Standard Contents
1 x Bathing Cushion
1 x User Instructions
Ensure that you have read and fully•
understand these and the separate Airo
user instructions before using the equipment.
To ensure full stability when in use, make sure•
that the sides of the Bathing Cushion touch
the sides of the bath when fully inated.
DO NOT attempt to use the• Bathing Cushion
out of a bath.
DO NOT try to raise yourself from the bottom•
of the bath until you are sitting up squarely
on the Bathing Cushion (see g. 7).
To prevent damage, always release the•
suction under each suction cup before lifting
the unit from the bath. DO NOT attempt to
release the suction by pulling up on the seat,
backrest or ‘handle’.
WARNINGS

Fitting the Bathing Cushion in the bath
Pass the air hose through the loop in the corner•
of the backrest (A g.1), on the side that you
propose getting into and out of the bath. The
air inlet valve (B) can be rotated, allowing the
hose to be led to the appropriate corner.
Fold the backrest over onto the seat as indicated•
in g. 2. Lightly place the deated Bathing
Cushion in the middle of the empty bath with
the ‘handle’ (C) aligned with the centre of the
bath.
Hold the ‘handle’ and pull the Bathing Cushion•
towards the slope of the bath until there is a
gap of approximately 25mm (1”) between the
bath slope and ‘handle’ (C gs. 2 & 3).
Press all four suction cups down and check•
that they are securely stuck to the bath. Wet
them to help them stick if necessary.
Fold the backrest out so that it rests on• the
slope of the bath.
Connecting the air hose and hand control
Battery powered Airo:
Connect the air hose from the Bathing Cushion•
to the Airo air outlet socket (D g. 4).
Connect the Push Button Hand Control (• E) to
the socket (F).
Mains powered Airo:
Connect the air hose from the Bathing Cushion•
to the Lever Hand Control (G) and connect the
Lever Hand Control air hose to the Airo air
outlet or the wall mounted air outlet socket if
using with a Mangar International plumbed-in
air system.
If preferred, a Push Button Hand Control•
extension lead and an air hose extension are
available for connecting to the mains powered
Airo outside the bathroom.

Dry trials (without water in the bath)
Select ‘Up’ on the hand control and when•
the relief valve blows (it will hiss), release the
‘Up’ button. Press rmly down on the Bathing
Cushion to secure the suction cups to the
surface of the bath. Check all four suction cups
are securely stuck to the bath. Wet them to help
them stick if necessary.
Whilst still clothed and with an assistant, carry•
out some dry ‘practice runs’ according to these
instructions (see below) until you are condent
to use the product.
Using the Bathing Cushion
WARNING: Please note that the Airo compressor
incorporates an important safety feature which will
ensure that the Bathing Cushion cannot be lowered
unless there is sufcient battery power to raise it
again. To action this feature effectively ALWAYS
INFLATE THE BATHING CUSHION USING THE
HAND CONTROL AND USE THE BATHING
CUSHION to lower yourself into the bath.
to get into the bath
Fill the bath with water at a suitable temperature•
(with the Bathing Cushion in the bath) .
With the Bathing Cushion• fully inated, sit on
the seat and then swing your legs into the bath
(g. 5). Ensure that you are seated centrally
and right at the back of the seat section.
Select ‘Down’ to lower yourself into the bath.•
Hold onto the side of the bath or to a grab
handle to steady yourself as you go down.
Note: you may nd it more comfortable to leave
a small amount of air in the Bathing Cushion,
to cushion yourself on the bottom of the bath
(g. 6).

to get out of the bath
When you have nished bathing, PLACE •
YOURSELF IN AN UPRIGHT SEATED POSITION
CENTRALLY AND RIGHT TO THE BACK OF
THE SEAT, WITH FEET AND KNEES DRAWN
BACK (g. 7).
NOTE: Partially inating the Bathing Cushion
will allow the backrest to inate and assist you
in sitting upright.
Select ‘Up’ on the hand control when you are•
ready to get out.
You can stop at any time by releasing the ‘up’•
button.
Select ‘Up’ again to continue raising yourself.•
Inate the Bathing Cushion until the relief valve
blows; it will hiss. If necessary, hold onto the
side of the bath or the grab handle to steady
yourself as you go up (See gs. 7 & 8).
Swing your legs over the side of the bath and•
then stand or transfer.
To remove the Bathing Cushion from the bath
After use, drain the bath water and release the•
suction cups from the bottom of the bath. Do
this by lifting the rim of a pair of suction cups
(g. 9) to release the suction between suction
cup and bath.
Tilt the• Bathing Cushion so that the released
suction cups do not re-adhere to the surface (It
helps to place a small towel beneath them to
stop them re-adhering to the bath).
Release the remaining pair of• suction cups by
lifting their rims as before.
Remove the• Bathing Cushion from the bath and
disconnect the air hose.
NOTE: To deate the Bathing Cushion when not
sitting on it, disconnect the air hose. The Airo
compressor will not suck air from the Bathing
Cushion. To speed up deation, apply some weight
to the Bathing Cushion by pressing down on it.

fold the Bathing Cushion as indicated (g. 10) and
pass the ‘handle’ (C) through the slot between the
seat and backrest.
Maintenance
Clean the Bathing Cushion after each use.•
Regularly check that the suction cups are•
secure and undamaged.
Check that the air hose is not damaged.•
We recommend that your Bathing Cushion is
inspected annually by either your supplier or other
suitably qualied person. If required, Mangar
International can provide full maintenance within
an annual service contract. Please contact our
Customer Care department for further details (See
page 7 for further information).
Repairs or servicing must only be carried out by
your supplier or other authorised person.
Cleaning
routine cleaning
Drain the bath water and fully inate the Bathing •
Cushion for cleaning whilst it is still in the bath.
Partially deate the Bathing Cushion in order to
clean between the seat and base sections.
All components can be cleaned with a•
proprietary liquid cleaner or disinfectant.
NOTE: Before using proprietary cleaners,
always test on an inconspicuous area. Rinse
with clean water, and wipe dry or leave to air
dry. Do not dry using hot air.
disinfection
The Bathing Cushion should be fully inated •
and pre-cleaned by washing with detergent
and water and then disinfected using either
buffered hypochlorite (such as ‘Milton’ solution)
or a hard surface, alcohol impregnated wipe.
Partially deate the Bathing Cushion in order to
disinfect between the seat and base sections.
Storage
Ensure that the Bathing Cushion is clean and
thoroughly dry before storing. Store in a dry
environment.
