use circular saw for cutting tree limbs or logs.

DRESS PROPERLY. Don't wear loose clothing orjewelry. They canbe caught
in moving parts. Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended
when workingoutdoors. Wear protective hair covering tocontain long hair.
8.
USE SAFETY GLASSES. Also use face or dust mask
if
cutting operation is
dusty.
9.
DON'T ABUSE CORD. Nevercarry tool by cord or yank
it
todisconnect from
receptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil, and sharp edges.

SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a vise to hold work. It's safer than using
your hand and
it
frees both hands to operate tool.

DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools sharp and clean for better and
safer performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing acces-
sories. Inspect toolcords periodicallyand
if
damaged, haverepairedbyautho-
rized service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace
if
damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

DISCONNECTTOOLS. When not
in
use, beforeservicing, and when chang-
ing accessories, such as blades, bits, cutters.

REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES. Form habit of checking to
seethat keys and adjusting wrenches are removedfrom tool before turning
it
on.
15.
AVOID UNINTENTIONALSTARTING. Don't carry toolwith finger onswitch.
Be sure switch is OFF when plugging in.
16.
EXTENSION CORDS. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough
to
carry
the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop
inline voltage resultingin
loss
of power and overheating. Table
1
shows the
correct size to use depending
on
cord lengthand nameplate ampere rating.
If
in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage number, the
heavier the cord.

Precautionsin use
Check for cracks inthe depressed center wheel and for loose or missing screws.
Always use the guard. Itcan preventan accident if
a
wheel should ever break.
Before usingthe disc grinder on an actualworkpiece, let itsimply runfor severalminutes
first. Watch for flutter that might be caused by poor installation
or
a
poorly balanced
wheel.
Choose
a
wheel grade in terms of the workpiece material.
How
to use
Installingthe depressedcenterwheel
Unplugthe tool from the power source and
performthe following steps:
1.
Place the depressedcenter wheel flange
on the spindle. (Fig.
1)
2.
Fit the depressed center grinding wheel
over the flange. (Fig.
1)
3.
Screw the lock nut onto the spindle. (Fig.
1)
4.
To
tighten the wheel lock nut, lock the
shaft in place by depressing with your
index finger the pin
on
the lower front of
the tool
so
that itcannot rotate, then use
the lock nut wrench and tighten firmly in
clockwisedirection. (Fig.
2)

Switch
action
CAUTION:
Before plugging inthe tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly
and returnsto the
"OFF"
position when released.
For
Model
9005B
To
start the tool, simply
pull
the trigger.
Release the trigger to stop.
For
continuous operation, pull the trigger
and then push in the lock button.
To
stop
the tool from the locked position, pull the
trigger
fully,
then release it.
For
Model
9005BZ
To
start the tool, simply pull the trigger

OPERATION
CAUTION:
After use, always switch off and
wait
for the wheel to come to
a
complete stop before
placingthe tool down.
Hold the tool firmly. Turn the tool on and
then apply the wheel or disc to the work-
piece.
In general, keep the edge of the wheel or
disc at an angle of about
15"
to the work-
piece surface.
During the break-in period with
a
new
wheel, do not work the grinder in the
B
direction or
it
will cut into the workpiece.
Once the edge on the wheel has been
rounded off by use, the wheel may be
worked in both A and
B
direction.

WARNING:
It
should never be necessary to force the tool. The weight of the tool applies adequate
pressure. Forcingand excessive pressure could cause dangerouswheel breakage.
Continued use of
a
worn-out wheel may result inwheel explosion and serious personal
injury. Depressed center wheel should not be used after
it
has been worn down to
90
mm
(3-1/2")
in diameter. Use of the wheel after this point is unsafe and
it
should be
removedfrom service and rendered unusable
by
intentional destruction.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and unpluggedbefore attemptingto perform
inspectionor maintenance.
Replacingcarbonbrushes
Remove and check the carbon brushes
regularly. Replacewhen they wear down to
the limit mark. Keep the carbon brushes
clean and free
to
slip in the holders. Both
carbon brushes should be replaced
at
the
same time. Use only identical carbon
brushes.

Use
a
screwdriver to remove the brush
holder caps. Take out the worn carbon
brushes, insert the new ones and secure
the brushholder caps.
