• Do not depress trigger when connecting the air
supplyhose.
• Always use attachments designed for use with air
powered impacttools.
• Do not use the tool if it has beendamaged.
• Use rated accessories recommended by MacTools
only. Inspect accessories before use. Do not use
cracked or damaged accessories. Just because the
accessory can be attached to your power tool, it
does not assure safeoperation.
• Never trigger the tool when not applied to a work
object. Attachments must be securely attached.

• Check air hoses for weak or worn condition before

and long hair away from the moving end oftool.
• Accessories and tools can get hot during
operation. Wear gloves when touchingthem.
• Do not discard the safety instructions; give them
to theoperator.

• Do not modify this tool. Modifications can reduce
the effectiveness of safety measures and increase
the risks to theoperator.
• Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always
check for damaged or loose hoses andfittings.
WARNING: (Air and Supply and Connections)
• Do not use oxygen, combustible gases, or bottled
gases as a power source for this tool as the tool
may explode, possibly causinginjury.
• Do not use supply sources which can potentially
exceed 200 PSI (13.8 Bar) as tool may burst,
possibly causinginjury.
• The connector on the tool must not hold pressure
when air supply is disconnected. If a wrong fitting
is used, the tool can remain charged with air after
disconnecting and thus will be able to after the air
line is disconnected possibly causinginjury.
• Before connecting the tool to the air inlet, ensure
the trigger is not blocked in the on position by
anobstacle.
• The pneumatic tool must be fitted and connected
to the compressed air network via quick
disconnects to facilitate shutdown in the event
ofdanger.
• In the event of blockage, release the trigger
and disconnect the tool from the compressed
airnetwork.
• Be sure all hoses and fittings are the correct size
and are tightlysecured.
WARNING: Do not operate tool if:
• There is any damage to air hose or fitting.
• The tool leaks air.
• The tool has received a sharp blow, malfunctions
or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return
tool to the nearest authorized service facility for
examination, repair, or mechanicaladjustment.

• Tool is not in proper working order. Tags and
physical segregation shall be used forcontrol.

combustible or explosive. Using the fastenerer in
any such environment could cause an EXPLOSION

• For overhead work, wear a safetyhelmet.
• If the tool appears to malfunction, remove
from use immediately and arrange for service
andrepair.
• The tool is not electrically insulated. Never use
the tool if there is any chance of it coming into
contact with liveelectricity.
• Do not lock, tape, wire, etc., the on/off trigger in
the run position. The trigger must always be free
to return to the “off” position when it isreleased.
• Never lay a tool down unless the working
attachment has stoppedmoving.
• Always ensure that the forward/reverse switch is
in the desired position before starting thetool.
• Do not use sockets with excessive wear to the
input or output drives. Periodically check the
square drive on the impact wrench.Make surer
the socket, extension bar, or other attachment is
securely fitted before operatingtool.
• When loosening fasteners first ensure that there
is sufficient clearance behind the tool to avoid
hand entrapment. The tool will move away from
the threaded joint as the nut/bolt is loosened and
rides up the thread, moving the tool withit.

• When performing any maintenance or repairs,
• When elevating, lowering or otherwise moving

• When the life of the tool has expired, it is
recommended that the tool be disassembled,
degreased and parts be separated by material so
that they can berecycled.

Intended Use
This air ratchet is designed for driving, tightening and
loosening threaded fasteners, usually nuts and bolts, when
fitted with a suitable socket. Always use extension bars,
universal joints and socket adapters between the square
output drive of the air ratchet and the female square drive
of thesocket.
DO NOT use the tool for any other purpose than that
specified without consulting the manufacturer or the
manufacturer’s authorized supplier. To do so may
bedangerous.
Never use the air ratchet as a hammer to dislodge or
straighten cross threaded fasteners. Never attempt to modify
the tool for otheruses.
DO NOT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids orgases.
This air ratchet is a professional powertool.
DO NOT let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use
thistool.

