CARDIOID OR OMNIDIRECTIONAL USE
The LX-318C cabinet is not a conventional cardiod but a ‘2 in 1’. Because of our sophisticated integrated
processor theuser canselectbetweenomnidirectional orcardiodcoverage, activatingtherearspeaker aswell
as selecting the rear frequency they most want to cancel, increasing the front pressure and directivity and
ensuring that rear sound does not spill on to the stage behind the sub-bass.
Thisselectionisdonefrom thebuttons belowtheLCDonthecabinetsback panel. Just preset upordownuntil
you see thepreset required.

supplied with theEthernet Module kit.
What is it for?
Obtain detailed information of cabinetbehaviourandmonitor thecabinet/sin real time. You can changethe
preset, gain, mute, polarity and phase. You can also activatethe air absorption compensationandselect the
«SOLO»mode.
How does it work?
Via Ethernet (cable or wireless). Onceinstalled, the O.C.S. software automatically detects all the cabinets
connected to the network and displays them in the O.C.S. window on the users PC.
What does it show?
As well as displayingthe cabinetmodel and IP address theO.C.S will be monitoring in real time andthe user will
beable to viewRMS levels,Input clip, power moduletemperature, compression levels, air absorption
compensationandcabinetangulation.

CONFIGURING ETHERNET TO WORK WITH LX-318S
Thereare twopossible waysto connect:
1.-ConnectingthroughanETHERNETSWITCH/HUB::
-You will needanormalCAT5 Cable.
2.- Connectingthrough aWirlessETHERNET.
Let usnow proceed to configure the Ethernet network, setting theIP address of the computer as static.
To do this go to:
START > CONFIGURATION> NETWORK CONFIGURATION
Wewill launch the propertiesof "LocalArea
Connection"byclickingtherightmousebut-
tonandclicking onproperties.

LX-318C
Select "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)" and click on
properties.
Select: “Use next IP Address” And write as you
wish, in order to configureyour network.
Normally, Ip valueswill be somethinglike this:
IPAddress:192.168.2.xxx
Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0
Where xxx will be anumber between 1and 254
Accept to quit the network settings and again to
apply them at the next screen. Depending on the
Windows Version, you will be asked to reboot or
not.
Once the Computer is configured with a static IP
proceed to connect to the linearray system through
theO.M.S.(online monitoringsystem)software.
OpentheO.M.SSoftwareandfrom theInitial Screen
chooseETHERNET.
It will open adifferent screen,as follows, there you cansee your Network configuration, and thecabinetscurrently
connected.

In this case, we can see that the cabinet do not have the same IP environment as the PC. So, select the
cabinet andmodify the assigned IP in order to be able to connect to it.
Bydefault,theCabinetwillhavethisIP192.168.2.100(Versionsbefore2009couldbeenasignedwithIP10.10.25.101
orIP192.168.1.100)
TheNetworkenviromentconsistsinthefirst3setsof threenumbersseparatedbydots.Inordertodetect/communicate
with thecabinets, the software and thecabinets must have the same Network settings.
If it isnotinthe same environment WindowsProfesional (2000, XP, VISTA)will detectit, but isnot goingtobeableto
establish connection. In Windows Home, the processor is not going to be detected until the same enviroment is
applied.
In order to change the IP settingsto have the same configuration asthe PC, wecan change the IP address of the
cabinetsby clickingintheAssignIPtoselectDevicebuttonafter writinginthebox abovethedesireddata.Remember
there cannot be two deviceswithexactly thesameIP address, the last set of three numbershastobedifferent and

RAINBOW – ACOUSTICAL PREDICTION SOFTWARE
Thanks to the RAINBOW software, youwill be able to “virtually” determine the acoustical response of one or
variouscabinetsat the same time.
Basedon polar response measurements,taken
meticulously with a360º coverage both vertically
andhorizontally, the Rainbowsoftware isable to
calculate the SPL responseincludingthe
interactionbetweenthem taking into account the
magnitudeandphase response, inorderto enable
the user to correct cancellationsand evento
createthem if theacoustical design so requires.
Rainbowis very easy to use and offers avery
intuitivedesign,multitool interface andon-line
updatabledatabase.
TheRainbowsoftwarehasbeendesignedbyand
for sound technicians. Itsaim is to help installers
andusersof Lynx pro audio products.
This software is able to import WMF Vector Files
with technical drawingsandinsert them directly
intothepredictionwindowandthusenablingreal
measurementpredictions.
Thisalso helpsto determine deadzonesand
obtain the maximum performancefrom eachof the
cabinetsinstalled.
