Basic
Introduction
Graviton M1 is the next-generation MIDI controller pedal designed for guitarists and bassists
who want to incorporate the full power of MIDI into their live or studio rigs with total wireless
freedom, effortless usability, compatibility and expandability in an ultra compact package.
●Total Wireless Freedom: Graviton M1 is remote-controlled by the included XY
Controller, which can be attached to your instrument. The controller features two
5-way directional switches (10 switches in total), and each switch is fully
programmable for sending MIDI, switching banks, and more. Its intuitive design
enables easy and eyes-free operation, similar to using a pickup selector switch. This
eliminates the need for tap dancing and allows you to move freely on stage while
performing.
●Effortless Usability: Graviton M1 comes with a large 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD,
which makes MIDI programming a breeze and eliminates the need for a PC editor. Its
user-friendly interface allows for quick and easy changes both on and off stage, as all
changes made on screen are automatically saved. It also supports a wide range of
MIDI messages and useful software features.
●Compatibility / Expandability: Send MIDI to six devices at once over four different
MIDI interfaces. Works with almost any external footswitch / expression pedal. Up to
two footswitch / expression pedals and 10 XY Controllers can work together at the
same time. Also controllable by MIDI messages from other devices.
5

●Ultra Compact Footprint: Graviton M1 is smaller than an overdrive pedal, with the full
control of a large 10-switch MIDI controller, saving pedalboards space and weight. Or
use Graviton M1 to turn compact multi-effects pedals / amp modelers / computers /
iPhones / iPads into portable and powerful gigging machines.

and intuitive, similar to using a pickup selector switch.
7

XY Controller comes with a velcro patch and can be attached to any instrument. Experiment
with different positions to see what works best for you. You may want to move the controller
closer to your picking hand for quicker switching or further away for more room while
strumming. Here are some suggestions:
(If you have multiple instruments, all can share one XY Controller by having a base velcro
patch on each instrument).
XY Controller Features:

The Software: Navigation
The Graviton M1's User Interface is designed with multiple Screens that display information
in different ways while you are playing. For instance, the MIDI Screen shows all outgoing
MIDI messages, the Bank Screen displays all Presets in that Bank, and the Live Screen
features large, clear text with minimal distractions, making it ideal for live performances. Each
screen serves a unique purpose to suit your needs.
The Graviton M1's User Interface has a "Select a Screen" page at the top, which organizes
multiple Screens into three modes: Preset Mode,Setlist Mode, and Settings. In Preset
Mode and Setlist Mode, the XY Controller is active and can be customized with individual
switching actions for each mode.
On every Screen, you'll see four elements at the top, from left to right:
●A back button (<) that takes you to the previous screen when tapped.
●A name that displays the name of the current playing Preset,Song,Setlist,Screen
etc.
●A page indicator that displays the current Bank /Page and allows you to switch to
another Bank /Page by tapping it.
●A battery icon that displays the remaining battery percentage of the XY Controller.
12

Below the top section, most screens have a list of ten items, organized into two columns of
five. These items can be Presets,Songs,Setlists,Actions, etc. Each item in the list has:
● An assigned XY Switch (X1 to Y5) or the item's number (1 to 10 or 120). You can
select/play an item by tapping it, similar to a left-click with a mouse.
● A name, which can be the Preset,Song,Setlist,Action name, etc. You can access a
context popup menu for an item by tapping on its name, similar to a right-click with a
mouse.

Preset Mode
Getting Started
When you are in any Screen within Preset Mode, hitting an XY Switch will perform its
assigned Action (like playing a Preset or switching Banks) as defined in the Bank screen.
See Glossary section for the list of available Actions.
To assign an Action to an XY Switch, see the Bank Screen Section below.
To program a Preset and play it:
1. Select a Preset to program: (there are two ways)
a. Go to the Preset Mode > Bank: tap on the Preset number you want (X1 - Y5)
(it will be highlighted in blue as the playing Preset). Then go back to the MIDI
screen for editing.
b. Go to Preset Mode > MIDI: then hit the XY Switch assigned to the Preset you
want to edit (as shown in Bank screen).
2. Add a MIDI message to the Preset: tap on the “+” button to add a MIDI message.
Repeat to add up to 6 MIDI Messages.
3. Edit a MIDI message: tap on the MIDI message “Type”, “Number”, “Value”,
“Channel” to edit its values.
4. Done: now everytime you hit that XY Switch, its assigned Preset will play, sending out
its MIDI Messages to other connected MIDI devices.
17
