IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
General Safety Warnings
WARNING Read all safety warnings and instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense
and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
1. Work area safety
a. Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate the Bead Seater in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
c. Keep children and bystanders away
from an operating Bead Seater.
2. Personal safety
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating this
Bead Seater. Do not use this Bead Seater
while you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating a Bead Seater
may result in serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment.
A dust mask, non-skid safety shoes
and a hard hat must be used for the
applicable conditions. Wear
heavy-duty work gloves during use.
c. Always wear eye protection.
Wear ANSI-approved safety
goggles with side shields.
d. Always wear hearing protection
when using the tool.
Prolonged exposure to high
intensity noise is able to
cause hearing loss.
e. Always wear heavy-duty work
gloves when using Bead Seater.
3. Bead Seater use and care
a. Store Bead Seater out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the Bead Seater or these
instructions to operate it. A Bead Seater is
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
b. Maintain the Bead Seater. Keep the Bead
Seater clean for better and safer performance.
Follow instructions for lubricating and
changing accessories. Keep dry, clean
and free from oil and grease. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition
that may affect the Bead Seater’s operation.
If damaged, have the Bead Seater repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused
by a poorly maintained Bead Seater.
c. Use the Bead Seater in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account
the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the Bead Seater for
operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
4. Service
a. Have your Bead Seater serviced by a
qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the Bead Seater is maintained.

Bead Seater Safety Warnings
1. Do not use more than 40 psi to seat bead. Do
not pressurize tank to more than 120 psi.
2. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles, heavy-duty
work gloves and hearing protection during use.
3. Use as intended only.
4. Do not drop Bead Seater.
5. Read manual before set up and/or use.
6. Risk of injury - do not direct air
stream at people or animals.
7. Do not use to supply breathing air.
8. To prevent injury keep hands away from
tire and rim when using Bead Seater.
9. Fill Bead Seater with air only. Other
gases can cause asphyxiation.
10. Drain Tank daily and after use. Internal rust causes
tank failure and explosion.
11. Remove air in Tank before storing.
12. The use of accessories or attachments not
recommended by the manufacturer may
result in a risk of injury to persons.
13. Industrial applications must follow OSHA guidelines.
14. Maintain labels and nameplates on the
Bead Seater. These carry important safety
information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
15. This product is not a toy.
Keep it out of reach of children.

Assembly Instructions
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY AND DEATH FROM EXPLOSION:
Install supplied components only. Do
not replace any component with objects
not supplied.
1. Assemble on a stable, flat surface.
2. Install PTFE tape (not included)
onto Adapter (10) threads.
3. Install Discharge Valve (11) in closed
position with handle facing left, onto Adapter.
Place Lock Nut (12) onto Nozzle (13).
4. Install PTFE tape onto Nozzle threads.
5. Thread Nozzle into Discharge Valve until
hand tight with Lip facing up, loosen if
necessary so that Lip faces up.
6. Tighten Lock Nut with spanner wrench.
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY: Install PTFE tape correctly so tape
does not obstruct valve operation.
7. Wrap PTFE tape around threads
of Pressure Gauge (3).
8. Install Pressure Gauge onto Tank (1).
9. Wrap PTFE tape around threads
of Quick Coupler (9).
10. Install Quick Coupler to Fill Valve (8).

Operating Instructions
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this
manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.
Tire Area Set Up
1. Designate a work area that is clean and well-lit.
The work area must not allow access by
children or pets to prevent injury.
2. Secure tire and rim in place on a flat level
surface before attempting to seat tire bead.
General Operation
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY AND DEATH FROM
EXPLOSION:
Do not fill Bead Seater beyond 120 psi.
1. Close Discharge Valve (11).
2. Open Fill Valve (8).
3. Connect air hose to Quick Coupler (9).
4. Turn on air compressor (not included)
and adjust to appropriate psi.
CAUTION!: To prevent damage to tire and rim do not
put more than 40 psi into tire while seating bead.
5. Fill Bead Seater Tank (1) to appropriate
psi for tire, but do not exceed 120 psi.
6. Close Fill Valve.
7. Disconnect air hose.
8. Turn off air compressor.
9. Clean bead mating surfaces on tire and rim.
Note: Inspect rim for cracks and corrosion. If
found, clean and replace as necessary.
10. Mix bead lubricant (not included) properly
to ensure correct bead seating.
11. Apply lubricant to bead mating surface on tire.
12. Ensure tire and rim are secured on a
flat level surface. The tire and rim may
move suddenly while seating them.
13. Use appropriate fitting to connect air hose to tire
valve stem so that air flows into valve stem.
14. Turn on air compressor.
15. Adjust air compressor to proper psi for tire inflation.
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:
Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles,
heavy-duty work gloves and hearing protection.
16. Hook Bead Seater Nozzle (13) Lip on rim.
17. Firmly grip handle and Discharge Valve.
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:
Keep hands away from tire and rim mating area.
18. Rapidly open Discharge Valve.
19. Close Discharge Valve. Check to see
that tire is properly seated to rim. Repeat
steps 1 through 18 if necessary.
20. Allow tire to fill to appropriate psi with air hose.
21. Remove air hose from tire valve stem.
22. Turn off air compressor.
23. Open Discharge Valve on Bead Seater.
24. Point Nozzle down to allow moisture drainage.
25. Close Discharge Valve.

Maintenance and Servicing
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must
be performed only by a qualified technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM BEAD SEATER FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs,
have the problem corrected before further use.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication
1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general
condition of the Bead Seater. Check for:
• loose hardware,
• misalignment or binding of moving parts,
• cracked or broken parts,
• any other condition that may
affect its safe operation.
2. AFTER USE, wipe external surfaces of
the Bead Seater with a clean cloth.
Maintenance Schedule
Following are general guidelines for maintenance checks of the Bead Seater.
Note: The environment in which the Bead Seater
is used, and the frequency of use will affect how
often you will need to check the Bead Seater
components and perform maintenance procedures.
Daily:
a. Make sure all connections are tight.
b. Drain moisture from air tank.
c. Check for abnormal noise or vibration.
d. Check for air leaks by applying soapy
water to joints while the Bead Seater is
pressurized. Look for air bubbles.
e. Wipe off any oil or dirt from Bead
Seater with a damp cloth, using a
mild detergent or mild solvent.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.

return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
