Understanding the Lukup Player X
You can control the device using Lukup Player app or Lukup Remote. Lukup Player app is a
Smartphone mobile app that can be downloaded free from Google Play store or Apple App Store
(search for ‘Lukup Player’)

If you have purchased Lukup Player from our local partner for IP-Television (IPTV) services, you are
advised to raise an installation request through customer care helpline. Our representative will help
you setup the product and activate the services for you. If you have purchased the Player from local
stores or on-line for availing our Over-The-Top (OTT) services, you shall connect it to your 3rd party
broadband provider and setup yourself.
Please refer to instructions on handling Lukup Player and accessories towards the end of this guide
If you have registered as an IPTV customer through CAF (Customer Application Form), you should
have received your email address (to be used as username) and password and a link for verification
through email.
If you are an OTT subscriber, please create a subscriber account on the Lukup website if you have
not done already. Refer to steps below:
On your laptop, open a web browser and go to http://www.lukup.com
Go to ‘SUBSCRIBE’ tab on top right corner
Click on ‘Not Registered?’
Enter your email (to be used as username) and set password. Note down the registered
username and password
Select ‘Subscriber’ option from ‘Who are You?’ drop down menu
How to install the Lukup Player
Step 1:
Registration

Select “I agree to the terms and conditions” checkbox and click Register
A mail confirmation with a link to verify your registered email id will be sent to you. Click
on the link to complete your registration
Connect the Ethernet cable (RJ45) from Lukup network (IPTV) or 3rd party broadband provider (OTT)
to ‘ETHERNET’ port.
Connect Lukup Player Video output to TV. Use an HDMI cable (gives better clarity) or
CVBS/Composite video cable. Connect one end of HDMI cable to ‘HDMI OUT’ on Lukup Player and
the other end to the ‘HDMI IN’on TV. For Composite Video, connect one end to ‘VIDEO OUT’ on
Lukup Player and other end to CVBS/Composite Video IN on TV.
Connect the Power Supply Unit. Insert DC jack to ‘POWER’ on Lukup Player and the other end to the
wall socket. If the Power Supply Unit does not fit properly on wall socket, you may need to buy a
power plug converter.
Step 2:
Connect Player

Switch ON the power and select the Input/Source on TV to either of HDMI or CVBS, depending on
what you have chosen.
TV will display Lukup splash screen followed by Lukup logo with messages to prompt the status of
connectivity and actions.
You may use your Lukup Player app or TV remote to activate Lukup Player
Using Lukup Player app
On your Smartphone, open Wi-Fi settings and select ‘LUKUP’. Default password is 12345678.
To set up Lukup Player, launch Lukup Player app on your mobile phone. Launch Settings and follow
these steps in sequence

You need to set up WAN network. Use mobile back button to go back to Settings.
Click on ‘Setup Network’ ‘Broadband’ ‘Auto Detect Network’
Alternately, Lukup network may require Lukup Player to have manual settings. Note, this is for
advanced users. Use option ‘Select network manually’.
To activate services on Lukup Player,
From ‘Settings’, Click on ‘Authenticate’ and enter your registered username and
password. If you have entered your credentials correctly, a message ‘Login successful’
appears on mobile app.
Click on ‘Finish’ button. Wait for 5 minutes for activation of services to complete
Open ‘Settings’‘Account Information’page to view your subscriber ID, Account
balance, Distributor ID and Account status. You may match these with what is shown in

your account page on Lukup website. Please note down the Subscriber ID for future
reference.
Using TV Remote
Setup can be done using TV Remote. Point the TV remote to Lukup Player.
On the TV remote, click on ‘Settings’‘Set Up network’ ‘Auto’
To activate services on Lukup Player,
From ‘Settings’, Click on ‘Authentication’. Submit your registered username and
password. Wait for 5 minutes for activation of services to complete.

On successful completion of activation, the home page of the Player will be displayed on TV. The
player is ready to be used with the services you have subscribed to.

Before you start using Lukup services, you need to recharge your account. If your account is already
recharged by Lukup sales representative, you will see your account page reflecting the amount.
Verify by logging in to website (http://www.lukup.com). If not, proceed to below steps:
After logging in, click on Recharge button and enter an amount equal to or more than
the plan that you wish to subscribe to, plus taxes. Available plans are listed under
https://www.lukup.com/subscribe.Click on ‘Proceed’ to Recharge. You will be directed
through a payment gateway for online transfer.
Your transaction will be available in ‘My Accounts’tab on ‘Subscriber’s menu’.
You can now subscribe to an available plan of your choice. Login to your account page, under
available subscriptions in ‘Subscriber’s Menu’ choose ‘Available Plans’ from options in drop down
menu:

If you have chosen a plan which gives credit for top up packs, you may choose now. You may also
choose it later from the mobile app, as explained below:
Choose ‘Available Packs’ (bouquet) or ‘Available channels’ (A-la-carte) or ‘Available
programs’ (for VoD channels) from options in drop down menu.
Click on Subscribe (after choosing pack/channel/program…), then click OK to confirm
Individual channels (A-la-carte) can be subscribed on the Lukup Player app. In ‘Guide’,
long press on the channel and click on Subscribe button

Understanding Lukup Player app widgets
Lukup player app can be used to control Lukup player, play content on the app and to personalize
features. When the Lukup Player app is connected to Lukup Player, it is used to control the way
Lukup Player functions. When you don’t connect the Lukup Player app to the player, content is
played on the app itself. This ‘multi-screen’ feature allows you to discover and play select TV and
VoD content when in-home or out-of-home.
Status bar
The Wi-Fi icon appears when Lukup Player app is connected to Player.
Network icon appears when the Lukup Player is connected to Lukup
network. You need to ensure both appear for proper working of the
product

than Lukup Player App.

