SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Many electrical and mechanical parts in this chassis have special sa ety-related characteristics. These parts are identi ied by in the
Schematic Diagram and Replacement Parts List.
It is essential that these special sa ety parts should be replaced with the same components as recommended in this manual to prevent
X-RADIATION, Shock, Fire, or other Hazards.
Do not modi y the original design without permission o manu acturer.
General Guidance
An isolation Transformer should always be used during the
servicing o a receiver whose chassis is not isolated rom the AC
power line. Use a trans ormer o adequate power rating as this
protects the technician rom accidents resulting in personal injury
rom electrical shocks.
It will also protect the receiver and it's components rom being
damaged by accidental shorts o the circuitry that may be
inadvertently introduced during the service operation.
I any use (or Fusible Resistor) in this monitor is blown, replace it
with the speci ied.
When replacing a high wattage resistor (Oxide Metal Film Resistor,
over 1W), keep the resistor 10mm away rom PCB.
Keep wires away rom high voltage or high temperature parts.
Due to high vacuum and large sur ace area o picture tube,
extreme care should be used in handling the Picture Tube.
Do not li t the Picture tube by it's Neck.
Leakage Current Cold Check(Antenna Cold Check)
With the instrument AC plug removed rom AC source, connect an
electrical jumper across the two AC plug prongs. Place the AC
switch in the on position, connect one lead o ohm-meter to the AC
plug prongs tied together and touch other ohm-meter lead in turn to
each exposed metallic parts such as antenna terminals, phone
jacks, etc.
I the exposed metallic part has a return path to the chassis, the
measured resistance should be between 1MΩ and 5.2MΩ.
When the exposed metal has no return path to the chassis the
reading must be in inite.
An other abnormality exists that must be corrected be ore the
receiver is returned to the customer.
Leakage Current Hot Check (See below Figure)
Plug the AC cord directly into the AC outlet.
Do not use a line Isolation Transformer during this check.
Connect 1.5K/10watt resistor in parallel with a 0.15uF capacitor
between a known good earth ground (Water Pipe, Conduit, etc.)
and the exposed metallic parts.
Measure the AC voltage across the resistor using AC voltmeter
with 1000 ohms/volt or more sensitivity.
Reverse plug the AC cord into the AC outlet and repeat AC voltage
measurements or each exposed metallic part. Any voltage
measured must not exceed 0.75 volt RMS which is corresponds to
0.5mA.
In case any measurement is out o the limits speci ied, there is
possibility o shock hazard and the set must be checked and
repaired be ore it is returned to the customer.

4) Speci ication and per ormance o each parts are ollowed each drawing and speci ication by part number in accordance with SBOM.
5) The receiver must be operated or about 20 minutes prior to the adjustment.

ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Application Object
These instructions are applied to all o the 50” PLASMA TV,
PB73B Chassis
. Notes
(1) Because this is not a hot chassis, it is not necessary to use
an isolation trans ormer. However, the use o isolation
trans ormer will help protect test equipment.
(2) Adjustments must be done in the correct order.
(3) The adjustments must be per ormed in the circumstance o
25±5°C o temperature and 65±10% o relative humidity i
there is no speci ic designation.
(4) The input voltage o the receiver be must kept 220V~,
60Hz when adjusting.
(5) The receiver must be operational or about 15 minutes
prior to the adjustments.
OPreliminary action is 100% FULL WHITE PATTERN must
be operated automatically.(Ez-Adjust 10. Test Pattern)
OTest or a terimage discharge detection
1) How to Adj R/C pressing Power key.
2) Press the ADJ KEY o the adjusting R/C to enter into the
Ez-Adjust, use the CH +/- key to select ‘10. WHITE
PATTERN’, and press the con irmation (A) key. Then,
‘100% FULL WHITE PATTERN’ is displayed
.
[Set is activated HEAT-RUN without signal generator in
this mode.
3. EDID(The Extended Display
Identification Data)/DDC
(Display Data Channel) Download
This has been established by VESA and is the unction
created to “Plug and Play” by making the computer
recon igure user environment through communication with the
monitor automatically without having the user set commands
directly to the PC or the monitor so that the user can use it
immediately.
* When writing EDID, use DDC2B protocol.

