6. Keep the instrument away from electrical motors,

7. This product should be connected to a power
supply only of the type described in the operating
instructions or as marked on the product.
8. This product may be equipped with a polarized line
plug (one blade wider than the other). This is a
safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug
into the outlet, contact an electrician to replace your
obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of
the plug.
9. Always turn the power off when the instrument is
not in use. The power supply cord of the product
should be unplugged from the outlet when left
unused for a long period of time.
10. During an electrical storm, turn off the power and
unplug the product.
11. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall
and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure
through openings.
12. The product should be serviced by qualified
personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or the plug has been
damaged; or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquids have
been spilled into the product; or
C. The product has been exposed to rain;
D. The product does not appear to operate nor-
mally or exhibits a marked change in performance;or
E. The product has been dropped, or the
enclosure damaged.

able to all music lovers. You do not need to be a musician or have any previous experience to
become a music maker with Lowrey.

Marianne is the song we will use for the following examples.
The “Let’s Get Started” examples are provided to highlight the easy-play features of the
Adventurer II organ. These, and the rest of the features found on the Adventurer II are
fully detailed in this guide.

Press the Easy button. Three easy-play features: MCS
(Music Chord System), Chord Memory, and Automatic
Bass will be activated. There are no buttons labeled MCS,
Chord Memory, or Automatic Bass.
MCS is Lowrey’s easy-play, one-finger chord feature and is
fully-detailed in the next section. Chord Memory continues
sounding the last MCS chord played, even after the key or keys
have been released. This feature frees your hand to turn a page
of music or prepare for the next chord to be played.
Automatic Bass is the feature that plays the bass sound
automatically, creating a full, rich sound.
EASY BUTTON
POWER
Turn the organ ON by pressing the red POWER button down. The
button is a toggle-type switch located on the left side of the button
panel. It will light along with other buttons on the button panel.
Without touching another button, the Adventurer II gives you that
“Sweet Lowrey Organ Sound” that is called the “Power-Up” sound.
When you are ready to turn the organ off, simply press the red
button up.

The single keyboard on the Adventurer II works like the two keyboards found on larger
organs. The left portion of the keyboard, illustrated below, is used as the lower keyboard.
The right portion is used as the upper keyboard.
You will play the melody notes for the song Marianne: B, C, D, E, F, G; on the right por-
tion of the keyboard (upper keyboard).
Each key on Adventurer II the is clearly labeled to match the music in the Lowrey
Songbook. Follow the easy play music and match the notes with the keys on the organ.
You will play the color-coded MCS chords for the song, Cand G, on the left portion of the
keyboard (lower keyboard). MCS - Music Chord System is Lowrey’s easy-play feature
that makes playing left hand chords fun and easy. With MCS, you can play the left hand
chords for Marianne with just one finger and obtain a full-sounding, complete chord.
When you pressed the Easy Button the red, blue, and green MCS Chord Lights became
illuminated. These lights match the color-coded bars printed above the melody notes in the
song. Red is for C, blue is for F, and green is for Gchords.

Place your right foot on the VOLUME PEDAL while playing. Moving this pedal controls
the overall volume level of the Adventurer II. Pressing the pedal all the way down is max-
imum volume. Pressing the pedal all the way back is minimum volume. The VOLUME
PEDAL allows the player to add expression (changes in the volume level) to their music.
With your left hand, press the Ckey that is under the red chord light on the keyboard. This
will create a full sounding chord and bass sound. While playing the Cwith your left hand
play the melody notes of the song: E, G, C, E, that appear under the red color bar on the
music, with your right hand.
Release the left hand Cand then play the Gunder the green chord light while playing the
melody notes: E, D, F with your right hand. Continue playing the song in this fashion.

