LB-ON-300AC/400AC RFoG Optical Node (AGC with Burst Mode)
General Introduction
LB-ON-300AC and LB-ON-400AC are compact bi-directional optical nodes using WDM
transmission, the ideal platform for delivering upstream and downstream DOCSIS voice,
video, and high speed data services over for FTTX applications. The LB-ON-300AC
and 400AC optical network unit combines the superior proven technologies of both the
RF amplifier and optical components. Tested in accordance with SCTE RFoG standards,
the LB-ON-300AC delivers industry-leading performance, reliability and flexibility with full
1 GHz bandwidth capacity, WDM technology, and optional PON pass-through port for
running high speed data services. The LB-ON-300AC incorporates Automatic Gain
Control (AGC) circuit to maintain the output level over an input optical power range of -6
to +2dBm. In the upstream/return path, there is a choice of Burst mode FP or DFB lasers.
The LB-ON-400AC has the Optional PON Pass-through port.
Precautions !
1. Before installation or operation of unit, please carefully go through this manual.
2. Install power adapter into a safe place without any other objects on it.
3. Care must be given around Optical laser .
4. The unit will produce a little heat when operating, therefore, do not cover ventilation
fins.
5. Any failure on the receiver, please contact Lindsay Broadband. DO not open unit.
SAFETY NOTES
•The LBON300AC/400AC ONU employs an infrared laser device that emits
invisible light, which can permanently damage the retina of an eye.
•Avoid direct exposure to the laser light source.
•Never stare directly into a fiber or at any mirror-like surface that could reflect
light emitted from an un-terminated fiber.
•Never view an active fiber through optical instruments.
NO SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.

Mechanical Diagram
1. Receiving Optical Power Test Port: Input optical power test,1V/mW
2. Receiving Optical Power Indicator: If receiving power is normal, indicator is illuminated.
3.Transmitting Optical Power Indicator: If return laser is operating, indicator is illuminated.
4. Power Indicator：Power on and normal, indicator is illuminated.
5. Optical Input/output Port: SC/APC adapter
6. Optional PON Pass Thru Port
7. Output Level Test Port: Forward RF output level monitoring, -20dB
8. RF Output Port: Forward signal output port, return signal input port as well as +12~15V

SPECIFICATIONS

Operation explanation
1. Clean incoming fiber connector and ONU adapter.
2. Test the optical receiving power to meet the design demand using an optical power
meter.
3. Connect incoming fiber drop to the fiber adopter and power the unit. When the
Receive Optical power indicator turns green the value of input optical power can be
verified at the Receiving optical power test port.
4. RF Test port level is 20dB lower than output port.
5. Return RF signal will be injected into the RF output.
6. Optical Out indicator will illuminate when Return RF signal activates the laser.
Trouble Shooting
1. No power; Check Coaxial cable and connectors, Check power adapter for proper
DC voltage.
2. Low output level: check and clean optical connector and adapter.
3. Other problems, please contact Lindsay Broadband, DO not open unit.
