Mamava mobile app
Including your pod in our app
highlights you as a supporter of
breastfeeding mothers and helps you
ensure a more consistent experience
for your guests and/or employees.
Wayfinding
Be sure all breastfeeding and expectant mamas who may need to
use your Mamava pod know about this great amenity you’re oering.
Here are a few ways you can help them find the space easily.
(We suggest you do them all.)
1. GPS coordinates so it shows up in the
right location in the app.
2. Brief description of its location.
3. Photo of the pod and surroundings.
Restroom stickers
Place a decal outside of each women’s restroom
so that mamas know there is a designated space
for them to pump or breastfeed that is not a
bathroom.
Contact customerexperience@mamava.com for
access to the logos, templates, and other assets in
our customer portal.
When you place your pod...
When you install—and if you move
your pod—please send us the
following info so moms know where
to go and what to look for:

Directional signage
We recommend adding box signs, stand-up banners, banners,
and wall decals—they’re all great ways to help mamas find your Mamava pod.
Maps + directories (including those online!)
Add the location of your Mamava pod to maps and directories of your
facility—any guides used to indicate restrooms, elevators, or other amenities.
And don’t forget online and other digital directories (e.g., apps).

Mamava app
Via Bluetooth, the app allows mamas to open the pod with a press of a button. The app
also shows pod availability, indicates how long a user has been in the pod, oers vacancy
alerts, and helps ensure the pods remain accessible to the people who need them (not
someone who wants to charge their phone). Learn more about the app on page 12.

Pod access through:
Keypad + code
The Schlage FE575 on the pod can be unlocked with two four-digit admin codes (found on
lock manual) and four preprogrammed Mamava codes which are crucial to app-enabled
entry (if the Bluetooth connection fails between the pod and a phone). Twelve slots remain
for you to create custom codes. *Do not add more than twelve, as that will override codes
that are programmed in the app.
How to add new custom codes
First, locate your 6-digit programming code on the front of lock’s manual (provided
with pod on delivery) or on the back of the lock (requires removing lock from door).
1. Enter programming code. Wait for
three orange lights and three beeps.
2. Press the (SCHLAGE) button.
3. Press (1) and wait for three orange
lights and three beeps.
4. Enter custom four-digit code, wait for
three orange lights and three beeps.
5. Enter same four-digit code again.
6. Green light and one long beep=success.
Do not add more than twelve codes
(you’ll override crucial codes that are
programmed in the app).
Pod access through:
Physical keys
Your pod comes with two keys: a small emergency key for the deadbolt
lock and a traditional brass key for the handle that is specific to your lock.
You should buy/make duplicates of both keys.
Emergency deadbolt key
You can purchase additional
deadbolt keys from Schlage or
other retailers. Search for Schlage
61509 Emergency Release Key, B571
Occupancy Indicator Deadbolt Key.
Brass key for the handle
You should make copies of
the unique brass key. If misplaced,
you’ll need to contact a locksmith,
as we don’t keep copies.

Maintenance tip
Highly suggested amenity (not included)*
1Tables, shelves, and benches
Clean surfaces with non-toxic wipes or cleaning
products. Remember, this is a space for preparing and
serving food. A melamine foam product (e.g., Mr. Clean
Magic Eraser) will remove scus.
2Vents and fans
For best performance, we recommend vacuuming both
sides of the fan as part of your regularly scheduled
cleaning.
3Helpful signage
Providing a number to call or location to visit
if there’s a problem with the pod goes a long
way in keeping mamas happy.
4Wipes/sanitizer
If you choose to attach a dispenser for hand sanitizer
or wipes, use an industrial-strength double-sided
adhesive rather than drilling into the inside panels.
5Trash can outside
Place a trash can just outside or near the unit—not
inside, where it can lead to unpleasant odors or messes.
*For a list of Mamava’s favorite products
for keeping your pod clean and comfortable,
and ideas for additional amenities, visit:

Care + Keeping
Mamas will be grateful you’re
providing this comfortable,
private space for pumping and
nursing. They will be even more
thankful if it’s tidy and clean
when they use it.

