1. Introduction
TheViper deLuxeisthetouringversionoftheViper2.6resp.ViperNT.
Builtintoarobustightcasewithapowerfulfan,theViper deLuxeisreadyforanyuse.
Newfeaturesmakeiteveneasiertouse-placingandfoggingwithoutwastingalotof
timesettingandpreparing.
Thenew20Lattankcanbelledconvenientlyandeasily,guaranteeingalongerope-
ratingtime.
Thecastordishesallowforeasyandsafestackingandstowingoftheequipment.
Theperformanceofthemachineallowsapplicationsfromsmallclubstolargehalls,festivals
andevents,aswellasuseforairoworleaktestinginlargebuildings.
Theintendeduseofthedeviceistocreatearticialfog.

2. Safety instructions
• Veryhotsteamescapesfromthenozzle.Dangerofgettingburnt.
• Occasionallyveryhotdropletsofuidmayescapewheninoperation.Thusneveraimat
personsdirectlyandkeepaminimumdistanceof3mtothenozzle.
• Nevertouchthenozzlewheninoperation.Dangerofgettingburnt.
• Thelocationforthemachinemustbenon-ammable,non-combustibleandnotsensitive
toheat.Ithastobetwiceasbigasthemachine.
• Keepaminimumdistanceof60cmtoallammable,combustibleobjectsandobjects
sensitivetoheat.
• Glycolisalcoholandburnswithaslightlybluish,almostinvisibleame.Neverpointthe
fogatstrongsourcesofignitionlikereorpyrotechniceects.
• Neveropenthemachineandleavethemachineunattendedwhenconnectedtoapower
supply.
• Itisonlyallowedtoy/hangthemachinebyusingtheoriginalhangingset.
• Thevisibilityhastobemorethan2minroomswherepeoplewalkaround.
• Donotswallowthefoguid.Keepitawayfromchildren.Incaseofeyecontact,rinse
withalotofwater.Consultadoctorshouldyouhaveaccidentallyswallowedsomeuid.
• Spilleduidorsplasheduiddropletscancausesliphazard.Mopuptheuidanddispose
ofitaccordingtoregulations.
• Fogmayactivatesmokedetectors.
Articially-madefogcanbeproducedinmanydierentways.Themethodusedhereto
producefog,withadevicewhichworksaccordingtothevaporizerprinciple,isthemost
harmlessone.
Nocasehassofarbeenreportedinwhichasoundhumanbeinghasbeenharmedbecause
ofusingourdevicetoproducearticialfog.However,thiscanonlybeguaranteedifthe
professionalfoggeneratorsareusedaccordingly,i.e.atthecorrectvaporizationtemperatures
aswellaswiththecorrectlymixedfoguid.
We,however,recommend:People with health problems or problems of the respiratory
tract or with an inclination for allergies should avoid any contact with articially-made fog.
A fog machine is not a toy!

4.2 Relling the uid tank
– Disconnectthetanklidbypressingthespringsinthengerrecessesinwardsandliftout
thecover.
– Disconnecttheuidtubefromthelidbypressingthequickcoupling[13]andremoving
theplasticspigot[12].
– LoosentheVelcroandtiltthecanisterabout45degrees.
– Torell,unscrewthelargebluecapfromthecanisterandllthetankwithuid.
– TiltthecanisterbackinanuprightpositionandtightenitwiththeVelcrostrap.
– Pushtheplasticspigot[12]intothequickcoupling[13],untilyouhearaclick.Thespigot
isnowlockedrmly.
4.1 General notes
Beforerellingtheuidcanister,makesurethattherearenoimpuritiesinsidethetank.
Ifnecessary,thecanistermustberinsedout.Thiswillpreventcloggingoftheheater.
TheViper deLuxe hasbeendesignedtobeusedwithoriginalLookfoguids.
ThefollowingLookfoguidsareavailable:
Quick-Fog thick,quickdisappearingfoguid
Regular-Fog thick,longlastingfoguid
Slow-Fog thick,extremelylonglastingfoguid
IfuidshavebeenusedotherthanLookfoguidswecan‘tgrantwarranty.
PLEASE NOTE:Thevaporizerofourmachines does not havetobecleaned!Cleaners,
availableonthemarket,candamagethevaporizer!Wecannotgrantwarrantyinthiscase.