With your left hand, press the Ckey that is under the red chord light on the keyboard. The
Latin style will begin to play. While playing the Cwith your left hand play the melody notes
of the song: E, G, C, E, that appear under the red color bar on the music, with your right
hand.
Release the left hand Cand then play the Gunder the green chord light while playing the
melody notes: E, D, F with your right hand. Continue playing the song in this fashion.
There are 19 more songs in the Lowrey Songbook (that was included with the purchase
of the Adventurer II) that feature the color-coded MCS chord bars. Try them all and enjoy
making your own music! Just follow the same steps you used to play MARIANNE and select
different rhythm styles for the different songs, or play using just the Easy button.
The Lowrey Magic Organ Course - “The Lowrey Way
To Learn To Play” uses the same easy-play notation and
color-coded chord bars found in your Lowrey songbook.
EASY-PLAY MUSIC
LATIN
When finished playing, reach up and press the Easy button,
turning it off. Press the blue colored Latin button, located in the
Rhythm Plus Orchestration section. The button will
become illuminated, and cause the Easy and Start Stop but-
tons to light, along with the red, blue and green MCS chord
lights. Play the song again, only this time you will have a com-
plete latin-style band to accompany you while you play!

The Adventurer II organ has eight wonderfully performed songs stored in memory.
The songs are the first eight titles found in the Lowrey songbook that came with your organ
purchase:
1. AMAZING GRACE

For example, to hear Song 1, Amazing Grace, press the red-colored Start Stop button,
located in the Rhythm Plus Orchestration section, while the number 1is displayed. The
song will play one time through.
4. To stop a song during playback, press the Start Stop button.
5. To return the organ to normal operating mode, continue pressing the Song button until the
display is blank.
You may also choose to return the organ to normal mode by pressing the Reset button.

1. Press the Song button, located in the center of the button
panel, below the heading Song Number. The number 1will
appear in the display above the Song button.
2. Press the Song button again for song 2. Press the Song
button repeatedly to select between song numbers 1-8 plus a
selection - ALL. The ALL selection will play all eight songs
through one time.
3. To hear your selection, press the red-colored Start Stop
button, located in the Rhythm Plus Orchestration section,
when the desired Song Number is displayed.

You can plug in a set of stereo headphones (USE STEREO ONLY)into the Headphone jack,
located on the right end of the control panel, so you can play music in private.
Before plugging in a set of headphones be sure that the VOLUME PEDAL is set to mini-
mum volume - toe-end of the pedal all the way up, as illustrated below.
When headphones are plugged into the headphone jack the speaker system is muted. The vol-
ume of the headphones will be controlled with the VOLUME PEDAL, just like the speaker
system of the organ.
SLOWLY increase the headphone volume to a comfortable level.

The Reset button is located on the left side of the button panel.
Pressing the Reset button simply returns the organ to the factory
original settings, which are the same settings as when the organ is
first turned on. Wait a few seconds after pressing this button.

The RHYTHM PLUS ORCHESTRATION section is one of the most exciting sections on
the Adventurer II. For convenience, we will refer to the Rhythm Plus Orchestration Styles
simply as RHYTHM STYLES.
Each button and function for the Rhythm Plus Orchestration section is fully detailed in the
following pages. You will find that many of the buttons and functions are automatic. For
example, pressing any rhythm style button, like BIG BAND or COUNTRYturns on the
EASY and START STOP buttons.
Additionally, pressing a rhythm style button activates the easy play features, MCS, CHORD
MEMORYand AUTOMATIC BASS.
MCS is Lowrey’s easy-play, one-finger chord feature that makes playing left hand chords
easy. MCS is fully reviewed on page 14.
Chord Memory continues sounding the last MCS chord played, even after the key or keys
have been released. This feature frees your hand to turn a page of music or prepare for the
next chord to be played.
Automatic Bass is the feature that plays the bass sound automatically, creating a full, rich
sound.
Press just one rhythm style button and the Adventurer II is ready to be played.
WHAT IT DOES:
The Lowrey Adventurer II is capable of authentically recreating fully orchestrated accompa-
niment patterns-called Styles.
HOW IT WORKS:
The Styles, activated with your left hand on the Left Hand section of the keyboard, are
used in conjunction with your right hand on the the Right Hand section of the keyboard.