1. The serial number is inside the door frame—
on the top of the door jamb. When contacting us about a
problem, please have this number handy.
2. Your pod is powered by one standard outlet.
The electrical cord extends two feet from either side of the
footprint of the unit. Place the pod so that the cord doesn’t span
a walkway and route the cord to prevent cord damage or tripping.
You should also inspect the cord regularly for signs of wear or
damage. If the cord becomes unplugged, the pod’s lights, fan, and
internal outlets will not work. We recommend installing an outlet
lock to prevent unauthorized people from unplugging the pod.
There will be 3 ratings for the pods
Branch Circuit: 120vAC / 20A / 2400W
Pod: 12vDC / 6.67A / 80W
Outlet: 120vAC / 13.33A / 1600W
Les caractéristiques électriques de votre cabine sont
Circuit de dérivation : 120VCA, 20A, 2400W
Cabine : 12VDC, 6.67A, 80W
Prise électrique(s) : 120VCA, 13.33A, 1600W
3. Pods are intended for indoor use only.
The exhaust fans provide white noise and help circulate air
(pulling it in from outside the unit). With this in mind, consider
the environmental conditions in the location where the pod
will be placed. Original and ADA pods can be moved easily
(on casters) if needed. The Solo pod must be disassembled
before it’s relocated and placed on a flat, level floor.
4. Let us know where your pod lives.
If your pod is for public use, we include the coordinates and
a description in the Mamava mobile app so moms can find it,
so if you move it, let us know. And don’t forgot to update your
wayfinding information! See Preparing for Your Mamava for
more on placing your pod.
4 Things to Know About Your Pod
You are the primary caretaker. Once delivered to you, your Mamava pods
are yours to love and care for. We certainly are available to help if needed.
For service or maintenance issue, please contact service@mamava.com,
submit a service form on our website, or call us at 802.347.3211.
Ask about our service plan at sales@mamava.com
Mamas will love you for this pod—if it’s
clean! You might even get a positive
shout-out on social media.
A dirty pod could get you called out
too. Common complaints: Cleanliness
issues, pod is too hot/too cold, access
issues. (And, of course, we’ll pass
along any feedback we receive on your
pod.)
Thank you @JetBlue
@JFKairport and @mamava
for a private,clean space
to breastfeed!

Make the Most Of Your Pod • 11
Start the presses!
Issuing a press release or internal release to celebrate
the arrival of your pod is just the start. Any time you
announce an event that breastfeeding mamas may
attend (we’d argue that’s almost any event), include a
mention of your pod in your communications outreach.
Host a ribbon cutting or a mixer.
Have a little party around the pod. Introduce the space
and how it works, including information about how
employees access it and what the space should NOT
be used for (anything besides pumping or nursing).
Repeat periodically or incorporate into your company’s
onboarding process. Don’t forget to mention why it’s
important to have this space.
Talk about your pod.
In newsletters and in all internal communications
(e.g., intranet), list the location of your pod(s) and
any other key information about access, etc. Be sure
breastfeeding and expectant mama employees (and
visitors) know about your pod before they need it.
Share it out on social.
From time to time, consider using social platforms like
Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to let mamas know
you have a private, clean place for them to pump or
nurse. Share out the nice comments you (no doubt!)
will receive about your Mamava pod. Tag us when you
share—we love to see what’s going on in your world
and will celebrate the love on our social channels!
Make the Most
of Your Mamava Pod
If you’ve got it, flaunt it. With this pod, you’re
oering mamas a much-needed amenity—so
shout it out from the rooftops! Or…try these
more appropriate suggestions.
Why Your Pod Is Important for Breastfeeding Mamas
• Science shows that breastfeeding is good for
babies and good for moms.
• The Fair Labor Standards Act mandates that
employers provide a space for breastfeeding
employees to pump. No bathrooms allowed.
• Without a place to pump, mothers can’t
continue to breastfeed.
• When moms don’t have to worry about
finding a place to pump, they can focus
and do their best work.

The Mamava App
Know about your pod’s smart sidekick and you’ll be
even more helpful to moms.

you may need more pods.
Easy Access
Unlock the pod with a tap
of a button. (And Bluetooth!
Ensure mom’s is on.)
Tip: If the Bluetooth fails, the app
will provide a 4-digit code to use on
the lock’s keypad instead. More in

Tip: If a mom doesn’t see any locations
in the app, suggest that she turn on
location services in her phone’s settings
and/or turn o low-power mode.
Comfort controls in the pod*
Mom can use the app to dim the
lights, reduce airflow, and listen to
Sounds for Letdown.
Did you know? Moms with baby may like
dim light, while pumping moms may prefer
brighter lighting.

comfort controls not available in
pods with serial number 768 and
lower. (See page 10 for where to
find your serial number)

