of an imminently dangerous situaon

General information
This Manual has been prepared by the Manufacturer
with the intenon of providing the operators with the
informaon necessary for using the liing equipment
safely.
This Manual contains all the informaon necessary
for the user.
The operators must use the accessory for the purposes
envisaged and idened in this Manual.
The informaon should be read carefully and strictly
applied.
Failure to comply with this informaon can lead to
risk for the health and safety of persons and result in
damage to objects.
The documentaon must be kept safe in good
condion by the equipment user in a suitable place,
inside the vehicle cab, so that it is always readily
available for consultaon.
If lost or damaged, contact the Manufacturer directly
for replacement documentaon, indicang the
Manual code and accessory code.
The Manual reects the state-of-the-art at the me
of release of the product on the market.
The Manufacturer reserves the right to make changes,
addions or improvements to the Manual, without
however resulng in this publicaon being considered
as inadequate.
All modicaons to the documentaon are made
in a controlled manner, and the dierent revisions
ensure the traceability for associaon of the Manual
to dierent models of the product released on the
market.

Information regarding safety
The manufacturer demands compliance with the
following requirements:
• carefully read the instrucons given in this manual;
• personnel involved in any acvity should have
the technical skills and must be equipped with
the professional work tools used in suitable
environments;
• those operang on the product should be provided
with suitable personal protecon equipment, in
accordance with the legislaon of the country
concerned;
• use the equipment only for the purposes envisaged
by the Manufacturer. Improper use can be a source
of risk for the health and safety of persons and can
cause damage to objects;
• for carrying out maintenance in areas that are
not easily accessible or are potenally hazardous,
provide adequate safety condions for self and
others, in compliance with the legislaon in the
country concerned, on maers of safety;
• maintenance, inspecon and repairs must be
carried out solely by a qualied maintenance
technician who is aware of the hazard condions;
• the skilled maintenance technician must always
work with utmost care and in strict compliance
with the safety standards;
• when using the equipment, the operators must
wear professional clothing and/or personal
protecon equipment, if necessary, indicated
in the operang instrucons provided by the
Manufacturer and those envisaged by the
legislaon in force in the country concerned on
maers of occupaonal safety;
• replace worn components with genuine spare
parts;
• do not dump pollung material in the environment
and proceed with disposal in compliance with the
legislaons on the maer in force in the country
concerned.
The manufacturer declines all responsibilies in the
following cases:
• if the product is not used correctly in compliance
with the naonal legislaon and/or regulaons
regarding workplace safety;
• incorrect maintenance, lack of maintenance or
failure to comply with the instrucons provided in
this Manual;
• modicaons or tampering;
• use of the equipment by untrained unskilled
personnel.
The operang safety depends on strict compliance
with the prescripons in this Manual, especially:
• always work within the limits of use of the product
(see rang plate);
• always carry out careful maintenance according to
the schedule dened by the manufacturer;
• contact qualied and authorized service centres
for carrying out inspecons and maintenance;
• use only genuine spare parts.

For all requests for assistance, the customer must
contact our Technical Assistance Service or our
dealers network directly, indicang the data given on
the equipment idencaon plate and the type of
problem encountered.
Spare parts
To order spare parts or equipment required, the
customer can contact our Technical Assistance
Service directly, indicang the equipment model and
its Serial No.

Identification plate
Magni T.H. equipment is designed to provide the Customer high level of simplicity of use and maintenance.
However, before use, the operator must carefully read and gain complete familiarity with the methods of applicaon
and use of it and all the aspects concerning safe use as described in this Use and Maintenance Manual.

The idencaon plate and the funconal sckers must be kept in good condion to ensure that all the data they
contain are always legible over me.
If they are damaged and/or no longer legible, even only in part, it is the owner’s responsibility to contact the
manufacturer for a replacement, indicang the equipment idencaon data and proceed with replacement.
To order spare parts or for all technical informaon, the customer must always indicate the product code and the
relave Serial No. present on the ID plate axed on the equipment structure.
For all requests for assistance, the customer must contact our Technical Assistance Service or our dealers network
directly, indicang the data given on the equipment idencaon plate and the type of problem encountered.

