Overview
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE allows control of up to 4 PCs from one
keyboard, monitor and mouse. The keyboard and mouse connectors
on the PC both have to be PS/2 style. With this unit you can save the
cost of additional keyboards, monitors and mice. At the same time you
will save space and you will eliminate the problems of using the wrong
keyboard or mouse and all the trouble connected with this.
This unit is a pure hardware solution and therefore it is not dependant
on the operating system. This unit requires no software installation.
You only have to connect the cables and switch on the devices.
The CPU Switch LITE supports two ways of switching between the
connected computers: via keyboard hotkeys and by pressing the
switch on this device.
The CPU Switch LITE emulates the keyboard, monitor and mouse
connections for all connected PCs permanently. This prevents error
messages when switching between connected PCs.

INSTALLATION
Before you start please switch off all devices to be attached.
Apart from the PCs to be connected you only need one keyboard,
monitor and PS/2 mouse and the standard connection cables (male to
male) to connect the keyboard, monitor and mouse ports of your PCs
to the LINDY CPU Switch LITE. If some cables are not long enough we
recommend that the complete cable is replaced with a longer length
rather than using extension cables. Extension cables introduce
additional plug to socket connections, which always lowers the signal
quality. When using high resolution or long distances this should be
noted.
Connect the keyboard, monitor and mouse directly to sockets of the
LINDY CPU Switch LITE named CONSOLE. If your keyboard has a 5
pin DIN connector you can use a PS/2 adaptor (LINDY Art.No. 70129).
Serial Mice with 9 Way D connectors are not supported and cannot be
used, even with an adapter.
Connect the PCs keyboard, monitor and mouse ports directly to the
appropriate sockets on the LINDY CPU Switch LITE named CPU A, B,
C or D. The mouse port on your PC has to be PS/2 type (6 pin Mini
DIN socket).
When you have made all connections switch on the monitor first and
then the PCs.

OPERATION
Your monitor will only display one PC signal at any one time. All
keyboard and mouse commands are sent to this PC.
After initial power up, port A is active by default. When a PC is
connected to this port and it is not switched on or is in sleep mode, the
monitor will not show any signal. Please note that this is not the sign of
a faulty CPU Switch!
Operation via hotkey varies for the 2- and 4-port version.
Version 1:4 (Art. No. 32823):
To switch between the connected computers either press the
appropriate switch on the CPU Switch LITE or use a hotkey from your
keyboard. The following hotkeys are available: (Note: ALT + CTRL +
SHIFT keys have to be pressed simultaneously, then released before
the additional keys are pressed one after the other.)
Direct port selection: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 1or 2(or 3
or 4for the 1:4 version) and ENTER. The LINDY CPU Switch LITE will
then switch to the selected port.
Auto-Scan Mode: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 0and ENTER.
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches into the scan mode and scans
through each CPU signal in sequence. Pressing the SPACE will
terminate this mode. All other keyboard and mouse inputs will be
ignored.
Last/Next mode: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 9and ENTER.
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches into the Last/Next mode. By
pressing the left SHIFT key, the LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches to
the previous port. Pressing right SHIFT key switches to the next port.
Pressing the SPACE will terminate this mode. All other keyboard and
mouse inputs will be ignored.
Version 1:2 (Art. No. 32822):
Direct port selection: Instead of ALT + CTRL + SHIFT press CTRL
twice. This allows the switch to alternate the active channel.

Auto-Scan-Mode: You may select this mode by pressing and
releasing in succession the LEFT SHIFT and RIGHT SHIFT key.When
in Auto-Scan-Mode, press LEFT SHIFT for PC 1 and RIGHT SHIFT for
PC 2. To exit from the Auto-Scan-Mode press the SPACEBAR .

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are experiencing problems, first ensure that all cables are
properly connected.
After initial power up port A is active by default. When the PC is
connected to this port and it is not switched on or is in sleep mode the
monitor will not show any signal. Please note that this is not a sign of a
faulty CPU Switch!
Please also note that the LINDY CPU Switch LITE will not respond to
keyboard and mouse commands in Auto-Scan or Last/Next mode.
Pressing the spacebar can only terminate this mode. All other
keyboard and mouse inputs will be ignored.
If this does not solve your problems please follow the steps on the
following two pages.