Work Stations
Your air ratchet should only be used as a hand operated
tool. It is always recommended that the tool is used when
standing with solid footing. It can be used in other positions
but before any such use, the operator must be in a secure
position having a firm grip and footing and be aware that
when loosening fasteners the tool can move quite quickly
away from the fastener being undone. An allowance must
always be made for this rearward movement so as to avoid
the possibility of hand/arm/bodyentrapment.
Features
Forward/Reverse Switch (Fig. A)
The forward/reverse switch 5 allows the tool to operate in a
forward or reverse direction for easier and robustoperation.
3/8" and 1/2" Square Drive (Fig. A)
The 3/8" and 1/2" square drive 1 allows the attachment of
3/8" and 1/2" drivesockets.
Sealed Head (Fig. A)
The sealed head 6 design prevents yoke spread under
heavy torqueapplication.
Rubber Grip Handle (Fig. A)
This air tool has a rubber grip handle 4 made of molded
thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) designed for improved
comfort, slippage reduction, and better tool control.
Variable Speed Trigger (Fig. A)
The variable speed trigger 2 allows the operator to control
the start and stop of the airtool.
1/4" Inlet (Fig. B)
The tool’s 1/4" inlet 3 located at the bottom of the handle
is used for connecting an air supply with a standard 1/4"
NPT Americanthread.

Torque Assist™ Clutch (Fig. C)
The integrated Torque Assist™ clutch 7 is designed to
give the user control by limiting torque as needed. This
can prevent damaging fasteners and reduce kickback in
tightening applications. The Torque Assist™ clutch features
two settings and a max setting to deliver fullpower.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS

Attaching and Removing Square Drive
Anvils (Fig. A)
Your tool is supplied with two anvils, a 3/8" square drive
anvil 8 and a 1/2" square drive anvil 9 , suitable for use
with the corresponding sized sockets. To install an anvil just
push it into the square drive 1 until you hear a "click". The
anvil can be installed on the front or back of the head in
order to enable you to more versatility to get the tool into
tight spaces morecomfortably.
To remove the anvil from the air ratchet, push the button on
the back of the anvil and slide the unitout.
Air Supply (Fig. D)
The recommended hook-up is shown in Figure D.
Pneumatic tools operate on a wide range of air pressures.
For maximum efficiency and longer tool life, the pressure of
the air supplied to these tools MUST not exceed the rated
PSI at the tool when the tool is running. Using a higher than
rated pressure will cause faster wear and drastically shorten

the tool’s life. A higher air pressure can also cause an unsafe
condition andexplosion.
The inside diameter of the hose should be increased to
compensate for unusually long air hoses (over 25 feet
[7.6m]). Minimum hose diameter should be 3/8" (10mm)
I.D. and fittings should have 1/4" NPTthread.
The use of air line lubricators and air line filters is
recommended to prevent water in the line that can
damage the tool. Drain the air tank daily. Clean the air
inlet filter screen on at least a weekly schedule to remove
accumulated dirt or other matter that can restrict airflow.
The tool’s air inlet used for connecting an air supply has
standard 1/4" NPT American thread.

OPERATION

Proper Hand Position (Fig. E)

ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.

Proper hand position requires one hand on the rubber grip
handle 4 .

