1� Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and

this Lantern, but must be supplied by operator�
Battery use and care
1� Recharge only with the charger specified
by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery may create a
risk of fire when used with another battery.
2� Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water.
If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.

Charging
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this manual
including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this Lantern.
Crank Charging
1� Before the first use or after prolonged storage,
you must charge the Lantern’s Battery�
a� To charge the Battery, the Lantern must be off�
b� Grasp the Hand Crank and pull it
out of its recessed position�

Pull the Hand Crank out from its recessed position.
c� Once Hand Crank is out, firmly hold the
Lantern with one hand and use the other
hand to rotate the Hand Crank clockwise,
continuously for at least 1 minute�
Note: One minute of cranking will generate
a varying amount of light depending on
how many LEDs are illuminated�
d� Once the Battery is charged, return the
Hand Crank to its recessed position�
DC Adapter Charging
1� If the LEDs begin to dim or work irregularly, its
an indication the Lantern must be recharged�

a� Recharge the Battery by using the Hand Crank
(follow steps in Crank Charging) or, optionally,
you may use the provided DC Adapter�
b� Connect the DC Adapter’s 5VDC output
to the side of the Lantern and the input
side to the 12VDC power source�
c� Turn the Lantern off�
d� It will take approximately 4 hours for the DC
Adapter to fully charge the Lantern’s Battery�
Operation

1� Once the Battery is charged, the
Lantern can be used:
Note: The Push Button turns the Lantern on and
off, and also selects the number of LEDs used�
a� Push the Push Button once to turn on the
Lantern and illuminate four LEDs�
b� Push the Push Button again to illuminate eight
LEDs and a third time to illuminate eighteen LEDs�
c� Pushing the Push Button a fourth time turns
off all LEDs and powers off the Lantern�
Note: To preserve the service life of the
LEDs, allow 20 seconds to pass between
switching the Lantern on and off.
2� To prevent accidents and preserve charge in the
Battery, turn the Lantern off after use� Clean, then
store the Lantern indoors out of children’s reach�

Maintenance
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual
must be performed only by a qualified technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OR FIRE:
Turn the Power Switch of the Lantern off. Unplug the Lantern from its DC Adapter (if used) and allow the
Lantern to cool completely before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM LANTERN FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs,
have the problem corrected before further use.
1� BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general
condition of the Lantern� Check for:
• loose hardware,
• misalignment or binding of moving parts,
• cracked or broken parts,
• damaged electrical wiring, and
• any other condition that may
affect its safe operation�
2� Clean outside regularly to prevent dust
from accumulating� Use damp cloth
during cleaning and dry before use�
3� There are no serviceable or replacement
parts in the Lantern or DC Adapter�
Battery Disposal
1� Access the battery from the bottom of the Lantern�

3� Cut wires from the battery using insulated wire
clippers and remove battery from the Lantern�
4� Do not attempt to replace the battery�
5� Li-Ion BATTERY MUST BE RECYCLED

short, incinerate or open battery�

above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you� THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS�
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid� Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise�
If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may
elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement� We will
return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product�
