Hand over the user manual to the end user and ensure they are briefed.

doorsovertheirexpectedservicelife,specialimportancemustbeattachedtothefasteningofsafety-relevant
hardware.
MACOindicatesexplicitlythatlargesashweightsaremovedandacceleratedduringopeningandclosing.
Thisappliesparticularlytoslidingelements.Itisatthediscretionandresponsibilityoftherespective
manufacturer(windowmanufacturer),installersanddealersofwindowsandbalconydoors,inparticularto
li&slidedoors,tooercorrespondingmovementrestrictorsorsimilar..
Incorrectassemblycanleadtoseriousinjuries.Theinstallationmustbecarriedoutbysuitablytrained
personnelwhohavebeeninstructedinaccordancewiththestateoftheartandrecognisedrulesof
technology.
Overloadingorimproperoperationoftheli&slidehardwaremaycausethesashtojumpoutofitsguide,fall
outandcauseseriousinjury.
Duetothehighweightoftheelement,caremustalwaysbetakentoensurecorrectsecuringoftheelement
duringproduction,transportandassemblyontheconstructionsite.
Ifoverloadingoftheli&slidehardwareisexpectedunderspecialcircumstances,(e.g.inschools,
kindergartensetc.),thismustbepreventedusingtheappropriatemeasurese.g.:byusingabuerstopto
reducetheopeningwidthorusingdamperelements.
Improperhandlingmayleadtocrushing.Alertuserstothedangersincaseofimproperhandling.Thisapplies

greased/oiledbeforecommissioning(seemaintenanceandadjustmentinstructions).
Theli&slidehardware(HS)areonlyintendedforuseinxedbuildings.Theyareusedforhorizontally
openingandclosingwindowsandbalconydoors.Theli&slideelementsmustbeinstalledvertically,never
slanted.

Mountallhardwarepartsprofessionallyasdescribedinthismanualandobserveallsafetyinstructions.
Tofastenthehardware,usethespeciedscrewsizes!Thesemustreachintothesteelreinforcementwhen
usingPVCproles.
Besuretofollowtheprolemanufacturer‘sprocessingpolicy.
Thehardwaremaynotbeusedfortimberwithaggressivecontent/surfacetreatments.
Thehardwarepartsdescribedintheseassemblyinstructionsaremadeofcolourlesspassivatedsteeland
sealedinaccordancewithDINEN12329.Theymustnotbeusedinenvironmentswithaggressive,corrosiveair
content.Ifyouarenotsure,pleaseaskyourMACOcontactpersonforadvice.
Thehardwaremanufacturershallnotbeliableforanymalfunctionsordamagetothehardwareortothe
windowsorbalconydoorsequippedwiththem,iftheyaresubjecttouseofthird-partyhardware,inadequate
tendering,failuretocomplywiththeinstallationrulesorapplicationdiagrams.
Thefabricatorisresponsibleforcompliancewiththefunctionaldimensionsspeciedintheseassembly
instructionsaswellasforawlesshardwareassemblyandsecurefasteningofallcomponents.
Inordernottoaectthelightnessofthehardware,turnthescrewsstraight(unlessotherwiseindicated)and
donotover-tighten!
Fixthescrewsofthesupportingcomponents(e.g.rollers,rollerrailandguiderail)inthereinforcementprole.
Withthespacer-blocksetting,observethetechnicalguidelineNo.3oftheglaziertrade„Blockingofglazing
units“.
Keeptherollertrackandalllatchesfreefromdepositsanddirttoavoiddamagetothehardwareandensure
optimalfunctionality.Inparticular,protectthehardwarefromcementorplasterresidues.
Donotmakeanyconstructivechangestothehardwareparts.
Alwayscloseandlockthewindowandbalconydoorsashwhenwindyordray.Forthepurposesofthis
denition,windanddraughtarepresentifthewindoworwindowdoorsasheslocatedinoneoftheopening
positionsarecausedtomovebyairpressureorairsuctionoftheirownaccordanduncontrollablyopenor
close.

Theresistancetowindloadsintheclosedandlockedstatedependsontherespectiveconstructionofthe
windowsandbalconydoors.IfwindloadsinaccordancewithDINEN12210(inparticulartestpressurep3)are
tobeexpected,suitablehardwarearetobeselectedandagreedonseparatelyinconjunctionwiththe
respectivewindowconstructionandtheframematerial.
Thedenedmaximumsashweightsfortheindividualhardwaredesignsmustnotbeexceeded.
Thecomponentwiththelowestpermissibleloadcapacitydeterminesthemaximumsashweight.Application
diagramsandcomponentmappingsmustbeobserved.
Thehardwareandtherebatespacesmustbesucientlyventilated,especiallyduringtheconstructionphase,
sothattheyarenotexposedtodirectmoistureorcondensation.
Thehardwarearetobekeptfreeofdepositsandcontaminationbybuildingmaterials(constructiondust,
gypsumplaster,cementetc.),thereforewindowsmustbecoveredaccordingly.
Thehardwaremustonlybecleanedorpolishedwithmild,pH-neutraldetergentsindilutedform.
Attachtheoperatinglabelinaclearlyvisiblemannertothebuilt-inliandslidesash.Theoperatinglabelis
locatedinthebasicboxorinthe„cornerdeection“package.
Improper use
TherespectivehardwaresystemmayonlybeassembledwithhardwarecomponentsfromtheMACOslide
hardwarerange.Intheeventofimproperinstallationofthehardwareand/ortheuseofnon-originalor
non-factoryapprovedsystemaccessories,noliabilitywillbeaccepted.
Donotusevinegar-basedoracid-curingsealants,asthesecanleadtocorrosionofthehardwareparts.Further

thedownloadarea).
Theliandslideelementsmayonlybesurfacetreatedbeforethehardwareisinstalled.Anysubsequent
surfacetreatmentmayrestrictthefunctionalityofthehardware.Inthiscase,nowarrantyclaimsagainstthe
hardwaremanufacturershallbeaccepted.
Protectthehardwarefromdamagebyangularorsharptools.
