Overview
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE allows control of up to 4 PCs from one
keyboard, monitor and mouse. The keyboard and mouse connectors
on the PC both have to be PS/2 style. With this unit you can save the
cost of additional keyboards, monitors and mice. At the same time you
will save space and you will eliminate the problems of using the wrong
keyboard or mouse and all the trouble connected with this.
This unit is a pure hardware solution and therefore it is not dependant
on the operating system. This unit requires no software installation.
You only have to connect the cables and switch on the devices.
The CPU Switch LITE supports two ways of switching between the
connected computers: via keyboard hotkeys and by pressing the
switch on this device.
The CPU Switch LITE emulates the keyboard, monitor and mouse
connections for all connected PCs permanently. This prevents error
messages when switching between connected PCs.

INSTALLATION
Before you start please switch off all devices to be attached.
Apart from the PCs to be connected you only need one keyboard,
monitor and PS/2 mouse and the standard connection cables (male to
male) to connect the keyboard, monitor and mouse ports of your PCs
to the LINDY CPU Switch LITE. If some cables are not long enough we
recommend that the complete cable is replaced with a longer length
rather than using extension cables. Extension cables introduce
additional plug to socket connections, which always lowers the signal
quality. When using high resolution or long distances this should be
noted.
Connect the keyboard, monitor and mouse directly to sockets of the
LINDY CPU Switch LITE named CONSOLE. If your keyboard has a 5
pin DIN connector you can use a PS/2 adaptor (LINDY Art.No. 70129).
Serial Mice with 9 Way D connectors are not supported and cannot be
used, even with an adapter.
Connect the PCs keyboard, monitor and mouse ports directly to the
appropriate sockets on the LINDY CPU Switch LITE named CPU A, B,
C or D. The mouse port on your PC has to be PS/2 type (6 pin Mini
DIN socket).
When you have made all connections switch on the monitor first and
then the PCs.

OPERATION
Your monitor will only display one PC signal at any one time. All
keyboard and mouse commands are sent to this PC.
After initial power up, port A is active by default. When a PC is
connected to this port and it is not switched on or is in sleep mode, the
monitor will not show any signal. Please note that this is not the sign of
a faulty CPU Switch!
Operation via hotkey varies for the 2- and 4-port version.
Version 1:4 (Art. No. 32823):
To switch between the connected computers either press the
appropriate switch on the CPU Switch LITE or use a hotkey from your
keyboard. The following hotkeys are available: (Note: ALT + CTRL +
SHIFT keys have to be pressed simultaneously, then released before
the additional keys are pressed one after the other.)
Direct port selection: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 1or 2(or 3
or 4for the 1:4 version) and ENTER. The LINDY CPU Switch LITE will
then switch to the selected port.
Auto-Scan Mode: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 0and ENTER.
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches into the scan mode and scans
through each CPU signal in sequence. Pressing the SPACE will
terminate this mode. All other keyboard and mouse inputs will be
ignored.
Last/Next mode: ALT + CTRL + SHIFT followed by 9and ENTER.
The LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches into the Last/Next mode. By
pressing the left SHIFT key, the LINDY CPU Switch LITE switches to
the previous port. Pressing right SHIFT key switches to the next port.
Pressing the SPACE will terminate this mode. All other keyboard and
mouse inputs will be ignored.
Version 1:2 (Art. No. 32822):
Direct port selection: Instead of ALT + CTRL + SHIFT press CTRL
twice. This allows the switch to alternate the active channel.

Auto-Scan-Mode: You may select this mode by pressing and
releasing in succession the LEFT SHIFT and RIGHT SHIFT key.When
in Auto-Scan-Mode, press LEFT SHIFT for PC 1 and RIGHT SHIFT for
PC 2. To exit from the Auto-Scan-Mode press the SPACEBAR .

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are experiencing problems, first ensure that all cables are
properly connected.
After initial power up port A is active by default. When the PC is
connected to this port and it is not switched on or is in sleep mode the
monitor will not show any signal. Please note that this is not a sign of a
faulty CPU Switch!
Please also note that the LINDY CPU Switch LITE will not respond to
keyboard and mouse commands in Auto-Scan or Last/Next mode.
Pressing the spacebar can only terminate this mode. All other
keyboard and mouse inputs will be ignored.

devices such as wheel mice etc. These devices usually use their own
specific drivers individual bus protocols. For this reason it cannot be
guaranteed that any of these non standard protocols are supported.
