DUST GUARD UNIT FOR DIAMOND GRINDING HEADS
To reduce the risk of injury, please read through this manual carefully and follow all steps.
1. PREPARATION
•Before you begin, check to determine the hazard classification of the dust produced. Always use a dust extractor vacuum of the
appropriate, officially approved safety class that is in compliance with your local dust hazard control regulations.
•To ensure correct use, always check if the dust guard is properly mounted on the angle grinder. Do NOT use it if the guard has not
been securely fitted on to the machine.
•The dust guard is suitable for most popular 115mm and 125mm angle grinders. Please contact Marcrist technical support team for
guidance if you are not sure on (0) 1302 890 888.
•This guard has been designed for dust removal of grinding, levelling and polishing and it can be used for all building material types.
•Do NOT use it for grinding metal as it could cause a serious injury and/or damage to the extractor unit.
•This guard should only be used with diamond grinding heads. Diamond cutting blades, tungsten carbide blades or abrasive discs
should NOT be used with it. Please note the grinding head is NOT included in this set.
•Do NOT use this product under wet conditions or in presence of flammable liquids or gasses.

Picture 1
Step 1 - removing angle grinder’s guard
Follow the mounting and removing guard instruction within the angle grinder manual to remove the guard from the tool. Please note that
some types of Bosch angle grinders are equipped with an O-ring which needs to be removed.
Step 2 - installing the dust guard
•Choose the right aluminium adjustment ring from the box (4 sizes included with the guard).
•Open the clamp lever and align the guard with the slots on the angle grinder gear case. Rotate the dust guard into the desired working
position –it should be positioned between the spindle and the operator to provide operator protection. The inner flange washer
should be installed behind the wheel allowing proper fit and easy tool removal.
•Close the clamp lever to secure the dust guard on the angle grinder. If needed, tighten the screw at the clamp lever for even closer fit.
•Adjust the height settings with the type of the grinding head you are about to use to ensure brushes are levelled with the surface for
optimal dust collection.
Step 3 - mounting the diamond grinding head
Follow your angle grinder manual for replacing cutting wheel and mount the diamond grinding head. Please remember NOT to use any
cutting diamond wheels or bonded abrasives.
Step 4 - dust extraction vacuum
Ensure the dust extraction vacuum hose is securely connected with the dust guard hose adaptor. The amount of dust retained by the dust
extractor unit depends on its filter system and the suction power. Please refer to the dust extractor vacuum instruction manual for further
information.
3. OPERATION
•Ensure all assembly instructions have been completed and turn the dust extractor vacuum on as instructed in the manual.
•Turn the angle grinder on as per tool instruction manual and allow it to reach full speed before making contact with work surface.
•Position the grinding head parallel to a work surface such as a floor or wall and begin grinding. Make sure you keep the machine flat at
all time for the best dust collection.
•When surface grinding is complete, turn the tool off and disconnect from the power source. Allow the tool to stop completely before
laying it down to avoid injury.
•For your own safety, read the instruction manual for both the grinding tool and the dust extraction vacuum before using any
accessory. Failure to comply with these manuals may result in personal injury and/or serious damage to the tool and the accessory.
