned andbuiltsolelyforthe purposedescribedhereand
shouldbeusedincompliancewiththesame.
Complywiththetechnicalspecicationsofthisinstructionmanual.Improperhandlingor
technicaloperationoftheinstrumentdoesnotcomplywiththespecicationsrequiredthe
takenoutofserviceimmediatelyandinspectedbyanauthorisedLeyro.
Controltheelectronicprecisioninstrumentwithappropriatediligence(protectitfromhu-
midity,impacts,strongmagneticelds,staticelectricityandextremetemperatures;notto
introduceanyobjectintheinstrumentoropenings).PlugsandSocketsmustbeprotected
from dirt.
Ifyouchangetheinstrumentfromacoldenvironmenttoawarm,malfunctionsmayoccur
init.Insuchacase,shouldwaituntilittstheinstrumenttemperaturetoroomtemperature
beforeswitchingitbackon.

1.Incaseofconnectiontootherdevices,selecttheconnectionmodewithspecialcare.In
certaincircumstances,someinternalconnectioninthirdpartydevices(e.g.connectionto
ground)cancausenotpermittedvoltagepotentials,whichinturncouldaffecttheperfor-
manceofthedeviceitselforotherconnecteddevice,orevendestroythem.
2.Theconnectormustbealwaysconnectedintheformaccessibletoanelectricaloutlet,
toallowforeasydisconnectionatanytime.

Menu
ViathisbuttonyouaccessSETUPmenu,inwhichyoucanper-
formthesettingsforthecorrespondingoperatingmode.IfCTRL
modeisused,theinstrumentwillremainintheVENTafterexiting
the SETUP menu mode.
TheSETUPmenuoptionsarecomposedofsixsub-options.In
Chapter5youwillndadetaileddescriptionofthepoints.
LEAK
WiththekeyLEAKcanbecheckedforleakageofadevicecon-
nectedtothecontroller(Thisfunctionhoweverispossibleonlyin
theCONTROLmode).
ZERO
Buttonformanualadjustmentofthezeropointoftheintegrated
sensor.Duetofactorsexternal,suchastemperature,position,
orambientpressure,thezeropointoftheinstrument,i.e.the
indicatorwithopenpressureinputs,canbemodied.During
adjustmentofthezeropoint,theinstrumentdeterminesautomati-
callysuchmodicationsandincludestheminthecurrentpressure
indication.Thezeropointadjustmentrequiresaswitchingofthe
internalvalves,whichisnotpossiblewithoutalossofpressure
(ifthiscausesdisturbanceduringuse,theadjustmentofthezero
pointcanbedisabled).
Differentialpressureinstrumentsareconnectedtotheinstrumentconnections+and-.
Relativepressureinstrumentsareconnectedtotheconnection(connection-opentothe
atmosphere)fornegativepressureinstrumentsareconnectedtotheconnection-(connec-
tion+opentotheatmosphere).
Fastenonlyunpressurizedtestandcalibrationdevices!Notbeoperatingwithcompres-
sed air or breath tests.
Otherwise,theinstrumentswithlowmeasuringrangescanbedamaged.
Theconnectiontothelowpressurecontrolleroccursthroughaconnectionpressureof6.6
x11mm.Thediameterofthehosemusthave6mm.

4. TRANSPORT, PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Transport
Checkifthelowpressurecontrollerpresentsanydamagecausedduringtransport.
Immediately notify any apparent damage.
Packaging
Donotremovepackaginguntiljustbeforemounting.Keepthepackaging,sinceitisthe
optimalprotectionduringtransportation(e.g.Iftheplaceofinstallationchangesorifthe
instrumentissentforpossiblerepairs).
Storage
Conditionspermittedinthestorageplace:

Humidity:30...80%h.r.(nocondensation)
Avoid:
Directsunlightorproximitytohotobjects

Storethedriveroflowpressuresinitsoriginalpackaginginalocationthatfullsthe
conditionslistedabove.Ifyoudonothavetheoriginalpackaging,packandstorethe
instrumentasfollows:
1.Wraptheinstrumentinanantistaticplasticlm.
2.Placetheinstrument,alongwiththeinsulatingmaterialinthepacking.

3.Foralong(morethan30days)storageputabagwithadesiccantinpacking.
4.Notsealedtheentrancesofpressureduringstorage!Variationsinbarometricpressure
couldcausedamagetoinstrumentswithlowmeasuringranges.
Warning!
Beforestoringtheinstrument(followingoperation),removealltheresidualme-
dia.Thisisespeciallyimportantwhentheenvironmentisharmfultohealth,e.g..
caustic,toxic,carcinogenic,radioactive,etc.
5. OPERATION
Notbeoperatingwithcompressedairorbreathtests.Otherwise,theinstru-
mentswithlowmeasuringrangescanbedamaged.
Protecttheinstrumentfromdirectsunlight,asthismaycausemeasurement
errors.
Operating Control mode (CTRL)
CTRLmodeisusedforcalibrationofpressureandpressureswitchesorotherdevicesto
pressuresensors.CTRLmodethepumpisactivatedandregulatesthenominalpressure
inthecorrespondingform.Theinternalsensorsuppliesthecurrentrealvaluethroughthe
indicator.