Each Styles is composed of three elements:
1. The Rhythm (drum pattern). This would be a drummer playing.
2. The Bass (Automatic bass). This would be the bass player.
3. The Instrumental section. This would be the rest of the band playing.
Each element changes for each style selected. For example, the sounds heard when using the
Big Band style will be different than the sounds heard when using the Latin style.
HOW TO USE IT:
Press the blue button for the style you desire. The button will light up. THE ENTIRE
ORGAN IS SET-UP AND READY TO GO. Just play your song.
NOTE: Each style comes on with a preset tempo. To change the tempo use the Rhythm
Tempo buttons. The tempo will remain constant when changing between styles while they
play.
DOWNBEAT: The downbeat is the first beat of a measure. The bottom Rhythm Tempo
button indicates the downbeat, while a style is playing, by flashing red. The top Rhythm
Tempo button follows the other beats of the style, while it is playing, by flashing green.

WHAT IT DOES:
The two Rhythm Tempo buttons control the speed of a rhythm style.
They also serves as part of the “beat” indicator.
HOW IT WORKS:
To increase the tempo, press the top Rhythm Tempo button. To
decrease the tempo, press the bottom Rhythm Tempo button. It may
be necessary to press either button several times in order to achieve
the desired speed.

HOW IT WORKS:
The Basic feature removes certain elements of a rhythm style in order to provide a clear and
easy-to-follow rhythm.
HOW TO USE IT:
Press any blue rhythm style button and then press the Basic button. The basic style will
begin when a key is played in the Left Hand section of the keyboard, just like any other
style. You may cause a rhythm style to play by pressing the Start Stop button.
For example, press the blue-colored Waltz button and then press the Basic button. The
basic version of the waltz rhythm style will play when you play a Left Hand key or press
the Start Stop button.
HOW IT WORKS:
Press a rhythm style button, then press the Intro/Ending button. The button will light, indi-
cating the Adventurer II is ready to go. You don’t need to press another button.
Play a note in the Left Hand section of the keyboard to start the introduction playing. When
you are finished playing your song press the same Intro/Ending button to hear a profes-
sional sounding ending.
HOW TO USE IT:
The Intro/Ending button makes you sound “like a pro!”

WHAT IT DOES:
There is a single purple button in the Rhythm Plus Orchestration section
called Intro/Ending. It adds professional sounding introductions and end-
ings to each of the rhythm styles with the touch of a button.

WHAT IT DOES:
The Basic button works with each rhythm style and creates a style that is
even easier to play along with. Basic is a good tool for practicing a song.

HOW TO USE IT:
There are no set rules for using the FX feature. Try using FX between sections of a song
(Verse to Chorus) or whenever you feel like adding a break. Press and hold the FX for dif-
ferent lengths of time to hear different variations of the breaks.
The red-colored Start Stop button lights up when any rhythm style is selected. The style
will not start until a key is played in the Left Hand section of the keyboard or when the Start
Stop button is pressed. The button light goes out when the style starts playing. Pressing the
Start Stop button, when a style is playing, stops the style. The style button remains light-
ed and none of the settings (Tempo, Volumes, Sounds...) change. To resume, play a key in
the Left Hand section of the keyboard or press the Start Stop button again.
HOW TO USE IT:
Use Start Stop when you wish to start and stop a style without changing any of the settings.
Remember, if the style has been stopped, pressing Start/Stop again or pressing a key to the
left of the Keyboard Split will re-start the style on the Downbeat.

WHAT IT DOES:
The FX button adds rhythmic fill-ins and breaks to Rhythm Plus
Orchestration styles.
HOW IT WORKS:
Press the red-colored FX button on the control panel, in the Rhythm Plus
Orchestration section, while a style is playing. When activated, the FX
will play to the end of the measure, then the style will return to the main
pattern (unless you continue to hold the FX button).