Common Troubleshooting
Tips (+ Other What-Ifs?)
Mamava pods are designed to be a low-maintenance
solution for their gracious hosts. But, from time to time,
issues may arise. We want you to be prepared
with quick, ready solutions.
Moms are having trouble getting into the pod with the app.
1. Make sure the pod is located where there is a Wi-Fi connection
and/or data service is available.
2. Make sure the user’s Bluetooth and location services are turned on.
3. Make sure their low power mode is turned o.
4. Make sure the user is within three feet of the pod when trying to unlock.
The lights or fan are not functioning as expected.
Locking the deadbolt powers the pod. Is the deadbolt in the locked position
and contacting the switch in the wall panel? If so, and the lights or fan still
won’t turn on, make sure the power cord is plugged in and the wall outlet
is functioning properly. For further technical assistance, please reach out by
sending a note to service@mamava.com
Important! The 5A fuse that regulates the Pod Control Device is to be replaced
by a Trained Service Person, as designated by Mamava.
Important! Le fusible de 5 A qui régule le dispositif de commande de la cabine
doit être remplacé par un technicien de service qualifié désigné par Mamava.
Interior power outlet isn’t working.
If the pod’s fan and lights are working properly but the outlet still provides
no power, check to make sure the green indicator LED on the outlet is on.
It should be on as long as the unit itself is plugged in. If the green indicator
is on but there is no power—or if the indicator is not lit and the unit is
plugged in—there may be an issue with the outlet or electrical connection
in the pod.
Moms say the pod is too hot. (Or too cold.)
The temperature of your pod will stay at the temperature of the air around it,
give or take a few degrees. Be sure your Mamava pod is placed in a location
that is adequately serviced by your HVAC system.

You need to relocate your pod.
No problem! Original and ADA pods have casters so you can move them a short distance
as needed. For details about deploying the casters, see Assembly Instructions and Delivery
+ Installation Guide. To move your pod greater distances, across uneven floor surfaces, or if
you need to store it, please contact us about how to break down your Mamava. The Solo pod
must be disassembled before moving and placed on a flat, level floor.
Important! La Solo doit être désassemblée avant qu’on la déplace pour la poser à plat sur
une surface plane.
Reminder: If you want mamas to be able to find your pod in its new location with our app, you
need to send the new GPS coordinates, a short description, and photo in the new spot. Reach
out with a note to customerexperience@mamava.com.
Your pod is being misused.
Educate your employees or guests that it’s so important that this pod be used only for
breastfeeding and pumping, so it is available and clean for nursing mothers when they need
it. See “Why Your Pod is Important for Breastfeeding Mamas” on page 11.
You misplaced one of your keys.
Contact a locksmith if you’ve misplaced the unique brass key used to open the door handle.
You can purchase additional deadbolt keys from Schlage or other retailers. Search Schlage
61509 Emergency Release Key or B571 Occupancy Indicator Deadbolt key.
You need to get in when the deadbolt is locked.
There are several ways to get into a Mamava pod even when the deadbolt is locked.
First try this: Use the provided emergency
deadbolt key and insert into the center hole of
the occupancy indicator dial, rotate to “vacant.”
Deadbolt is now open. Unlock the keypad with
your code, or the pre-programmed “8008” code.
If that doesn’t work, use the traditional brass keys
that came with the lock.
If that doesn’t work: It is possible to access the
pod after removing either the center perforated
roof panel or, if your pod is an Original or an ADA,
either of the curved side panels. Refer to the
Disassembly Guide for instructions.
Contact sales@mamava.com about extended warranty and service plans.

You (or They) Might Wonder…
As you start spreading the word about your pod, you
might get some questions. Here are the most common
ones we hear—and how we respond.
Why isn’t there a sink in a Mamava?
Including plumbing would significantly reduce the mobility and aordability
of the pods for too many facilities.
Why isn’t there a changing station?
Mamava pods are designed for food prep. Changing diapers in a pod makes
them function more as a bathroom.
Are you hiding breastfeeding? (Of course not!)
Breastfeeding is beautiful and mamas have the right to feed their babies
however and wherever they choose. But some mamas need private spaces
to pump. Some prefer privacy for nursing or have babies who are easily
distracted. Some may need help containing a toddler while feeding an
infant.
Mamava is committed to making breastfeeding and
pumping an authentic choice by providing spaces
for nursing moms.
We can’t move our mission forward without partners,
like you, who purchase and host Mamava pods.
You are making the world a better place for breastfeeding
mothers. Thank you.