ÜBERSICHT
Der LINDYCPU-Switch LITE ermöglicht die Bedienung von 2 bzw. 4
PCs von einem Arbeitsplatz mit Monitor, Maus und Tastatur. Maus und
Mausanschlußam PC müssen dem PS/2 Standard entsprechen.
Sie sparen mit dem LINDY CPU-Switch LITE bares Geld für
überzählige Monitore, Mäuse und Tastaturen. Und zugleich wird Ihr
Arbeitsplatz deutlich übersichtlicher und aufgeräumter! Kein
ungewolltes Verwechseln mehr von Mäusen und Tastaturen.
Diese Lösung beruht allein auf Hardwareumschaltung und ist damit
unabhängig vom Betriebssystem. Es wird keine Software eingesetzt.
Nur die Kabel anschließen, fertig.
Der CPU-Switch LITE unterstützt zwei Arten des Umschaltens: per
Tastatur-Hotkey-Eingabe (Tastenkombinationen siehe Seite 5
Bedienung) und durch Drücken der Umschalttasten am CPU-Switch.
Der CPU-Switch LITE emuliert für alle angeschlossenen PCs
permanent Maus-, Tastatur- und Monitoranschluß, so daßdie
angeschlossenen Rechner vom Umschaltvorgang nichts bemerken
und daher auch keine Fehlermeldungen über nicht angeschlossene
Peripheriegeräte erzeugen.

INBETRIEBNAHME
Zur Installation des kompletten Systems schalten Sie bitte alle Geräte
aus.
Sie benötigen neben den anzuschließenden Rechnern lediglich einmal
Monitor, Maus und Tastatur sowie die Monitor-, Maus- und Tastatur-
Anschlußkabel jeweils in der Stecker-an-Stecker Ausführung. Bei zu
kurzen Kabeln verwenden Sie bitte keine Verlängerungskabel sondern
Anschlußkabel mit der benötigten Länge. Der Einsatz von
Verlängerungskabeln führt zur Verschlechterung der Signalqualität,
was sich besonders bei hohen Grafikauflösungen oder größeren
Kabellängen bemerkbar machen kann.
Schließen Sie Monitor, Maus und Tastatur direkt an die Stirnseite des
LINDY CPU-Switch LITE an. Sollte Ihre Tastatur einen 5poligen DIN
Anschlußstecker haben, so können Sie sie mit einem Adapter
anschließen, z.B. LINDY Art. Nr. 70129 (Adapterkabel, 15cm, unsere
Empfehlung) oder Art. Nr. 70029 (Steckeradapter).
Mäuse mit 9poliger Sub-D Anschlußbuchse können nicht verwendet
werden. Auch nicht unter Verwendung eines Adapters.
Schließen Sie die Rechner mit den entsprechenden drei Anschluß-
kabeln für >Monitor, Maus und Tastatur an die Anschlüsse an den
weiteren Buchsen des LINDY CPU-Switch LITE an. Der Mausanschluß
am Rechner mußein PS/2 Anschluß(6polge Mini-DIN Buchse) sein.
Sollte Ihr Rechner diese Buchse nicht aufweisen, so können Sie im
Handbuch der Hauptplatine des Rechners überprüfen, ob auf der
Platine eine Steckerleiste zum nachträglichen Anschlußeines PS/2
Mausanschlusses vorgesehen ist. Dies ist seit vielen Jahren bei der
Mehrzahl aller Rechner der Fall. Lassen Sie in diesem Falle den PS/2
Mausanschlußvon einem versierten Fachhändler nachrüsten. LINDY
bietet dazu die notwendigen PS/2 Slotblechadapter an, z.B. Art. Nr.
33132, 33133, 33134, 33137. Welches der richtige für Ihre
Hauptplatine ist, ergibt sich aus dem Handbuch.
Wenn Sie alle Verbindungen hergestellt haben, können Sie den
Monitor und die angeschlossenen Rechner einschalten.

BEDIENUNG
Auf Ihrem Monitor sehen Sie grundsätzlich nur das Bildsignal von
einem der angeschlossen Rechner. Die Maus- und Tastatureingaben
werden auch nur an diesen gerade ausgewählten Rechner
weitergegeben. Nach dem Einschalten ist Port A aktiv. Das heißt Sie
sehen das Monitorsignal des Rechners, der am Port A angeschlossen
ist. Wenn dieser Rechner nicht eingeschaltet ist oder sich im Power-
Save Modus mit dunkelgeschaltetem Monitorsignal befindet, bleibt Ihr
Bildschirm dunkel. Dies ist KEIN Zeichen für einen defekten
Umschalter!
Zum Umschalten zwischen den Rechnern drücken Sie entweder die
zugehörige Wahltastaste am LINDY CPU-Switch LITE oder drücken
Sie auf der Tastatur einen Umschalt-Hotkey.
Die Bedienung per Hotkeys unterscheidet sich bei der 2- und der 4-
Port-Version.
Für Version 1:4 (Art. Nr.32823):
Folgende Hokeys sind möglich (Anmerkung: : ALT + CTRL + SHIFT
Tasten gleichzeitig drücken, loslassen und dann die weiteren Tasten
nacheinander drücken, auf deutschen Tastaturen werden die Tasten
mit Alt + Strg + Großschreibung bezeichnet):
- Direkte Portauswahl: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT und 1oder 2(oder 3
oder 4für die 1:4 Version) und ENTER/RETURN. Der LINDY CPU-
Switch LITE schaltet auf den eingegebenen Port um.
- Auto-Scan-Modus: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT und danach 0und danach
ENTER/RETURN. Der LINDY CPU-Switch LITE schaltet in den
Scanmodus und stellt im permanenten Wechsel die Bilder aller
angeschlossenen Rechner dar. Dieser Modus kann nur beendet
werden durch Drücken der LEERTASTE. Alle anderen Eingaben
werden ignoriert.
-Vorheriger/Nächster-Kanal-Modus: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT,
und danach 9und danach ENTER/RETURN. Der LINDY
CPU-Switch LITE schaltet in den Modus
Vorheriger/Nächster. Durch Drücken der linken SHIFT Taste
wird zum vorherigen Rechner geschaltet, durch Drücken der
rechten SHIFT Taste zum numerisch nächsten Kanal.

