1.Foreword
Congratulations on purchasing your new wheelchair lifting platform.
This is an original user manual for your new HDN-Lift.
It is important to read this manual before using the lifting platform.
Set-up and installation MUST be undertaken by a qualified Liftup service technician, so as to
ensure correct assembly.
Improper assembly can lead to unintended danger elements.
The HDN-Lift is a new and innovative lifting platform for wheelchair users.
The solution sees elegant design combined with a robust construction, which can be adapted
to the environment. The platform is space-saving, and so does not need room for long ramps
or the like. The floor is raised and lowered gently and elegantly, which gives wheelchair users
and walking-impaired access to two levels.
The lifting platform is operated easily via operating panels mounted on the wall, or by means of
a stylish remote control.

7.Safety instructions
7.1 Installation and maintenance
Do not attempt to install or maintain your HDN-Lift yourself.
This MUST be undertaken by an authorised* service technician.
Do NOT remove the protection or safety plates, as this may lead to personal injury.
7.2 Unintended HDN-Lift movements
If during the use of your HDN-Lift movement or action occurs which is not described in this
manual, stop the lifting platform and summon technical assistance.
If your HDN-Lift fails to move plane as a platform, a mechanical defect may have occurred –
summon technical assistance.
If the lifting platform does not stop respectively on the upper and lower levels level with the
floor, it may need calibration. Do this by moving the platform down to floor level and holding
down the down button for approx. 5 seconds.
If the problem continues, call technical assistance.
7.3 HDN-Lift movements
The space under the lifting platform must be kept free of all objects that may impair the
platform’s downward movement. Otherwise the platform cannot be moved to the lowest level
and thus not be used as a wheelchair lifting platform. Under normal circumstances no objects
will be able to get under the platform, as access is completely barred.
7.4 Avoid personal injury
So as to avoid personal injury it is NOT permitted to use the HDN-Lift when someone or
something is at risk of being injured by crushing, cutting, falling, slipping or similar.
The operator shall as far as possible ensure that movement can occur without putting
someone or something at risk.
Be extra careful when there are small children and disabled on or near the lifting platform, as
these groups cannot always be expected to be able to foresee the possible consequences of
the movement.
7.5 Overload of the HDN-Lift
In order to avoid material damage from overload (max. 400 kg evenly distributed) your HDN-
Lift is fitted with overload protection, which stops the platform in case of overload.
In such cases, move the platform down in order to exit it.
*Have gone through a product and service course at Liftup.

Safety Plates
8. Personal Safety
The HDN-Lift is fitted with various safety devices which ensure that the user and other
persons are not injured using the lifting platform.
8.1 Anti-crushing
The HDN-Lift is fitted with safety plates
on all open sides, which protect people
from crushing.
Do not remove these plates, as personal
injury may result.
Note too, that the plates function as
barriers, i.e. when the lifting platform
rises the plates will first move 100mm
upward before the platform begins to
move.
8.2 Avoid personal injury
-So as to avoid personal injury it is NOT permitted to use the HDN-Lift when
someone or something is at risk of being injured by crushing, cutting, falling, slipping or
similar.
-It is important that the operator ensures that the platform can move without putting
anyone or anything at risk.
-Be extra careful when there are small children and disabled on or near the lifting
platform, as these groups cannot always be expected to be able to foresee the
possible consequences of the movement.
-Never try to load more on the lifting platform than stated on the load sign’s max. load
(400 kg.).

8.3 Safety plates
When the HDN-Lift is moved to the “lift up” position, the safety plates will first rise and lock
before the lifting platform begins to move. These plates are now acting as barriers.
When the lifting platform is moved into the down position, the safety plates will automatically
lower into the lifting platform, and it can then be exited.

8.4 Handling
The HDN-Lift is normally supplied by your dealer, who also takes care of installation.
Do not try to move the lifting platform manually, as this can lead to permanent injury. The
product should be moved and handled with suitable lifting equipment (pallet-truck, roller plate
or the like).
Do not subject the lifting platform to severe knocks as this can affect functionality.
Keep the supplied remote control* dry and do not subject it to severe blows, such as by
throwing it. Cleaning may only be done using a well-wrung cloth.
Never use a high-pressure jet or hose to rinse the lifting platform, as this can damage the
product.

9.Functioning
The HDN-Lift is a so-called “dead man operated” lifting platform, i.e. the buttons must be
depressed during the entire motion.
The platform works simply by the user calling it by pressing one of the buttons on the wall, or
by using the supplied remote control*.
When the user is on the lifting platform this is operated from the panel by the platform, where
one can choose to be conveyed to a higher or lower level.
10. Assembly
The lifting platform must be installed by an authorised service technician.
Do not attempt to transport or uninstall your HDN-Lift, or to repair it.
This MUST be undertaken by an authorised service technician.
Improper assembly can pose risks for user personal safety. Liftup disclaims any liability if
assembly and installation are not performed by an authorised service technician.
For more information or materials on assembly, contact your dealer.
11. Start-up
The HDN-Lift’s control unit should always be connected to a 230V socket and be switched
on.
Normally the lift is in constant stand-by mode, i.e. it is ready for use as soon as one of the
operating buttons is pressed.

14. Maintenance
14.1 Cleaning
General cleaning may only be done using a well-wrung cloth.
Do NOT use a high-pressure jet or rinse the HDN-Lift directly using a hose.
14.2 Mechanical maintenance
The mechanical maintenance of the lifting platform shall normally only be undertaken in
connection with the regular service inspection. This is to be undertaken by an authorised
service technician 2/4 times a year, depending on whether the platform is indoors or
outdoors.
Should unexpected errors or jarring sounds occur, contact your dealer at once.
14.3 Remote control (accessory)
Two batteries are installed in the remote control. In order to ensure reliable function
swap the batteries every 6 months. To swap the batteries, do the following:
1. Loosen the screw on the rear of the remote control
2. Remove the back panel
3. Loosen the screw which holds the batteries
4. Swap the batteries
5. Refit the battery holder
6. Refit the back panel and test

16. Maintenance checklist
In addition to the general maintenance described in section 12, we recommend as the
manufacturer, that routine inspections are undertaken every 6 months by an authorised
service technician. The dealer you have bought the product from will offer this service, but if
you wish to use another service provider, the owner of the HDN-Lift is responsible for
ensuring that the chosen service technician is qualified in the product in question.
For safety reasons it is very important that these inspections are maintained, since lacking or
improperly performed inspections may result in personal injury.
IMPORTANT!
Before inspecting the lifting platform (or under it), the platform MUST be dismounted from the
controls in order to secure against accidental operation. The service technician is responsible
for performing this disassembly before starting servicing.
It is not enough to disconnect the 230V supply, as the system is fitted with a battery
backup.
