1. Environmental and Safety Instructions
1.1 Safety Instructions
1. Please read all instructions before installing and powering the
unit. You should keep these instructions in a safe place for future
reference. When installing and using this electrical equipment,
always follow basic electrical safety precautions.
2. If the power supply shows signs of damage or malfunction, stop
using it immediately, turn off the power and disconnect the
power supply before contacting your supplier for a repair or
replacement.
3. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to
operate the equipment. Use only the accessories, attachments,
and power supplies provided by the manufacturer –connecting
non-approved antennas or power supplies may damage the unit,
cause interference or create an electric shock hazard, and will
void the warranty.
4. Do not attempt to repair the product. The unit contains no
electronic components that can be serviced or replaced by the
user. Any attempt to service or repair the unit by the user will
void the product warranty.
5. Do not lay the communication cables for the sensor together with
high-voltage lines or power lines. Placing them in the same
conduit or duct may cause damage or malfunction due to
induction interference. As a general rule, wire the sensor in a
separate system, use an independent metal conduit, or use
shielded cable
6. Do not short-circuit the load. Explosion or fire may result and
avoid to reverse the power supply polarity or otherwise wired
incorrectly.

2
7. Do not use in an environment where there are explosive
combustible gases.
8. Comply with all local and national electrical installation rules and
regulations
NOTE: A licensed electrician may be required to install or perform
maintenance on this equipment. Always follow applicable local, state and
federal codes and guidelines.
DANGER! - RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: Always disconnect the mains AC
voltage prior to any work on this equipment.
An appropriate external electrical disconnect device must be
installed and properly marked to ensure that an electrical hazard is not
present.
Bonding between conduit and Protective Earth (PE) is required and
must be part of the installation.
Mounting the device in a correct orientation will ensure proper
operation. Please verify the correct orientation as indicated on the device.
Cover screws are required as part of the safety rating.
1.2 Environmental & Disposal Instructions
The IoT cloud connector and accessories contains, excluding the internal
batteries, no corrosive or environmentally damaging substances. Used
batteries must be immediately removed from the device and be disposed
of in an environmentally friendly manner, according to the applicable
legislation. Lithium batteries are hazardous waste. This product contains
high quality materials and components which can be recycled. At the end

3
of its life this product MUST NOT be mixed with other commercial waste
for disposal.

6. Mounting Information
The IoT Cloud Connector and associated power supply is enclosed in an
IP65 enclosure. Mount the enclosure on a rigid surface using four
fastening screws.
The GPS antenna of the IoT Cloud Connector should be mounted in a way
that it has a considerably clear view to the sky. Not doing this may
deteriorate the GPS reception or even completely prevent it.