PressMENUbutton.ConrmthemenuMODE(MODUS)withOKoptionandpress
/untilCTRL.ConrmwithOK.
Settheupperlimitofthepressurerangeinthesub-menuRANGE(range)(key/

Leakproofness test:BypressingtheLEAKbutton,thecontrolprocesswillbedeactivated
andthesystemclosed.Itcanbecontrolledviathedisplayifthevalueisstable.Bypressing
theLEAKbuttonagain,themodewillbestoppedandtheunitplacedbackinControlmode.

closed.Itcanbecontrolledviathedisplayifthevalueisstable.Bypressing
theLEAKbuttonagain,themodewillbestoppedandtheunitplacedbackinControl
mode.

FormodeMEAS,theRANGEandSTEPofthesub-menuoptionsareirrelevant.
PresstheMENUbutton.ConrmthemenupointMODEwithOKandpressthe/
buttonuntilMEASappears.ConrmwithOK.
Inthemenu,gototheUNITitemwiththe/button,selectthepressureunitand
conrmwithOK.
PresstheMENUbuttoninordertoexitthemenu.
SETTINGsubmenu:
-GototheSETTINGSmenuitemwiththe/button,conrmwithOK.
-Inthesubmenu,gotothezeropointadjustmentitemandconrmwithOK.
-Underthepoint,AUTO-ZERO,theautomaticzeropointadjustmentforthe
MEASmodecanbeactivatedordeactivated.
Onleavingthemenu,thezeropointoftheinternalsensorisadjusted,dependentupon
the setting. The instrument then begins to measure the subsequent pressures.
Operation

UsingtheZERObuttoninMEASmode,theinstrument‘szeropointcanbecompensated
at any time.
Caution!
Iftheconnectedpressureshouldexceedthepermissiblehighestloading
(125%),theinternalsensorwillbeclosedoffusingamagneticvalve.
ThedisplaywillthenshowERROR.UsingtheOKbutton,the
instrumentcanbeclosedoffandopenedupfreely.
Operating mode AUTO
InAUTOmode,apressureprolecanbestored.Thisisespeciallyusefulwhenmultiple
pressuresensorsorpressureswitchesaretobecalibratedwiththesamevalues.The
modealsoenablesadenedproletobetraversedseveraltimesinsuccession.
Setting
PresstheMENUbutton.ConrmthemenuitemMODEwiththeOKbuttonand
pressthe/buttonuntilAUTOappears.ConrmwithOK.
FortheAUTOmode,thesubmenupointsRANGE,UNITandSTEPSarenotrelevant.
GototheSETTINGSmenuitemwiththe/buttonsandconrmwiththe
OKbutton.Thesubmenuitemzeropointadjustmentisnotrelevant.
Inthesubmenu,gototheAUTOmodeitemwiththeUP/DOWNbuttonsandconrm
withOK:
-RANGE:Pressurerangethatwillbecovered
-UNIT:Pressureunit
-STEPS:Thenumberofstepswhichwillbetakentoincreaseanddecrease
thepressure.Theseincrementsarecalculatedbythecontrolleritself.

Inthesubmenupoint,CONFIGURATION1,furthersettingscanbedenedfortheAUTO
mode.

CYCLES:HerethenumberofcyclestobecarriedoutinAUTOmodewillbeset.
TSTART:Delaytimetoventthesensor
TSTOP:Delaytimebeforereachingthemaximumdenedpressure
THOLD:Holdtimeuntilanewpressurevalueisreached
TPAUSE:Delaytimebetweentwocycles
AUTOZERO:Automaticzeropointadjustmentatthecompletionofeachcycle
Toexitthesubmenu,presstheMENUbutton.
Operation
Onleavingthemenu,thecalibratorwillrevertto‘Standbystatus’.Allinformationabout
theAUTOmodewillbeshownonthedisplay.

ThegureshowstheowchartfortheAUTOmode.Basedonthetable,onewillknow
whichcyclesarebeingcarriedoutandthemeaningofeach.

Betweenphases10and16,thecalibratordatacanbeevaluatedandrecordedifastable
valueisdisplayed.TheAUTOmodecanbeexitedbypressingtheMENUbutton.VENT
willbeshownInthetopleftofthedisplay.
Leakage (LEAK)
InCTRLmode,theconnectedtestitemcanbecheckedforleakageviaLEAKbutton.
Setting
Inordertobeabletocheckatestitemforleakage,theinstrumentmustrstbeplacedin
CTRL mode.
Setthedesiredpressureusingthe/buttonorthe/button(0%/100%)
buttons.
Assoonasthepressureisreachedandthevalueisstable,presstheLEAKbutton.
Theinternalpumpwillbeswitchedoffandtheappliedpressurewillbeheld.