5.2 Putting into operation
Removethefrontcasecover.Therearcovercanremainonthecase.Simplyreleasethe
upperpartbypressingthespringsinthengerrecessesinwardandfoldingthecoverdown.
Thecontrolboxcanthenbeoperatedwithoutanyproblems.Theconnectionsforthefog
generatorandfanarealreadyconnectedtothecontrolbox.

operatingboxandinsertthe mains plugintoan earthed socket. Makesurethat the
correctoperatingvoltage(230V/50Hz)isavailable.
InthedisplayofthecontrolboxappearseitherthelaststoredDMXaddress(ifthedevice
isconnectedviaDMX)oraPandtwonumbers(seegureabove).
5.1 Selecting the location
ThelocationinwhichtheViper deLuxeisoperatedshould
– bedry,
– befreefromdustyorpollutedair,
– befreefromvibrations,
– beannon-ammableplaceorsurface,
– bewell-ventilatedwithfog-freeairkeepingtheambientoperatingtemperaturebetween
5°Cand45°Candtherelativeairhumiditybelow80%.

5.3 Switching the device o
a. PresstheModebuttonuntil„OFF”appearsonthedisplay.After15secondsthemachine
willswitchoautomatically.Ontherightbottomedgeofthedisplayareddotwillappear,
indicatingthatthemachineisnotheatinganymore.
Youcanalsoswitchothemachinewithinthese15secondsbypressingthe
Enterbutton.
b. IftheDMXsignalislost,thedevicewillbeswitchedoautomaticallyafter15seconds
forsafetyreasons.

5.4 Operating via DMX 512
ConnecttheViper deLuxetoaDMX-deskusingthe5pin-XLRsocket„DMXin“ofthecon-
trolbox.AssoonasthemachinereceivesacorrectDMXsignal,theyellowDMX-LEDshines.
Nowthepumpandthefancanbeadjustedviathelightingconsole.
Please note:
TheViper deLuxe usestwochannelsatthedesk!Channel 1 = Pump, Channel 2 = Fan.
a)PresstheModebuttononthecontrolpanel,untilthreeguresappearontheLEDdisplay.
b) AdjusttherequestedstartaddressbypressingtheUp/Downbuttons.
5.4.1 Adjusting the DMX start address
b. Afteraheatingtimeofapprox.sevenminutes(ViperNT)orapprox.12minutes(Viper
2.6),thedeviceisreadyforoperation.
c. PresstheModebuttonuntilaPandtwoguresappearinthedisplay.Setthedesired
pumpvalueusingtheUp/Downbuttons.
d. PresstheModebuttonuntilanFandtwoguresappearinthedisplay.Setthedesired
fanvaluehere.
e. PresstheEnterbuttontostarttheunit.Thegreen„Active“LEDlightsup.

5.5 Stand alone
TheViper deLuxecanbeusedintheStandalonemode.Inthismodethecontrolofthe
pumpandthefanmustbeadjustedatthemachine.
a) PressandreleasetheModebuttonuntila„P”andtwoguresappearonthedisplay.
b)AdjustthepumpoutputwiththeUp/DownbuttonsandpresstheEnterbuttononceto
startthefoggingprocess.
ThemachinenowproducesfoguntiltheEnter-buttonispressedagain.
TheoutputcanbechangedduringthefoggingprocessbypressingtheUp/Downbuttons.
Toadjustthefanoutput
a) presstheModebuttonagain,untila„F“andtwoguresappearonthedisplay.
b) AdjustthefanoutputwiththeUp/Downbuttons.
PresstheEnterbuttononcetostartthefanandfoggingprocess.
5.6 Wiring of the connectors
5pin XLR (DMX):
Pin1=Ground,Pin2=DMX–,Pin3=DMX+
c)SavethestartaddressbypressingtheEnterbuttononce.Otherwisethestartaddresswill
notbesavedwhenyoudisconnectthemachinefromthemainssupply.
Adjustthepumpandfanviathedesk.
Ifyouswitchotheconsole,theViper deLuxeisautomaticallyswitchedoaftr15seconds.
ThefollowingfunctionsarepossibleviaRDM:
- DMX-Patch:set/change/checktheDMXstartaddressanddisplayDMXchannels
- Restartthedevice