Prepping the Air Tool
WARNING: Risk of unsafe operation. Firmly grasp air
hose with hand when installing or disconnenting to
prevent hosewhip.
WARNING: Risk of bursting. Too much air pressure
causes a hazardous risk of bursting. Check the
manufacturer’s maximum pressure rating for air tools
and accessories. The regulator output pressure must
never exceed the maximum pressurerating.
• Drain water from air compressor tank and condensation
from air lines. (Please refer to air compressor’s
operationmanual.)
• Lubricate the tool. (Please refer to the Maintenance
section in the manual.)
• Connect the air ratchet to air source with the hose of
recommendedsize.
Operating Procedures
Air Supply (Fig. D)
CAUTION: This air tool requires lubrication BEFORE
initial use, also before and after each additionaluse.
WARNING: Use a clean lubricated air supply that
will give a measured air pressure at the tool of
90PSI/6.2bar when the tool is running with the
trigger fully depressed.
Use recommended hose size. It is recommended that the
tool is connected to the air supply as shown in FigureD.
Do not connect the tool to the air line system without
incorporating an easy to reach and operate air shut off
valve. The air supply should be lubricated. It is strongly
recommended that an air filter, regulator, lubricator (FRL)
is used as shown in Figure D as this will supply clean,
lubricated air at the correct pressure to the tool. Details of
such equipment can be obtained from your supplier. If such
equipment is not used then the tool should be lubricated by
shutting off the air supply to the tool and then
depressurizing the line by pressing the trigger on the tool.
Disconnect the air line and pour into the air inlet 1teaspoon
of a suitable pneumatic motor lubricating oil, preferably
incorporating a rust inhibitor. Reconnect tool to air supply
and run tool slowly for a few seconds to allow air to circulate
theoil.
Lubricate tool daily if used frequently, or when it starts to
slow or losepower.
Start-Up (Fig. A, F)
1. Turn on the air compressor and allow the air tank to
befilled.
2. Set the air compressor regulator to 90 PSI (6.2 Bar)
This air tool operates at a maximum of 90 PSI (6.2 Bar)
airpressure.
3. Adjust the forward/reverse switch 5 to either forward
or reverseposition.

4. Depress the variable speed trigger 2 to start operating

Shut-Down (Fig. A)
1. Release the variable speed trigger 2 in order to stop
thetool.
2. When changing sockets, always disconnect air supply
to avoidinjury.
3. When job is completed, turn off the air compressor and
store the air tool afterlubrication.
Operating Instructions
1. Securely fit the socket or attachment to the airratchet.
2. Ensure that the forward/reverse switch is in the correct
position for tightening or loosening thefastener.
3. The nut/bolt can then run down the thread using the
power drive of the tool. For loosening a joint the tool
can be used in the reversesequence.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal

attachments or accessories. An accidental start‑up
can causeinjury.
Lubrication
Air tools require lubrication throughout the lifetime of
thetools.
The air motor and bearing uses compressed air to power
the tool. The compressed air contains moisture that will rust
the air motor and other parts in side of the tools, therefore
lubrication is required daily. Failure to lubricate the air tool
properly will dramatically shorten the life of the tool and will
void the warranty
CAUTION:This air tool requires lubrication BEFORE
initial use, also before and after each additionaluse.
To Lubricate the Air Tool Manually
1. Remove any attachment on the drive of air tools, such
as: sockets, chisels andetc.
2. Disconnect the tool from the air supply source, place
the air inlet faceup.
3. Depress the trigger and place about 1 teaspoon of air
tool oil into the air inlet. (Depressing the trigger will help
circulate oil in the motor.)
NOTE: Use SAE #10 weight oil if air tool oil is
notavailable.
WARNING: Keep out of the reach of children. If
taken internally, do not induce vomiting, call a
doctorimmediately.
WARNING: Any excess oil in the motor is immediately
expelled from the exhaust port. Always direct exhaust
port away from people orobjects.
4. Connect the tool to an air source, cover the exhaust end
with a towel and run for about 20 to 30seconds.
5. After every 48 hours or operation, or as experience
indicates, inject about 1 teaspoon of approved
pneumatic grease into the greasefitting.
Storage
The air tool must be lubricated beforestoring.
Follow Steps 1–3 in To Lubricate the Air ToolManually.
Cleaning
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with
clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk
of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye
protection when performingthisprocedure.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non‑metallic parts of
the tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic
materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened
only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid
get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool
into aliquid.
Accessories
WARNING: Since accessories, other than those
offered by MacTools, have not been tested with this
product, use of such accessories with this tool could be
hazardous. To reduce the risk of injury, only MacTools
recommended accessories should be used with
thisproduct.
