This manual must be read and understood in its entirety, and used as part of a
fall protection training program, as required by OSHA or any state/local regulatory
agencies.
The user must read and fully understand the limitations and proper use of the
equipment, and be properly trained by the employer prior to use.
NOTE: This User Instruction Manual is not to be removed except by the equipment
user. Current User Instruction Manuals must always be available to the user. Read
and understand these instructions before using equipment. Do not discard these
instructions.
Misuse or failure to follow warnings, instructions, and limitations
on the use of this equipment may result in serious personal
injury or death. For further instructions about proper use, refer

PURPOSE
The Malta Dynamics Trauma Relief Strap is a system designed to be attached to
an existing full body harness to enable a worker relief from suspension trauma until
rescue can be implemented. The Malta Dynamics Trauma Relief Strap permits
the ability to move and ex leg muscles. The ability to move and ex muscles
supports and enhances blood circulation until rescue occurs.
RESCUE
This system provides suspension relief and is not a rescue alternative. The
user is required to have a project specic written rescue plan and the means at
hand to promptly implement it. For guidance on how to prepare a project specic
written rescue plan please consult ANSI Z359.2-2007.
While using the Trauma Relief Strap after a fall event,
remain vertical. Do not attempt to recline or lie down while
using this equipment.
Refer to ANSI Z359.4-2007 for additional information on the
symptoms and treatment of suspension trauma.

IDENTIFY
This Malta Dynamics Trauma Relief Strap is composed of two parts. Ensure that
both parts are present. Take notice of their form and function: each part has a loop
for attachment to the harness.
NOTE: The straps are not side specic. Either strap can be used for the left or
right side.

HARNESS ATTACHMENT
1. Locate where the left side front and back torso straps intersect at the hip.
NOTE: The straps are not side specic.
Either strap can be used for the left or right
side.
2. Pass the buckle side of the Trauma
Relief Strap web loop behind the back
torso strap, front to back.
3. Insert the buckle through its own web
loop and pull snug to create a web choke
attachment.
4. On the opposite side, pass the pouch
side of the Trauma Relief Strap web loop
behind the back torso strap, front to back.
5. Insert the pouch through its own web
loop and pull snug to create a web choke
attachment.
6. Finish by snapping both snap loops to
the harness webbing.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION
Step 4
Stand on the
loop, making sure
thigh straps can
move freely.

Buckle straps
together using
the quick-release
mechanism
making a loop.

Adjust the sit
strap towards the
front to relieve
pressure and
allow a sitting
posture.

Place both feet
into the web sling
formed by the
connected straps.

If a fall event
occurs, locate
both straps, left
and right. Unsnap
the pouch and
fully deploy all
strapping inside.

The Trauma Relief Strap is a temporary stress relief system.
Rescue must be prompt. Do not adjust any harness buckles
while using the Trauma Relief Strap.

TRAINING
Employers must provide training to any employee who may be exposed to fall
hazards in order to enable the employee to recognize and reduce fall hazards.
Training must be conducted by an OSHA-dened Competent or Qualied Person.
Trainer and trainees must not be exposed to fall hazards during the training
course. This equipment is intended to be used by persons trained in its correct
application and use.
INSPECTION
The Malta Dynamics Trauma Relief Strap system must be included during normal
inspection. If inspection reveals any defect, inadequate maintenance, or unsafe
condition, remove from service immediately.
Note: Only Malta Dynamics may make repairs to the product. Otherwise,
equipment shall not be altered in any way.
FREQUENCY
All equipment shall be inspected prior to each use according to the manufacturer’s
instructions. Annual inspections shall also be performed by an OSHA-dened
Competent Person other than the user. All equipment should be inspected by a
Qualied Person on a regular basis.
All equipment must be free of alteration, excessive heating, chemical attack,
corrosion, or extreme wear.
All markings must be legible and attached to the equipment.

WARRANTY
The following warranty is made in lieu of all warranties or conditions, whether
expressed or implied. This includes the implied warranties or conditions of
merchantability or tness for a particular purpose.
Equipment offered by Malta Dynamics is warranted against factory defects in
workmanship and materials for a period of one year from date of installation or
rst use by the original owner.
LIMITED REMEDY: Upon notice in writing, Malta Dynamics will repair or
replace all defective items at Malta Dynamics’s sole discretion. Malta Dynamics
reserves the right to require that the defective item to be returned to its plant for
inspection before determining the appropriate course of action.
This warranty does not cover equipment damage resulting from wear, abuse,
damage in transit, failure to maintain the product or other damage beyond the
control of Malta Dynamics. Malta Dynamics shall be the sole judge of product
condition and warranty options. This warranty applies only to the original
purchaser and is the only warranty applicable to this product. Please contact

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT WILL MALTA DYNAMICS BE