Introduction
The user must strictly follow the indicaons given
below:
The Manufacturer has designed this equipment
accurately, with the help of appropriate tools and
technologies to ensure its safety; however, it is dicult
to assess all the work situaons the equipment may
be subject to in dierent operang condions.
Consequently, the conductor is responsible not
only for following the indicaons given in this Use
and Maintenance Manual, but also for adopng
the methods for use that take into account the
provisions and legislaon on the maer of health and
occupaonal safety in force in the country in which
the equipment is used, associated with responsible
use of the equipment, with the capacity of foreseeing
and prevenng potenal danger situaons generated
by special logisc, climac, visibility and health
condions of the conductor.
Operaons or movements not described in the Use
and Maintenance Manual must be avoided; the
person using the vehicle for purposes other than
those recommended must rst ensure his own safety,
the safety of others and correct handling of the
equipment.

Read the Use and Maintenance Manual carefully;
Before using the equipment, ensure its compability
with the forkli truck with which it is to be used;
Become acquainted with the operang area: quality of
the road surface, obstacles on the ground or high up;
Operang temperature: min -15 °C (5 °F); max +45 °C
(113 °F);
Comply with the data indicated on the load charts.
Do not aempt to li weights exceeding those
permied on the load charts enclosed with this
manual and aached to the vehicle, under any
circumstances whatsoever;
If the liing capacity of the equipment is dierent
from that of the crane, take the lesser of the two as
the maximum limit;
The equipment must not be modied to increase its
liing capacity;
Keep the load low and with the telescopic boom
completely retracted;
Adjust the forkli truck speed to the ground
condions;
Avoid sudden movements while handling the load;
especially where these are powered, or it
their state is not known.

Only transport loads that are properly balanced;
The equipment must be lowered to the ground in
a hazard-free area devoid of obstacles;
The empty hook must be lowered gently, to prevent
abnormal stresses on the rope which can damage the
rope itself or the equipment structure;
Never leave the forkli truck parked with a raised
load;
The operator must stop using the vehicle if visibility
and lighng condions are poor;
While working at heights, check constantly to make
sure the wind speed never exceeds 45 km/h (28 mph).
In case of strong wind, retract the equipment
immediately, as the specic wind pressure on hanging
loads can overload the forkli truck and aect its
stability;
Avoid using the equipment in especially adverse
weather condions (rain storms in the presence of
lightning);
The forkli truck, carrying equipment ed with
ropes, must be inspected periodically as envisaged
for liing equipment, in compliance with legislaon,
provisions and regulaons applicable in the country
of use. The user alone is responsible for ensuring
compliance with the legislaon in force;
Before starng work with the equipment or other
liing equipment with hook, inform the authories
responsible for inspecons in your area;
Request the body responsible in the country of
operaon for yearly inspecons.
How to hook the equipment

the end part of the boom
with the quick-t coupling
retracted suitably to t it in
the hooking seat;
• t the equipment with the
boom head quick-t coupling;
• lt the boom head coupling
round to the equipment
frame to insert the shear pin;
• insert the retainer pin 1 into the hole present on
the connecng ange of the boom aligned with the
hole present on the equipment hooking structure;
• insert the split shear pin in the hole present
on the pin which is integral with the equipment
structure in such a manner as to prevent it from
coming loose;
• connect the hydraulic system of the equipment
to the connectors on the head of the vehicle’s
telescopic boom [when present];
• connect the electrical system of the equipment
to the connectors on the head of the vehicle’s
telescopic boom [when present].
Vehicles produced by Magni T.H. are equipped with
idencaon soware that recognises the equipment
connected and which enables movements and specic
safety systems according to the type of equipment
connected.

When coupling the equipment:
• press the GREEN buon to conrm the equipment
recognised by the soware and standard
calibraon of the safety parameters;
• press the RED buon if the equipment is not ed
or is recognised incorrectly.

