A strong source of IR noise/interference, such as a Plasma TV, may be the cause.
Try moving Manta TR1 to reduce its exposure to interference. A piece of white paper over
the Manta TR1 lens may work to block the interference. Other sources of IR interference
can include some fluorescent lamps, backlights in some LCD monitors/TVs or direct sunlight.
QThe red LED on Manta TR1 blinks or stays on, even when not using the remote control.
Nothing happens when buttons are pressed on the remote control.

A remote must be provided by the customer.
QThere was no remote control in the package, only Manta TR1.
Troubleshooting

Make sure Manta TR1 is plugged into a USB port on the Mac or Boxee Box, not a keyboard,
display or unpowered hub.
For Mac OS, install one of the supported driver/action programs mentioned in the requirements.
For Boxee Box, make sure to update to the latest software. (Minimum version 1.1)
If using a universal remote, make sure it is set with correct/working button codes.
The remote’s battery may be low, recharge or replace with a new one.
Make sure only one supported driver/action program is installed, as only one can access
Manta TR1 at a time. If using Mira, remove Remote Buddy using its uninstall feature.
Confirm the file “/System/Library/Extensions/RBIOKitHelper.Kext” is also removed.
Universal remotes do not support the pairing feature of the Apple Remote.
The remote’s battery may be low, replace with a new one.
QThe remote control will not “Pair” or actions do not always work.

Mac OS X Specific:
1. Update Boxee Box with the latest software. The minimum version is 1.1
2. Configure your universal remote with a Media Center (“MCE”) device for use
with Boxee:
Harmony: Computer/Media Center PC -> Hewlett Packard -> Media Center
URC: AUX -> Microsoft -> Media Center Vista (AUX 481)

1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the mini USB port on the
back of Manta TR1.
2. Connect the large end of the USB cable to a USB port on your
Mac or Boxee Box *
1. Position Manta TR1 in a location where the front lens will not be
obstructed.
2. Mac Only: Check the settings in your driver/action program
to make sure Manta TR1 is the selected/active receiver.
(In Mira, make sure “Manta TR1” is selected in the “receiver”menu of the Options tab)

Mira version 1.3.5 or later (available from twistedmelon.com)
Remote Buddy version 1.16.5 or later (available from iospirit.de)
The software allows control of Mac OS X and all other applications.
* Manta TR1 must not be connected to an unpowered port or hub, such as a USB
port on a keyboard or some displays. External USB hubs must have their own power supply.
