Toasting bread
• Before each use, make sure the device is clean and dry.
• Place the device on a at, stable surface, in a place where it cannot fall over.
• Before using it for the rst time, operate the toaster without bread for 3 times at the maximum browning level “7”,
by turning the toasting level knob 5 counterclockwise to position 7.
• When using the device for the rst time, a slight odour and smoke might occur, this is normal. The odour
and smoke will disappear after a few minutes.
• For toasting slices of bread or bagels, make sure the toasting level knob 5is set to the 1 position.
• To set the level of browning, turn the toasting level knob 5 to the desired setting. There are 7 toasting levels
for dierent browning levels. Position 1 is the lightest browning level (± 1 min); level 7 the darkest (± 3.5 min).
For the best results we recommend browning level 4 or 5. The numbers on the toasting level knob are not time
indications. They serve only as a guide for the browning level.
• Insert one slice of bread or half a bagel per toaster slot 1and lower the bread slot by pushing the lever 2
down until it locks in place.
• The device switches on automatically and starts to toast.
• When the set browning level is reached, the lever goes up automatically and the device switches off

• To reheat already toasted slices of bread; insert one slice of bread per toaster slot 1and lower the slot with
the lever 2until it locks in place and push the “Reheat” button 6. The LED light of the “REHEAT” button lights
up. When the slice of bread is reheated (± 30 sec), the lever goes up automatically and the LED light of the
“REHEAT” button no longer lights up. The set browning level is not active during reheat mode.
• When defrosting, insert one slice of frozen bread per toaster slot 1and lower the bread slot by pushing the
lever 2 down until it locks in place, then push the ‘DEFROST” button 3. The LED light of the “DEFROST”
button lights up. The device automatically starts to defrost the slice of bread. When the slice of bread is
defrosted (± 4 min), the lever goes up automatically and the light of the “DEFROST” button no longer lights up.
The set browning level is not active during defrost mode.
• Dierences in bread types, moisture content and thickness of the individual slices aect the browning level of
the toast. Always try a lower browning level rst.
• For toasting dry bread, use a lower browning level, as dry bread browns faster than fresh bread.
• For dark bread (such as wheat bread), use a higher browning level than for light bread.
• For large slices of dark bread, use only the highest browning level “7”. Do not use the highest browning level
for other types of bread, as the bread will be not edible due to the fact that it is burnt.
• Lower the browning level by approximately 1 level, when toasting 1 slice of bread instead of 2 slices, in order
to achieve the same level of browning as with two pieces of bread.