6. Cleaning, Care and Maintenance
– Makesurethatthe lters arenot cloggedwithdust.Ifnecessary,the ltersmustbe
cleaned.
– Takecarethatthemachineisnotoverheating.
– DonotruntheViper deLuxe withoutanyuid,asthepumpwillrundry.
– WipeupspiledFluidimmediately.Moisture–alsouid–candestroytheelectricofthe
machine.
– Beforerellingtheuidcanister,makesurethattherearenoimpuritiesinsidethetank.
Ifnecessary,thecanistermustberinsedout.Thiswillpreventcloggingtheheater.
– Forcleaningthesurfaceofthedeviceuseasuitable,solvent-freecleaner.
– PLEASE NOTE:Thevaporizerofourmachinesdoesnothavetobecleaned!Cleaners,
availableonthemarket,candamagethevaporizer!Wecannotgrantwarrantyinthis
case.

7. Troubleshooting
Thefogmachinedoes not fog
• Checkexternalcontrolsignals
• Checkmainssupply
• Checkuidtank(empty?)
• Checkforcorrectconnectionsattheuidbottle
• Checkforuidintheuidtube
• Checkifthetanklidisclogged
• Disconnecttheltermatontherightsideofthemachineandcheckthroughthegrille,
whetherthedisplayshowsamalfuntioncode(f.e.E-1).Ifyes,pleasecontactyourdealer
forfurtherinformation.
Thefogmachinefogs uncontrollably
• Checkmainssupply
• Checkunitformoisture(moistureinsidethemachine,especiallyonthePCBcancause
fogging)
Thefogmachineswitches o suddenly
• The„Temperaturecutout“hasswitchedoduetooverheating.
Removeexternalheatsource(forinstancelampsshiningrightontothehousing)and
ensurefreshairsupply.After15to30minutestheunitshouldswitchbackto„on“again.
Loud droning soundduringfogging
• Thepumpisrunningdry.Avoidthisabsolutely!
• Relltheuidbottle
• Doublecheckconnectionuidtubeanduidbottle.

9. Warranty conditions
ForthefogmachineViper deLuxeLook‘guaranteeis:
1. Freeofcharge,subjecttothefollowingconditions(No.2-6)wewillrepairanydefectorfaultinthe
unitifitiscausedbyaprovenfactoryfaultandhasbeenadvisedimmediatelyafterappearance
andwithin24monthofdeliverytotheenduser.Insignicantdeviationsoftheregularproduction
qualitydoesnotguaranteereplacementrights,nordofaultsordefectscausedbywater,wrongfog
uid,bygenerallyabnormalenvironmentconditionsorForceMajeure.
2. GuaranteeServicewillbedoneinthefollowingway:Faultypartswillberepairedorreplaced(our
choice)withcorrectparts.Faultyunitshavetobebroughttousorourservicecentresortobesent
tousorourservicecentresatcustomer‘sexpense.Theinvoiceand/orreceiptshowingthepurchase
dateandtheserialnumberhastocomewiththefaultyunit,otherwisethiswillnotbeguarantee
service.Replacedpartsbecomeourproperty.
3. Thecustomerlosesallrightsforguaranteeservices,ifanyrepairsoradjustmentsaredonetothe
unitsbyunauthorizedpersonsand/orifsparepartsareusedwhicharenotapprovedbyus.The
rightofguaranteeserviceisalsolostifuidsotherthanoriginalLookfoguidshavebeenusedor
ifunitsaresenttouswithfulluidbottles.Alsononcompliancewiththeinstructionsinthismanual
ormistakesbyincorrecthandling/treatingofthemachinewillleadtoalossofguaranteeandalso
anyfaultsanddamagescausedbyundueforce.
4. Certainpartsofthemachineare„consumableparts”andarenotcoveredbythewarranty.
5. Guaranteeservicesdonotcauseanextensionoftheguaranteetimeorthestartofanewguarantee
time.Thewarrantyforreplacedpartsendswiththeguaranteetimeofthewholeunit.
6. Ifadefect/faultcannotberepairedbyusinasatisfactorytime,wewill,within6monthsaftersale
oftheunit,onchoiceofthecustomer,either:
•replacethewholeunitforfreeor
•refundthelesservalueor
•takebackthewholeunitandrefundthepurchaseprice,butnotmorethantheusual
marketpriceatthetimeoftherefund.
7. Furtherclaims,especiallyfordamages,lossesetc.outsidetheunitareexcluded.