-Dieser Modus kann nur durch Drücken der LEERTASTE,
wieder verlassen
-erden. Alle anderen Eingaben werden in diesem Modus
ignoriert.
Für die Version 1:2 (Art. Nr. 32822):
-Direkte Portauswahl: Statt ALT + CTRL + SHIFT drücken Sie bitte
zweimal kurz hintereinander CTRL-Taste. Hierauf wird zum jeweils
anderen PC umgeschaltet.
-Auto-Scan-Modus: Diesen erreichen Sie durch Betätigen der linken
und rechten SHIFT-Taste kurz hintereinander. Aus dem Auto-Scan-
Modus heraus erreichen Sie direkt PC1 mit der rechten und PC2 mit
der linken SHIFT-Taste. Mit der LEERTASTE verlassen Sie den Auto-
Scan-Modus; es bleibt der momentan aktive Kanal zugeschaltet.

FEHLERSUCHE
Bei Auftreten von Fehlern prüfen Sie bitte zuerst den festen Sitz von
allen Kabeln.
Bitte beachten Sie ferner, daßder LINDY CPU-Switch LITE im
Scanmodus und im Modus Vorheriger/Nächster nicht auf Tastatur- und
Mauseingaben reagiert. Diese Modi können nur durch Drücken der
Leertaste beendet werden.

Anmerkung: Der CPU-Switch LITE unterstützt auch viele sogenannte
Rädchenmäuse und eine Vielzahl von Nicht-Standard Zeiger-Geräten.
Allerdings verwendet jedes Nicht-Standard Gerät individuelle Treiber
und Bussignale, so daßnaturgemäß nicht für alle Geräte am Markt die
Kompatibilität zugesichert werden kann!

Description
Le LINDY CPU Switch Lite permet l‘utilisation de 2 à4 PCs àpartir
d‘un poste avec moniteur, clavier et souris. Le clavier et la souris
doivent posséder une connexion PS/2, ce qui permet un gain de place
et une économie.
Cette installation est indépendante du système d‘exploitation, pas
d‘utilisation de logiciel, juste une connexion par câble.
Le CPU Switch Lite permet de commuter entre les PCs par
l‘intermédiaire d‘un raccourci clavier ou du bouton situésur sa façade.
LeCPU Switch Lite possède une fonction d‘émulation de la souris et
du clavier sur tous les PCs connectés, ce qui permet de déconnecter
un périphérique sans messages d‘erreur.

INSTALLATION
Pour l‘installation complète du système, éteignez tous vos
périphériques.
Utilisez les sorties Moniteur, Souris et Clavier de votre PC, que vous
connectez par l‘intermédiaire des câbles moniteur, souris et clavier sur
le boîtier. N‘utilisez pas de rallonges mais les câbles adéquats pour
chaque longueur. Les rallonges diminuent la qualitéd‘affichage et ne
vous permettent pas de travailler dans de hautes résolutions
graphiques.
Connectez le moniteur, la souris et le clavier directement sur la façade
gauche du LINDY CPU Switch Lite.
Si votre clavier possède une connexion DIN 5, vous pourrez utiliser
notre adaptateur ref. 70029 ou notre câble adaptateur ref.70129.
Les souris avec une connexion Sub-D 9 ne pourront pas être utilisées.
Connectez les trois câbles de connexion de votre PC sur le boîtier
LINDY CPU Switch Lite. La connexion souris du PC doit être en PS/2
(Mini-Din 6). Si votre PC ne reconnaît pas la sortie, il faudra vérifier si
votre PC est prévu pour une connexion PS/2.
Cela s‘est déjàproduit sur plusieurs PCs, surtout d‘anciennes
générations.
LINDY vous propose dans ce cas des adaptateurs de référence 33133,
33134 et 33137. Le bon adaptateur préconisépour votre PC est
indiquédans votre manuel. Lorsque toutes les connexions sont
établies, vous pourrez raccorder les moniteurs et les PCs.