Before using the winch, it must be disconnected from
its base.
Remove the split pin and the shear pins from the
support rods, then li the winch to free it.
Insert the shear pins back into the support rods and
block them with the split pins, then place the support
in a sheltered area.

Conditions for using the equipment in case of wind
The equipment can also be used if wind is present, provided it does not exceed Grade 6 of the Beaufort Scale
(speed 45 km/h; 28 mi/h; 12.5 m/s);
For visual idencaon of this speed, refer to the Beaufort Scale below for empiric evaluaon of the wind speed.

Management of the controls
The equipment, like the enre vehicle, can only be
operated if the following condions are met:
• operator sing correctly in the driver’s seat,
• pressing the movement enable buon (DEAD
MAN’S SWITCH) behind each joysck.
If one or both of the aforemenoned condions is not
present, all the commands imparted are inhibited and
this fault is signalled by means of a ashing light on
the control panel on the side of the seat.

of the vehicle clockwise;

• : rotate the roller backwards to lower the hook.

radio control
1. RPM switch: makes it possible to increase or decrease
the I.C. engine speed;
emergency stop buon: if pressed, it instantly stops
all movements;
3. HARE/TORTOISE switch: changes the actuaon speed
of the hydraulic commands given;
RH joysck;
5. switch: changes the preset operang
programs for each accessory (if present);
6. Load diagram indicaon LED: simulates the load
percentage applied to the accessory;
7. switch: enables lng of the accessory
or its specic funcons;
8. LH joysck;
9. buon to connect radio control → forkli truck;
10. main radio control switch;
11. emergency pump acvaon buon;
wiring connector socket for liing plaorm.
Batteries
In the centre of the radio control under the emergency
buon are the LEDs for checking operaon of the radio
control and the charging state of the baeries.
:
• not acve indicates that the radio control is switched
o;
• slow ashing indicates that the radio control is
switched on but is not connected to the vehicle;
• fast ashing indicates that the radio control is
connected to the vehicle properly and is working.
:
• not acve indicates the correct charging level of the
baeries;
• on ashing indicates the low charging level of the
baeries;
• on steady indicates a malfuncon of the radio control.
To recharge the baery, remove it from the underside of
the radio control and insert it into the charger in the cab.

To acvate the radio control, proceed as follows:
• start the vehicle and conrm the accessory on the
mulple funcon display in the cab by pressing the
green buon;
• stabilise the vehicle with the reverse gear
in NEUTRAL and parking brake engaged;
• on the CONTROLS PAGE or STABILISERS PAGE
on the mulple funcon display, acvate the radio
control connecon buon;
• turn the radio control on with the aforemenoned
switch [10] and make sure the red emergency
buon is not locked in the safety posion; check
this condion by rotang the buon clockwise;
• press the green buon [9] to enable the connecon.
Connecon is indicated by the vehicle horn making
a warning sound.
If connecon between the radio control and the
forkli truck has been interrupted by the red
emergency buon being pressed (for the vehicle or
radio control), reacvate it as follows:
• reset the red emergency buon by rotang it
anclockwise;
• press the green radio control buon once
to reacvate the radio control/forkli truck
connecon, conrmed by the vehicle horn making
a warning sound;
• press the green radio control buon again to start
the vehicle’s I.C. engine, conrmed by the vehicle
horn making a warning sound.
• : move the joysck forwards to lower the
telescopic boom;
• : move the joysck backwards to raise the
telescopic boom;
• move the joysck to
the RH to rotate the accessory downwards;
• : move the joysck to
the LH to rotate the accessory upwards;
• : move the
joysck to the RH to li the hook;
• : move the
joysck to the LH to lower the hook;
• : move the joysck forwards to remove the
telescopic boom;
• : move the joysck backwards to retract the
telescopic boom;
• D1: move the joysck to the RH to rotate the turret
of the vehicle clockwise;
• : move the joysck to the LH to rotate the turret
of the vehicle anclockwise.
