The PAF-826 is a professional stereo audio follow
switcher for the video companion. The high
impedance balanced input circuits reduce loading
effectsandnoiseontheincomingsignals.Thelow
output impedance of 66Ωprovides a maximum
levelof +24dBu. The input and output connections
are printed circuit spring terminal blocks. The
terminalblocksprovidereliableclampingactionfor
secure and reliable operation due to a force
amplifying hinge motion.
A nine pin female D connector provides serial
interfacetocomputerormodemforRS-232control
which is standard in all units. The switcher is
available in other models for stereo, mono or four
channel operation.
The RJ-11 telephone connector allows servral
audio follow units operate in tandem, so several
levels of audio may be achieved.
There are no push buttons on the front panel as
the PAF-826 gets its control functions from the
VSWseriesswitchersorRS-232froma computer.
Multiple switchers can be controlled by a single
remotecontrolpanel, PSRseries.ThePAF-826is
RS-232controlledandremotecontrolisRS-422or
RS-485 via an RJ11 telephone connector and
cable assembly.
The PAF-826 is a stereo audio-only switcher with
digital switching logic combined with high
performance audio circuitry to form the foundation
for the next generation of audio routing switchers.
All VSW, ASW, PAF and PSR series units
occupies on rack space. Each unit includes a
power supply for reliable operation.
The PAF-826 operates as an audio follow for the
VSW-800 series video switchers or as a stand-a-
lone audio switcher.
