GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Introduction
The Loreda Camera (Model: L510) is Infrared Monitoring Camera (also called Scouting Camera,
Trail Camera, etc.). The Loreda Camera is equipped with Infrared (IR) LED, Light Sensor,
Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensor and Lens, which can record the objects in a region of interests
(ROI) by pictures and videos.
Once objects with higher temperature than ambient environment (like Warm-blooded Creatures
or hot objects) in ROI, which can be detected by the PIR Sensor, the Loreda Camera is triggered
and record the objects automatically by pictures or videos. If objects with same or lower
temperature than ambient environment (like Cold-blooded Creatures or plants), the Loreda
Camera works accordingly by Time Lapse functions.
The Loreda Camera delivers black-and-white pictures or videos in dark environment and color
pictures or videos under sufficient daylight. The Loreda Camera is designed for outdoor
applications (IP65).
1.2 Application
The Loreda Camera can be applied for security purpose, monitoring household, shops, schools,
warehouses, offices, factories, public areas and recording unexpected intrusions. The Loreda
Camera also can be applied for scientific research and hunting purpose, tracking and monitoring
animals or plants.

QUICK START
If you are not familiar with the operation of the Loreda camera, the following
instructions help you get a quick overview. Before doing any operation, please make
sure you have correctly loaded batteries and SDcard into the Loreda camera. If the
SD card is not installed correctly, the device will give an alarm with long beep and t
turn off automatically.
2.1 Load Batteries
Let ’s begin with loading the batteries. Please follow the instructions below.
•Open the battery cover.
•Install 8 AA batteries. Make sure the polarity matches the sign on the cover.
•Close the cover.
Alternatively the camera can run on external 6V(2A) DC power supply (optional,
user provided). When both external power and batteries are connected, the camera
will be powered by the external power works.
2.2 Insert SD Card
The Loreda camera does not come with internal memory, So it does not work
without a SD (Secure Digital) memory card or SDHC (High Capacity) card. Before
inserting the SD card into the card slot, please make sure the write-protect switch on
the side of the SD card is “off” (NOT in the “Lock” position). The supported
memory capacity is up to 16GB.
2.3 Powering on and Test Mode
Switch to the TEST position to enter the test mode. In this mode you can take
pictures or videos like a regular digital camera, or enter the Menu to set up
parameters. On the keypad there are four “shortcut” function keys working as below:

•Press the key to set the camera to shoot videos.
•Press the key to set the camera to take still pictures.
•Press the key to manually trigger the shutter. Photos or
videos (depending on the camera settings) will be taken and saved to the SD
card. If the display shows “CARD PROTECTED” when you press the
SHOT key, switch the power OFF, remove the SD card and slide its
write-protect switch to off.
•Press the OK key to review/playback photos/videos on the LCD screen, or a
connected TV monitor. Use and key to navigate.
There is another key MENU, on the keypad that allows you to program the camera
to work the way you want. Please make reference to 3.1 Parameter Settings in the
Advanced Operation section.
Under the test mode, one useful function you would like is testing the work area of
the PIR (Passive Infrared) Sensor, specifically the sensing angle and monitoring
distance. To perform the test:
•First strap the camera on a tree aiming the region of interest (ROI).
•Walk slowly from one side of the ROI to the other parallel to the camera. Try
different distances and angles from the camera.
By doing this test, you can find the best placement when mounting and aiming the
Loreda camera. In general, you are recommended to place the camera 3 to 6 feet (1 to
2 meters) above the ground.
To avoid potential false triggers due to temperature and motion disturbances, please
do not aim the camera at a heat source (i.e. the sun) or nearby tree branches and
limbs. The ideal direction to aim at is North or South. Also, remove any limbs close
to the front of the camera.
2.4 Powering on and Live Mode
Switch to the ON position to enter the live mode. The Motion Indicator will flash red
for about 10 seconds and the camera starts working. it will at once shoot pictures or
record videos when game or other objects enter the PIR area of the sensor directly.

5. Cautions:
★The working voltage of the Camera is 6V(2A). You can provide it with 4 or 8 AA
batteries, or using external 6V DC power supply.
★Please insert batteries with shown polarity.
★ Please disable the write-protect before inserting the SD-card.
★ The Camera has no internal memory for photos or videos. Thus please insert a
SD-card in OFF mode before testing the camera. Otherwise, the camera can’t
save images and videos. If no SD-card is inserted , the camera will shut down
automatically after a long beep.
★It is recommended to format the SD-card by the Camera when used at the first
time.
★Don’t insert or take out the SD-card when the power switch is at ON position.
★ The Camera will be in USB mode when connected to a USB port of a computer.
In this case the SD-card functions as a removable disk no matter the power
switch of the device is TEST.
★ In the test mode the Camera will shut down automatically after 2 minutes if no
key is pressed. Please turn on the power again if you want to continue to work
with the keyboard.
★ There are two options of IR LED on the Loreda Camera, 850nm and 940nm. The
former provides up to 65-feet flash range where as the latter up to 30-feet flash
range. The benefit of 940nm IR LED is that the flash is almost invisible from 5
feet away.