I you turn on a still screen more than 20 minutes (Especially

4-3. Adjustment Method
(1) Va Adjustment
1) A ter receiving 100% Full White Pattern, HEAT RUN.
2) Connect + terminal o D.M.M to Va pin o P805, connect
- terminal to GND pin o P805.
3) A ter turning VR901, voltage o D.M.M adjustment as
same as Va voltage which on label o panel right/top.
(Deviation; ±0.5V)
( ) Vs Adjustment
1) Connect + terminal o D.M.M to Vs pin o P805, connect
– terminal to GND pin o P805.
2) A ter turning VR951, voltage o D.M.M adjustment as
same as Va voltage which on label o panel right/top.
(Deviation; ±0.5V)
5. MST3361M-Set Adjustment
5-1. Synopsis
MST3361M-Set adjustment to set the black level and the Gain
o optimum with an automatic movement rom the analog =>
digital converter.
5- . Test Equipment
Service R/C, 801GF(802B,802F,802R),
MSPG-925FA,MSPG-1025D Pattern Generator.
( 480i, 1080p Horizontal 60Hz Color Bar Pattern output will be
possible and the output level will accurately have to be
revised with 0.7±0.1Vp-p)
* It should be checked because the above pattern may be
di erent according to the model and the pattern o the used
equipment.
5-3. Adjustment method
(1) Component1 adjustment method.
1) Select Component1 as the input with Color Bar Pattern
in 480i 60Hz mode and select ‘Component1’ on screen.
2) A ter receiving signal or at least 1 second, press the
ADJ Key on the Service R/C to enter the ‘Ez - Adjust’
and select the ‘1. ADC 480i Comp1’. Pressing the Vol+
Key to adjust the component1.
3) When the adjustment is over, 'ADC Component1
Success’ is displayed.
4) When the adjustment is not normally completed, a
message saying ‘ADC Component1 480i Fail’ is
displayed. When the component is not connected, a
message saying ‘Component1 Not Connected’, when
the input ormat is not 480i, a message saying ‘Not
Valid Format’ and when the input signal is not coming
out, a message saying ‘Check Signal Status’ is
displayed or 1 second.

( ) Component1, RGB adjustment method.
1) Select Component1, RGB as the input with Color Bar
Pattern in 1080p 60Hz mode and select ‘Component1’
as input mode.
2) A ter receiving signal or at least 1 second, press the
ADJ Key on the Service R/C to enter the ‘Ez - Adjust’
and select the ‘2. ADC 480i Comp1/RGB’. Pressing the
Vol+ Key to adjust the component1.
3) When the adjustment is normally completed, the
message ‘ADC Component1 Success’ is displayed, or i
not, the message ‘ADC Component1 1080P Fail’ is
displayed. A ter adjusting the Component1 is
completed, it is automatically switched to the RGB-DTV
mode, and the RGB adjustment starts. I adjusting is
normally completed, the message ‘ADC RGB 1080P
Success’ is displayed.
4) When the adjustment is not normally completed, check
the pattern or the adjustment condition, and then adjust
it again. The error message is same to (4)) o (1)
5) A ter adjustment is complete, exit the adjustment mode
by pressing the ADJ KEY.

6. Video Set Adjustment
It is the adjustment to reduce the color di erence o the RF
and the video signal, which adjusts Analog RF, AV-PAL, and
AV-NTSC.
6-1. Adjustment method
(1) Analog RF and AV-PAL adjustment method.
1) Connect the Video Signal Generator (Master) to the AV
input o the TV via the AV output. At this time, when
entering the input pattern with Model : 202(PAL) and
Pattern : 33(100% color Bar), the ollowing screen is
displayed.
* It should be checked because the above pattern may be
di erent according to the model and the pattern o the used
equipment.
2) A ter entering the in-house signal, when it is checked
that the signal is received, press the ADJ KEY o the
adjusting R/C to enter into ‘EZ-ADJUST’ Select ‘3.
Adjust RF and AV_PAL’ and press the right arrow key
(G) to enter into the adjustment mode.
3) When it enters into the adjustment mode, the screen is
automatically switched to TV 3CH and the ollowing
window is displayed.
4) When the automatic adjustment starts, the main screen
is adjusted, and i adjusting is completed, the message
‘RF-PAL Con iguration Success’ is displayed. I
adjusting is ailed, the message ‘RF-PAL Con iguration
Fail’ is displayed.
5) When the automatic adjustment o the RF signal is
completed, it is automatically switched to AV1 Mode
and the automatic adjustment is per ormed to the AV-
PAL. When the automatic adjustment is completed, the
message ‘AV-PAL Con iguration Success’ is displayed.
I the adjustment is ailed, the message ‘AV-PAL
Con iguration Fail’ is displayed.
( ) AV-NTSC adjustment method.
1) Connect the Video Signal Generator (Master) to the AV
input o the TV via the AV output. At this time, when
entering the input pattern with Model : 201(NTSC) and
Pattern : 33(100% color Bar), the ollowing screen is
displayed.
* It should be checked because the above pattern may be
di erent according to the model and the pattern o the used
equipment.
2) Press the ADJ KEY o the adjusting R/C to enter into
‘EZ-ADJUST’ Select ‘4. Adjust AV_NTSC’ and press the
right arrow key (G) to enter into the adjustment mode.
3) When the automatic adjustment is completed, the
message ‘AV-NTSC Con iguration Success’ is
displayed. I the adjustment is ailed, the message ‘AV-
NTSC Con iguration Fail’ is displayed.

