you will nd all the components necessary to complete
your Cozy Cottage Kennel. Refer to your buy list for
specic contents, which will vary by unit.
Now layout your 4x4 runners. Lay them out 8’
outside to outside and 1 in the middle as shown.
Install treated 2x4 as shown. Fasten treated 2x4 rim with 2 1/2” screw into
4x4 runner use angle to make sure end and side
is ush.
Next do your 93” joist layout as shown. Fasten joist with 2 1/2” screws going thru the
rim into the joist. Use angles to make sure all
corners are ush.

Repeat on the opposite (i.e., front) end of the
structure.
After the oor is square, fasten the joist to the
center runner with 2 1/2” screws going in on an
angle.
Install 4x8 CDX plywood. Use angles and make
sure plywood is ush with 2x4 and fasten with 1
1/2” screws every 8”.
Locate and review your packaging list and
identify all construction materials.
Continue installing walls.
Locate the rst wall panel and set in place.
Make sure the wall is ush with the edge of the
oor and fasten with 2 1/2” screws.

Continue installing panels as shown.
Continue installing panels per diagram. Fasten corners every 8 to 10 inches with 1 1/4”
black head screw.
Fasten panels on bottom with 1 1/4” black head
screws every 8 to 10 inches.
Install duratemp strip and fasten with 1 1/4”
screws. Use angle to make sure it is ush with
the oor.
Make sure you have 34” in between for adult
door. Fasten with 2 1/2” screws.

Next install the treated 2x4 to the side of the wall
with 2 1/2” screws. This is where the ooring is
going to rest.
Next install 4x4 post and use angles to make
ush with outside corners. Fasten with 2 1/2”
screws on an angle.
Install 2x6 top plate with trim as shown. Fasten
with 2 1/2” screws every 16”.
Measure 3” as shown to place top plate and
fasten with 2 1/2” screws.
Measure 2 1/2” from the outside of the post to
the top plate as shown and fasten with 2 1/2”
screws.
This is what it should look like when the top
plates are done.

fasten the gable with 2 1/2” screws to tie
together.
Next set the gable in place on the top of the wall. Use your angle and make sure the wall and the
gable are ush and fasten with 2 1/2” screws.
Continue with gable installation. Next set the gable on the other end of the wall.
Locate the gable for above the adult door.

Fasten the gable with 2 1/2” screws. Next locate the gable for the opposite end where
the gable is installed on the top of the 4x4 post.
Use your angle and make sure the peak is ush.
Fasten with 2 1/2” screw.
Secure the gable with 2 1/2” screws to tie the
gable together.
Install the gable as shown and fasten with 2 1/2”
screws.
Install the 2x3 on the bottom of the gable end
and fasten with 2 1/2” screws to strengthen the
gable.

Install 2 3/4” trim and fasten with 2 1/2” screws. Install trim at the door and fasten with 2 1/2”
screws.
Install 2x3’s for door braces and fasten with 2
1/2” screws.
Install the 2x3 on the top of the door opening
to strengthen the gable and fasten with 2 1/2”
scews.
Use 1 1/4” screw and fasten trim into the gable
end.
Continue installing as shown on picture #46.

Install ooring as shown. Make sure the rst piece, where the door will go,
has a notch .
Use your angle where the notch is for the child
door, to make sure it is ush and fasten with
decking screws.
Use the oor spacer for gaps to install ooring
until complete.
Next install K-panel as shown. Use the angle and make sure the K-panel is ush
on the inside of the 2x6 and fasten with 2 1/2”
screws.

Install duratemp siding strip and fasten with 1
1/4” scews.
Install the child door trim. Fasten with 2 1/2”
screws.
Install the door stop and fasten with 1 1/4”
screws.
Make sure you have 20” from the siding to the
4x4 and fasten with 2 1/2” screws.
Fasten with 2 1/2” screws going from 2x6 into
4x4 on top.
Install 4x4 post with trim.

Next use the door spacer bar to gap the child
door.
Install the door on the top of the spacer bar and
center the door opening. Fasten hinges with 2
1/2” black heads.
Install the child door latch. Install the aluminum corner trim and fasten with
small white nails.
Next install the chain link panel from the inside
out as shown.
Fasten with 1=screw with washer on all corners
as shown.

Measure 26 1/2” against siding to the outside
panel.
Next install the top panel as shown and fasten
with screw and washer into 2x2.
Attach panels with clips as shown.
Install inside chain link panel.

Continue installing as shown on picture #83. Install adult door on top of trim and fasten with 2
1/2” screws.
Install door spacer bar for adult door installation. Install bottom door rst and center door. Fasten
with 2 1/2” black headed screws.
Continue to install top half. Locate adult door latch.

Locate roof rafters.
Use wooden gussets to tie rafters together and
fasten with 1 1/4” screws.
Continue from picture #94.
Install strike plate as shown.
Fasten with screws as shown.
Install as shown.

Installing rafters. Use angle and make sure it is
ush with the edge of the 2x6 top plate. Fasten
with 2 1/2” screw on each side from an angle.
Also install (1) 2 1/2” screw from the bottom of
the 2x6 into the rafter.
Truss layout. Measure 3” from the edge of the 2x6 to the edge
of the rafter and fasten with 2 1/2: screw. This is
for the dormer to set on.
Heart window and wood parts. Install heart window as shown.

Top plates are marked off where trusses need to
be placed.
Install dormer as shown. Fasten dormer with 2 1/2” screws.
Fasten T-bar with 2 1/2” screw.
Install T-bar as shown. Fasten wood trim for the heart window with 1
1/4” screws.

Next measure 35” from 2x3 to dormer as shown. Fasten with 2 1/2” screws.
Install sheeting as shown. Fasten bottom corner with 1 1/4” screw.
fasten opposite bottom corner with 1 1/4” screw. Install 2’ OSB and fasten bottom corner with 1
1/4” screws.

lay dormer OSB from the top to the bottom and
mark off with the pencil.
Install valley plate along the pencil mark as
shown.
Next install the dormer OSB sheeting.
Continue installing sheeting with 2 1/2” screws.
Use your tape measure to make sure the top
measures the same as the bottom.
Make sure the reveal on the side is the same
from top to bottom.