WHAT IT DOES:
MCS allows easy-play, one-finger, or multi-finger chords to be played on the Left Hand
section of the keyboard. Additionally, the MCS feature illuminates the RED, BLUE, and
GREEN CHORD LIGHTS above the Left Hand section of the keyboard. Red is for C,
blue is for F, and green is for Gchords. These colored lights correspond with the red, blue,
and green chord bars printed above the easy play music used in the Lowrey Songbook, and
the Lowrey Magic Organ Course.
HOW IT WORKS:
MCS has the unique ability to immediately respond to different methods of forming chords.
MCS will respond whether you form one and two finger MCS chords or if you play multi-
finger chords. Pressing a rhythm style button or the EASY button activates MCS and lights
the red, blue, and green chord lights.
HOW TO USE IT:
The MCS CHORD CHART in the back of this book lists the minimum number of notes
needed to form certain chords on the Left Hand section of the keyboard. using MCS.
Illustrations of Major, Minor, and Seventh Chords with MCS follow.
For example, you can play a C SEVENTH chord using MCS by pressing two notes (C and
Bb) as illustrated below, or you can play the four notes (G, Bb, C, E) that form the chord,
shown in the lower illustration. Both methods produce the same chord.

HOW TO USE IT:
MAJOR CHORD: ( C, F, G, Bb, F#, etc.) Any Major chord can be played with the tradi-
tional three notes or a single note. To play a one-finger major chord, simply play the key in
the Left Hand section of the keyboard that matches the letter name of the chord. For exam-
ple, to play a C Major chord (usually just called a Cchord), play a Cnote with your left
hand on the Left Hand section of the keyboard. Use the RED light as a guide.
MINOR CHORD: (Cm, Fm, Gm, Bbm, F#m, etc.) Any Minor chord can be played with the
“traditional” three notes or with two notes. An easy-play MCS Minor chord requires two
notes. The first note matches the letter name of the desired chord (just like a Major chord).
To determine the second note, count UP (to the right) three consecutive notes or keys.
BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE BLACK KEYS WHEN COUNTING UP AND DON’T COUNT
THE NOTE YOU ARE STARTING ON.
For example, to play a Cm (C Minor) chord, you need to play a C note and the EFlat note
to the right of the Cnote. Be sure to press both keys down at the same time.

SEVENTH CHORD: (C7, D7, Bb7, etc.) Any Seventh chord can be played with the tra-
ditional four notes OR two notes. An easy-play MCS Seventh chord requires two notes.
The first note matches the letter name of the desired chord (like a Major chord). To deter-
mine the second note, count DOWN (to the left) two consecutive notes or keys.
BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE BLACK KEYS WHEN COUNTING DOWN AND DO NOT
COUNT THE NOTE YOU ARE STARTING ON.
For example, to play a C7 chord, you need to play a Cnote and the Bflat note to the left of
that Cnote. Be sure to press both at the same time.
NO CHORD (N.C.): When a rhythm style is playing you can play a No Chord, printed
N. C. in music, by playing a group of three, four, or five consecutive keys at the same time
on the Left Hand section of the keyboard, as illustrated below.
For example: C, C#, D or F, F#, G, Ab.

The Keyboard Sounds section details the organ and instrumental sound for the left and
right hand sections of the keyboard.
HOW TO USE IT:
The Organ button produces a traditional organ sound for the Left Hand section of the
keyboard.
The Theatre Organ preset sound is on when the Adventurer II is turned on.
The Full Organ preset produces a beautiful, lush organ sound.
HOW TO USE IT:
Pressing a button turns it on or off. When a button is illuminated, the sound is on. Only one
of the two buttons may be on at one time.

WHAT IT DOES:
Turns the Theatre Organ and Full Organ preset sounds on and
off for the Right Hand section of the keyboard.
HOW IT WORKS:
The Theatre Organ preset produces a light, hollow type of
organ sound, traditionally associated with theatre organ sounds.

Turns the Organ sound on and off for the Left Hand section of the
keyboard.
HOW IT WORKS:
The Organ button is off when the Adventurer II is turned on. Pressing the
button turns it on or off. When the button is illuminated, the sound is on.

WHAT IT DOES:
Orchestral sounds are additional sounds that are played on the Right Hand section of the
keyboard.
HOW IT WORKS:
Pressing a button causes it to light, indicating it is on. Pressing a lighted button turns it off.
Only one Orchestral sound button may be on at one time.
HOW TO USE IT:
Use the sounds alone or create sound combinations by combining Orchestral sounds with
the Theatre or Full organ sounds.
