Layer 3 switches route packets based on IP address, so unlike
standard (Layer 2) switches,they can link different subnets with-
out the need for a router, and at much higher speeds. The
EtherFast 1324 Switch's Layer 3 switching and "intelligent"
design maximize your network's efficiency, regulating traffic with
802.1p traffic prioritization and partitioning your network by cre-
ating up to 256 VLANs using port-based 802.1q tagging.
TheEtherFast1324Switchprovidesbroadcaststorm suppression,
has hardware MAC and IP address learning, and supports packet
filtering and port security. All the ports support auto MDI/MDI-X,
soyou don'thaveto worry aboutcross-over cables. Configuration
is easy using its web browser-based management interface, the
console,telnet, or your favorite SNMP management program.