7. Adjustment of White Balance
7-1. Required Equipment
1) Color Analyzer : CA-100(CH 10)
2) When adjusting the PLASMA color temperature, the No.
10 channel with the matrix compensated (White, Red,
Green and Blue compensated) should be used or the
CS-1000 as Color analyzer (CA-100), which should be
adjusted based on the white balance adjustment
coordinate as described below.
2) Automatic adjuster (necessary or the automatic
adjustment, possible to communicate via the RS-232C)
3) Video Signal Generator MSPG-925F 720p,
216Gray(Model : 217, Pattern : 78)

7-3 White Balance adjustment method
Basically it uses the internal pattern but when internal pattern
is not possible, you can select HDMI input or adjustment.
Through the option at the most bottom part o the Ez Adjust
Menu 7.White Balance menu, you can select NONE, INNER
and HDMI, and the de ault is set to INNER. When the
adjustment cannot be done with the internal pattern, you can
select HDMI input or adjustment.
For manual adjustment, press the ADJ KEY o the adjustment
R/C to enter Ez Adjust 7.White-Balance, and the pattern is
automatically displayed. (When you set the Option to INNER,
the de ault is always set to INNER)
1) Connect the set according to the internal pattern or HDMI
input in accordance with 7-3 measuring device connection
diagram.
2) Set the Baud Rate o RS-232C to 115200. It is set to
115200 as de ault.
3) Connect the RS-232C Cable to the set.
4) Connect the HDMI Cable to the set. (Limited to the set with
HDMI option)
5) Select and adjust the model applicable to PB75A chassis
rom the adjuster.
Caution) For automatic adjustment, RS-232C Command and

7-4. Adjustment of White Balance
(For manual adjustment)
- Required Equipment : When adjusting the PLASMA color
temperature, the No. 10 channel with the matrix
compensated (White, Red, Green and Blue
compensated) should be used or the CS-1000 as Color
analyzer (CA-100), which should be adjusted based on
the white balance adjustment coordinate as described
below.
(1) Enter to ‘EZ-ADJUST’ by pressing ADJ key o R/C.
(2) HEAT RUN at least 30 minutes by pressing the ‘11. TEST
Pattern’ on the Service Remote Control and adjust.
(3) Set CA-100 in Zero Calibration, when adjust PDP module
make it contacting completely in the sur ace.
(4) Select ‘6. White-Balance’ o ‘Ez - Adjust’ by pressing the
ADJ KEY on the Service R/C. Then enter adjustment mode
by pressing the Right KEY (
G ). This time white pattern is
displayed. (When press
G key, the screen enters to Full
White internal pattern.)
(5) The adjustment completes in three color temperatures as
Cool, Medium, and Warm.
(6) When R GAIN is ixed at 192:
keep G GAIN and B GAIN less than 192 and ind proper
values or adjustment.
When G GAIN is ixed at 192:
keep R GAIN and B GAIN less than 192 and ind proper
values or adjustment.
When B GAIN is ixed at 192:
keep R GAIN and G GAIN less than 192 and ind proper
values or adjustment.
(7) Adjust using Volume +/- KEY.
(8) When the adjustment is completed, press the OK (AKEY)
button to move to the Ez –Adjust screen. Press the ADJ
KEY to exit the adjustment mode.
