Getting started
Getting started
Before first use
• This product has been packaged to protect it against transportation damage.
Remove all packaging materials from around and inside the appliance, keep the
original packaging carton and materials in a safe place; it will help prevent any
damage if the product needs to be transported in the future, and you can use it
to store the appliance when it is not in use. In the event that the carton is to be
disposed of, please recycle all packaging materials where possible.
• Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so
ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach and disposed of safely.
• Unwind the cord to its full length and inspect it for damage. Do not use the
appliance if the appliance or its cord have been damaged or are not working
properly. In case of damage, contact our after sales support line for advice on
examination, repair or return of the damaged product.
• Read this manual to familiarise yourself with the Pyramid Kettle. Pay particular
attention to the safety instructions on the previous pages.
• Make sure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply and the on/off
switch is in the OFF position (up).
• Lift the Pyramid Kettle vertically off the power base, open the lid and ll the
kettle with cold water and boil it (as described on the following page), then
discard the water. This is to ensure all oils, dust and other residues left from the
manufacturing process and transport are removed. Repeat this procedure a
second time before using the kettle for boiling water to drink.
• Your new Pyramid Kettle is now ready for use.
Boil-dry protection
• The Pyramid Kettle has an automatic shut-off feature that shuts down power to
the Pyramid Kettle if it is empty, preventing accidental operation without water.
Once this safety feature has been activated, unplug the Pyramid Kettle and
let it cool down for a few minutes before lling it with cold water. The Boil-dry
protection will then reset and your Pyramid Kettle is ready for use again.

Using the Pyramid Kettle
1. To ll the Pyramid Kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid, ll
with the desired amount of cold tap water, then close the lid. Alternatively, the
Pyramid Kettle may be lled through the spout.
2. Make sure to ll the kettle at least to the minimum (0.5L) but not beyond the
maximum (1.7L) level. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before
the water has boiled; too much water will result in boiling water spilling out of the
spout when boiling. Take care that no water spills onto the power base.
3. Ensure that the lid is rmly in place before positioning the Pyramid Kettle on the
power base. With dry hands, plug the power base into an appropriate wall outlet
and switch on power at the outlet.
4. Press down the on/off switch below the handle. The indicator light will light up
and the water will start heating up. Do not open the lid during use.
NOTE: Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is rmly closed.
The Pyramid Kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or the lid
is open.
5. The Pyramid Kettle will automatically switch itself off when the water has boiled:
the on/off switch will return to the OFF position and the power indicator will no
longer be illuminated.
6. Wait until the water inside the kettle has completely stopped bubbling before
pouring. Remove the kettle from the power base by gripping the handle and
lifting it off the power base.
Take care when pouring the water to avoid scalding from boiling water or
hot steam. Do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.
7. To stop the heating process at any time during operation, press the on/off switch
upwards.
8. To re-boil the water, allow the kettle to cool for 15~20 seconds before pushing
down the switch again to boil the water.
9. The Pyramid Kettle may be stored on the power base but make sure the power
supply is turned off when the kettle is not in use.

WARNING!
Cleaning and maintenance
• Always disconnect the Pyramid Kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool
before cleaning.
• Never immerse the kettle, cord or power base in water. All connections and
sockets must be kept dry.
• The outside of your kettle only requires occasional wiping with a damp cloth and
mild, non-abrasive household detergent, if necessary, then wipe dry.
• To prevent damage to the kettle, do not use scouring pads, steel wool, solvents
or harsh chemical or alkaline cleaning agents.
• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. lemon juice or
the juice from orange peel, or cleansers that contain acetic acid. Do not allow
such substances to come into contact with the appliance parts.
Removal of mineral deposits
From time to time, you may need to clean off any mineral deposits (limescale) left
by water inside your kettle to keep it operating efciently. How often you have to
do this depends on the water hardness in your area and on how often you use the
Pyramid Kettle. If scaling is a problem in your area, it is important that you clean
the inside of the kettle regularly as scale build-up will damage the heating element
and impair the boil-dry safety feature.
You can use a commercially available descaling agent for household products
(according to the instructions on the packet) to descale the kettle, or a simple
water and vinegar solution and follow the steps below.
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water.
2. Let this mixture stand in the kettle overnight. Do not boil.
3. Empty the solution from the kettle. Any stains remaining inside the spout can
be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.
4. Fill the kettle with fresh, clean water, let it boil and then discard the water.
Repeat with clean, fresh water until all traces of vinegar are removed.
NOTE
The Pyramid Kettle takes approx. 15–20 seconds to turn off when boiling –
this is not a fault. Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate without
water, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. If this should
occur, allow the kettle to cool before lling with cold water and re-boiling.

10
Cleaning the filter
Clean the lter regularly to ensure an easy ow of water. Take out the lter from in
front of the spout and under running water, rub the lter gently with your ngers.
Be careful not to use anything that could tear or damage the lter when cleaning.
Descale the lter at regular intervals. Soak it in a descaling solution, rub off any
residues gently with your ngers and then rinse the lter thoroughly.
Service and repair
Do not attempt to dismantle the kettle or power base. The unit contains no
user-serviceable parts inside. If you have any problems with the Pyramid Kettle,
contact the after sales support line for advice on repair or replacement.
Storage
When in storage or not in use, the power cord may be wound around the cord
storage under the bottom of kettle.
NOTE
It is possible that spots of what looks like rust may appear on the base.
This is caused by impurities in the water, it is not a fault.
