Cordless Chain saw safety warnings
1 . Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain when the chain saw is operating. Before
you start the chain saw, make sure the saw
chain is not contacting anything. A moment of
inattention w h ile operating c h ain saw s may c ause
entanglement of y our c loth ing or bod y w ith th e
saw c h ain.
2. Always hold the chain saw with your right
hand on the rear handle and your left hand on
the front handle. H old ing th e c h ain saw w ith a
reversed hand conguration increases the risk of
personal injury and should never be done.
3. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces only, because the saw chain may con-
tact hidden wiring. S aw c h ains c ontac ting a " liv e"
w ire may make ex posed metal parts of th e pow er
tool " liv e" and c ould giv e th e operator an elec tric
sh oc k.
4 . W ear safety glasses and hearing protection.
F urth er protec tiv e eq uipment f or h ead , h and s,
legs and f eet is rec ommend ed . A d eq uate protec -
tive clothing will reduce personal injury by ying
d ebris or ac c id ental c ontac t w ith th e saw c h ain.
5 . Do not operate a chain saw in a tree. O peration
of a c h ain saw w h ile up in a tree may result in
personal injury.
6 . Always keep proper footing and operate the
chain saw only when standing on xed, secure
and level surface. S lippery or unstable surf ac es
suc h as lad d ers may c ause a loss of balanc e or
c ontrol of th e c h ain saw .
7. W hen cutting a limb that is under tension be
alert for spring back. W h en th e tension in th e
wood bres is released the spring loaded limb may
strike th e operator and / or th row th e c h ain saw out
of c ontrol.
8 . Use extreme caution when cutting brush and
saplings. T h e slend er material may c atc h th e saw
c h ain and be w h ipped tow ard y ou or pull y ou of f
balanc e.
9 . Carry the chain saw by the front handle with
the chain saw switched off and away from your
body. W hen transporting or storing the chain
saw always t the guide bar cover. P roper
h and ling of th e c h ain saw w ill red uc e th e likelih ood
of ac c id ental c ontac t w ith th e mov ing saw c h ain.
1 0. Follow instructions for lubricating, chain ten-
sioning and changing accessories. I mproperly
tensioned or lubric ated c h ain may eith er break or
inc rease th e c h anc e f or kic kbac k.
1 1 . Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and
grease. G reasy , oily h and les are slippery c ausing
loss of c ontrol.
1 2. Cut wood only. Do not use chain saw for pur-
poses not intended. For example: do not use
chain saw for cutting plastic, masonry or non-
wood building materials. U se of th e c h ain saw
f or operations d if f erent th an intend ed c ould result
in a h az ard ous situation.
1 3. Causes and operator prevention of kickback:
Kic kbac k may oc c ur w h en th e nose or tip of th e
guide bar touches an object, or when the wood
c loses in and pinc h es th e saw c h ain in th e c ut.
T ip c ontac t in some c ases may c ause a sud d en
rev erse reac tion, kic king th e guid e bar up and
bac k tow ard s th e operator. P inc h ing th e saw c h ain
along th e top of th e guid e bar may push th e guid e
bar rapid ly bac k tow ard s th e operator. Eith er of
th ese reac tions may c ause y ou to lose c ontrol of
th e saw w h ic h c ould result in serious personal
injury. Do not rely exclusively upon the safety
d ev ic es built into y our saw . A s a c h ain saw user,
y ou sh ould take sev eral steps to keep y our c utting
jobs free from accident or injury.
Kic kbac k is th e result of tool misuse and / or inc or-
rec t operating proc ed ures or c ond itions and c an be
av oid ed by taking proper prec autions as giv en below :
•
Maintain a rm grip, with thumbs and
ngers encircling the chain saw handles,
with both hands on the saw and position
your body and arm to allow you to resist
kickback forces. Kic kbac k f orc es c an be c on-
trolled by th e operator, if proper prec autions
are taken. D o not let go of th e c h ain saw .

• Do not overreach and do not cut above
shoulder height. T h is h elps prev ent unin-
tend ed tip c ontac t and enables better c ontrol
of th e c h ain saw in unex pec ted situations.
• Only use replacement bars and chains
specied by the manufacturer. I nc orrec t
replac ement bars and c h ains may c ause
c h ain breakage and / or kic kbac k.
• Follow the manufacturer’ s sharpening
and maintenance instructions for the saw
chain. D ec reasing th e d epth gauge h eigh t
c an lead to inc reased kic kbac k.
14. Before starting work, check that the chain
saw is in proper working order and that its
condition complies with the safety regulations.
Check in particular that:
• T h e c h ain brake is w orking properly ;
• T h e run-d ow n brake is w orking properly ;
The bar and the sprocket cover are tted
c orrec tly ;
• T h e c h ain h as been sh arpened and ten-
sioned in ac c ord anc e w ith th e regulations.
15. Do not start the chain saw with the chain cover
being installed on it. S tarting th e c h ain saw w ith
th e c h ain c ov er being installed on it may c ause
th e c h ain c ov er to th row n out f orw ard resulting in
personal injury and damage to objects around the
operator.
16. Avoid dangerous environment. Don' t use the
tool in damp or wet locations or expose it to
rain. W ater entering the tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
1 7. Do not dispose of the battery(ies) in a re. The
cell may explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions.
18. Do not open or mutilate the battery(ies).
Released electrolyte is corrosive and may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be
toxic if swallowed.
19. Do not charge battery in rain, or in wet
locations.