To watch a channel, press the Guide button. Channels are listed by categories in a grid format. Select
a channel and press OK to display its program schedule. Select the program and press OK to watch
the program.

Problem
Suggested Solution
I am unable to watch
TV nor able to access
internet
Make sure the TV and Player are switched ON
Select the right source on TV and check if connections are proper
Connect TV to alternate source or use CVBS/Composite cable and check
Follow the steps 1-3 (How to Install Lukup Player) carefully. You should
get Home screen on TV
If your account is suspended (login fails), login to website & recharge
your account
Not able to browse
internet from
laptop/mobile
If you are not able to watch TV, follow steps above
Make sure TV and Player are switched ON and laptop/mobile is in the
Wi-Fi range
Check that Wi-Fi network selected is that of player and shows
‘connected’. Default network name is ‘LUKUP’
Restart your Player
I am on a plan with
4Mbps internet speed.
However, I am getting
only 1 Mbps
Login to your account in webpage and check whether you have
consumed your data quota already. Go to ‘My Packages’ ‘My Plans’
‘Show data usage’. If you have consumed your quota, the speed will
be reduced to FUP
‘Wrong username or
password or
subscription expired’
message when trying to
authenticate
Make sure you are entering the right username and password. Try
logging to website with the same credentials. You may use ‘Forget
password’ link on website to change your password
Check if your account is suspended. Login to website & recharge your
account

If you are using mobile app, make sure your mobile app is connected to
Player. Wi-Fi icon will appear on top bar on mobile. Go to ‘Settings’

Change to a different channel and check
If problem is found on all channels, restart your Player
TV remote is not
working
Make sure remote faces the front panel of the Player when you
operate
If you don’t see Power button light blinking when operating, check
battery orientation or replace battery
Pay channel / VoD not

carte subscription
Did you get a confirmation message on subscription? Check validity of
pack/channel by logging in to the website and check ‘My packs’ / ‘My
channels’
If your account is suspended, login to website & recharge your account
Restart your Player

If you are an OTT subscriber, you will be able to watch only Free
channels
If you are an IPTV subscriber, make sure your Player is connected to
Lukup network to watch pay channels. Please call up customer care and
confirm your distributor ID (Settings > Account Information)
If you are trying to watch channels on mobile app (not TV), channels
will be restricted to free channels
Recharge was
unsuccessful
Login to website and check if transaction is reflecting in the statement
‘My accounts’
If yes, then logout (‘Settings’ Authenticate ‘Logout’) and login
If no, and the amount has been debited from your bank account,
contact customer care

Handling

Be sure to fully read this Quick Start Guide before you operate the product
Install the Lukup device horizontally. An uneven installation may cause the device to be
damaged
Place the device in a well-ventilated and no-heat environment
When the device is not in use , it is advised to remove the power cord from the power outlet
Dispose off used batteries. Keep batteries out of the reach of children
Don’ts
Do not use a damaged power cord as it may cause fire or an electric shock
Do not cover the device with anything as it may cause overheat and cause damage
Do not install the device in places

owhere there is no ventilation
Moving the device to a hot area from a cold one will cause condensation. Do not operate the
device for one or two hours until it has dried completely
Do not touch the power cord with wet hands as it may cause an electric shock
Never open the device parts. It is very dangerous to touch the inside of the device due to the
possibility of an electric shock
The device should not be disposed of as normal household garbage. It is an e-waste. Kindly call
customer care if want to get tips on safe disposal

Limited Warranty
The Lukup Player (Product) is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year
from the date of purchase. Lukup does not warrant the product against normal wear and tear, nor damage
caused by accident or abuse. Within the warranty period, Lukup will, at its sole option, repair or replace
components that fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for
parts or labour, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost.
This warranty does not apply to:
ocosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents;
oconsumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials
or workmanship;
odamage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire or other acts of nature or external
causes;
odamage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service provider of Lukup; or
odamage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of Lukup
Lukup reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used
in contravention of the laws of any country
THE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES CONTAINED HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY LIABILITY ARISING UNDER WARRANTY OR
MERCHANTABILITY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL LUKUP BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES, WHETHER RESULTING FROM THE USE, MISUSE, OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT OR FROM
DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT.
Lukup retains the exclusive right to repair or replace (with a new or newly-overhauled replacement product)
the device or software or offer a full refund of the purchase price at its sole discretion. SUCH REMEDY SHALL
BE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY.
To obtain warranty service, contact your local Lukup authorized service center or call Lukup product support
for shipping instructions and an RMA tracking number Securely pack the device and a copy of the original sales
receipt, which is required as proof for warranty repairs. Write the tracking number clearly on the outside of
the package. Send the device, freight charges prepaid, to any Lukup warranty service center.
