By design, the GC200/400/600
pedestrian gate closer is an
inexpensive easy to install pedestrian
gate closer that you will nd suitable for a wide
range of hinge types, post sizes and gate
weights.
With three different closer strengths to choose
from, you can condently choose the correct
gate closer for most applications, giving your
customer a reliable gate closing function.
Likewise, you can select and install our
pedestrian gate closer along with other security
products to provide reliable gate closing; for
example, to operate with an electromagnetic
lock as part of an access control system.
With maintenance limited to periodic inspection
and lubrication, you have little or nothing to
consider for ongoing maintenance costs.

hung both vertically and
horizontally (check by placing a
spirit level at the points
indicated on drawing).
Having purchased a Lockey pedestrian gate closer, please follow the step-by-step
instructions to complete installation. This closer is suitable for in-line hinge arrangements as
shown in the instructions. If the gate has a different hinge arrangement, please contact us
using the contact details shown below.
Check gate moves freely removing any rust and debris from hinges, particularly ground
pivots.
Components
Check for hinge wear and repair
if necessary. Grease hinges
when in good condition.
Select appropriate fasteners for
attaching brackets to timber or
metal gate and post, unless
brackets are to be welded in
place.

achieve correct position for the gate bracket

Install gate stop restricting opening angle to 90°
To prevent collision between the gate closer post bracket and possibly the gate post if
the gate is forcibly opened beyond 90°, we recommend installing a gate stop to restrict
the opening angle of the gate to 90°. We recommend the installation of a gate stop for
all gates. I

Maintenance
Periodic maintenance is required to ensure the maximum life of the gate closer and the
safety of users. The regularity of maintenance should reect the frequency of use,
environment and the likelihood of vandalism or misuse. Should you require more
information about gate closer maintenance, please contact us using the contact details
below.
The following checks should be regularly carried out:
1. Check all fastenings are secure
2. Check gate closer, brackets and end ttings are not damaged
3. Fully open gate and make sure the gate closer does not falter when closing the gate
and has sufcient force to close the gate at a controlled speed
4. Remove gate closer immediately if it malfunctions in any way or there is any sign of
damage or wear to closer or other parts
Important! - Gate closer clamp should be kept for maintenance purposes
Usage
This Lockey pedestrian gate closer is suitable for medium use gates. To ensure the
maximum life of the closer, follow these points as closely as possible:
1. Encourage users to allow the gate closer to close the gate and not to push or pull the
gate closed
2. Should the gate have a high usage period, it will not damage the closer if the gate is
temporarily held open by a drop bolt, hook or similar device
