Put LifeBEAM on head. Move hair or any fabric accessory away from
sensor contact point to allow direct contact with forehead.
Adjust helmet so it sits level on your head and low on your forehead. When
shaking your head, the helmet should not rock from side to side or towards
your eyes.

What is LifeBEAM
LifeBEAM is the world’s rst smart cycling helmet. It continuously
measures your heart rate, eliminating the need to wear a chest strap.
LifeBEAM Sensor
The optical LifeBEAM Sensor is integrated into an innovative
hypoallergenic and antibacterial gel headband that directs perspiration
towards the sides of your face. The sensor is located at the front of the
helmet and gently touches your forehead to sample your heart rate.

Important Safety Information
Be sure to read the safety warnings in the accompanying Lazer Owner’s
Manual before continuing.
First Ride
Before using LifeBEAM, peel o the protective lm covering the LifeBEAM
Sensor.
Charge Battery
Make sure LifeBEAM Brain is charged BEFORE your rst ride.
Lift up the grey rubber
cover to expose the micro
USB charging socket.
Using the cable, connect
the LifeBEAM Brain to a
USB power source.
When light is steady,
disconnect the USB cable
and place back the cover.

LifeBEAM Brain
The LifeBEAM Brain is at the back of the helmet, receiving and sending
your heart rate. It consists of:
On/o power button
A micro USB charging socket
A status light strip for power on/o and battery level
Note: Do not attempt to disconnect LifeBEAM Sensor or LifeBEAM Brain
from the helmet.

Pair with Fitness Devices or Smartphones
Turn on your tness device or smartphone app. Please be advised that
LifeBEAM does not have its own app.
Note: Make sure to pair your device within 10 minutes from the time you
turn on LifeBEAM.

Smartphone Users
Each smartphone app pairs a little dierently. Make sure Bluetooth
is turned on and that you have the latest version of your tness app.
LifeBEAM pairs in the app settings, not in the Bluetooth settings of your
phone as in classic Bluetooth devices. Follow pairing instructions of the
app you are using.
Note: Position the device within 3 meters (9 feet) of the LifeBEAM.
Fitness Device Users
Follow the device-specic instructions for receiving heart rate data from a
chest strap; your device will register the LifeBEAM.
Note: The rst time you use your LifeBEAM with a receiving device or app,
you must conduct pairing process.

Turn on LifeBEAM
Press and hold the power button. The status light turns on and LifeBEAM
Brain beeps three times. While operating, the status light pulses.
Put LifeBEAM on Head
Place the helmet on your head as usual, being careful to establish direct
contact between the sensor and the skin of the forehead
Move hair away from sensor contact point before placing on head.
Do not wear any cap or headband that might disrupt the sensor from
touching your forehead.
Your LifeBEAM Helmet comes with the patented Lazer Rollsys® for
adjusting its t. Simply twist the Rollsys roller until the helmet ts
comfortably and snugly. Make sure the sensor still touches your forehead
skin.
Note: The helmet should sit level on your head and low on your forehead,
about one or two nger widths above your eyebrow. When shaking your
head, the helmet should not rock from side to side or into your eyes.

Wait for Heart Rate to display
After device pairing has completed, wait for additional 7 to 15 seconds
to see your heart rate display on the device. Depending on your tness
device and app, there will be dierences in elapsed time and displayed
messages before the proper heart rate appears. If your heart rate does not
display, see Troubleshooting.
Note: If you take LifeBEAM o your head, your heart rate will stop
displaying. Depending on your tness device and app, there will be
dierences in displayed messages at this time.
Ready to Ride!
For future rides, you only need to turn on LifeBEAM.
Take O LifeBEAM
When LifeBEAM is o your head and is idle, LifeBEAM Brain automatically
shuts o after 10 minutes of inactivity. You can also shut LifeBEAM Brain
o by pressing and holding the power button. A long beep sounds and the
status light turns o.
Storage
When storing, do not put objects inside the helmet that may scratch or
damage the sensor.
Maintenance
Although the electronics in LifeBEAM are weather resistant, do NOT put
the helmet under water.
DO NOT USE soap or chemicals to clean the LifeBEAM Sensor or
LifeBEAM Brain.
Regularly clean the sensor to remove dust, mud and other matter that may
block the sensor. Use a clean soft cloth, dry or moist but not dripping wet,
to gently wipe the LifeBEAM Sensor and LifeBEAM Brain.

Battery Level Test
To check the LifeBEAM Brain battery level while LifeBEAM is on, quickly
press the power button. The amount of light displaying in the status light
from the left margin is the percentage of battery time remaining.
If there are beeps every 10 minutes, the battery needs charging.
Troubleshooting
Heart rate does not appear in app.
Verify LifeBEAM is paired to device.
Check that helmet is properly on head.
Make sure that sensor is touching your forehead.
If heart rate still does not appear in app, reset LifeBEAM by turning
o and then turning on again, reset app and wait for 15 sec for heart
rate to appear.
LifeBEAM Brain status light is o.
Try to turn on by pressing the power button.
If status light is still o, charge LifeBEAM.
While charging, if you do not see status light pulsing, keep charging
until the status light is steady.
