Belt and Harness.

2.1 Intended Use
The AP Battery Belt is designed for
carrying one AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord (Illustration 3) and
one Extra AP Battery Bag
(Illustration 2) right on the operator‘s
waist. Alternatively, it can be used to
carry up to two ExtraAP Battery Bags.
WARNING
￭ Use of a STIHL AP Battery Belt for
any purpose other than supporting an
AP Battery Bag could lead to
personal injury and property damage.
￭ When an AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord is attached to the
AP Battery Belt, the operator can
power any of the following STIHL
power tools:
– STIHL MSA chain saws, except
top-handle units
– STIHL HTA pole pruners
– STIHL FSA trimmers and brush
cutters
– STIHL HSA hedge trimmers
– STIHL HLA extended reach hedge
trimmers
– STIHL BGA blowers
￭ Do not use a STIHL AP Battery Belt or
AP Battery Bag with Connecting Cord
when working with STIHL MSA top-
handle chain saws, STIHL TSA cut-
off machines or STIHL RMA lawn
mowers. Use with these products
could lead to severe personal injury
and property damage from
entanglement of the connecting cord,
loss of control and loss of balance.
￭ To reduce the risk of personal injury
or property damage, including
damage to the AP Battery Bag or
connecting cord:
– Never charge a battery in the
AP Battery Bag.
– Never connect multiple
AP Battery Bags together.
– Never use any AP Battery Bag
to transport any object other
than a STIHL AP battery.
2.2 Operator
WARNING
￭ Operating an outdoor power tool can
be strenuous. The operator must be
in good physical condition and mental
health. To reduce the risk of personal
injury from fatigue and loss of control:
– Check with your doctor before
using the power tool if you have
any health condition that may be
aggravated by strenuous work.
– Do not operate the power tool
while under the influence of any
substance (drug, alcohol or
medication, etc.) that might
impair vision, balance, dexterity
or judgment.
– Be alert. Do not operate the
power tool when you are tired.
Take a break if you become
tired.
– Do not permit minors to use the
AP Battery Belt and Harness.
2.3 Using the AP Battery Belt
and Harness
WARNING
￭ Misuse may result in personal injury
and property damage.
– Use the AP Battery Belt and
Harness only as described in
these instructions.
– Never modify the AP Battery
Belt or Harness in any way.
￭ Using an AP Battery Belt or Harness
that is modified, damaged, improperly
adjusted or improperly maintained
can lead to a malfunction and
increase the risk of serious personal
injury or death.
– Never attempt to modify the
AP Battery Belt and Harness in
any way.
– Make sure the nylon straps and
other components of the
AP Battery Belt and Harness
are in good condition and free of
damage. If any of the straps or
other components are worn,
weakened, cracked or otherwise
damaged, contact your
authorized STIHL servicing
dealer to have them replaced.
Do not use the AP Battery Belt
and Harness until the problem
has been corrected.
– Make sure the AP Battery Bag
with Connecting Cord or
Extra AP Battery Bag are
properly adjusted and secure on
your AP Battery Belt before
starting work.
1 Introduction
It is important that you read
and observe the following
information and warnings.
Improper use can cause
serious injury.
Read these warnings and
instructions thoroughly
before use and periodically
thereafter. Follow all safety
precautions. Careless or
improper use can cause
serious or fatal injury. Also
read and follow all
instructions and warnings
for the following:
– STIHL AP series battery;
– STIHL power tool;
– STIHL AP Battery Bag
with Connecting Cord.

￭ To reduce the risk of injury from
unauthorized use or unintended
activation:
– Never leave the AP Battery Belt
and Harness unattended when
a battery is attached or an
attached AP Battery Bag is
connected to a power tool.
￭ To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury from loss of control during
operation:
– Read and follow all safety
precautions and instructions
related to the power tool
connected to the
AP Battery Bag with Connecting
Cord.
￭ The operator must be able to remove
the AP Battery Belt and Harness
quickly in the event of an emergency.
In an emergency, open and remove
the AP Battery Belt and Harness by
releasing the quick-release buckle.
– Never attach the AP Battery Belt
through the belt loops on your
work pants, as this will make
removing the AP Battery Belt or
AP Battery Bag more difficult in
an emergency situation.
– To help reduce the risk of injury
in the event of an emergency,
practice quickly opening the
quick-release buckle on the
waist belt and lowering the
AP Battery Belt and Harness to
the ground. To avoid damage,
ease the AP Battery Belt and
Harness to the ground when
practicing and do not throw it.
Do not allow the AP batteries to
drop to the ground.
3.1 Attaching the Harness,
AP Battery Bag and
Extra AP Battery Bag
► Attach the Harness to the
AP Battery Belt (Illustration 1).
► Attach the AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord (Illustration 2, 2A).
► Attach one or two Extra AP Battery
Bags (Illustration 2, 2B).
3.2 Putting on the AP Battery Belt
and Harness
To ensure a proper fit:
► Put the AP Battery Belt around your
waist and the Harness over your
shoulders (Illustration 3).
► Fasten and adjust the waist belt (1) so
that it rests comfortably but securely
on your hips (Illustration 4).
► Adjust the harness straps so that the
back padding fits firmly and securely
against your back (Illustration 5).
► Thread the end of the waist belt
through the loop (2) (Illustration 5).
► To remove the AP Battery Belt and
Harness, open the quick-release
buckle on the waist belt and loosen
the harness straps by lifting the
sliding adjusters (Illustration 6).
4.1 Preparing for Transportation
or Storage
To prepare the AP Battery Belt for
transportation or storage:
► Switch off the power tool as described
in its instruction manual.
► If connected to a STIHL power tool,
remove the battery bag‘s connecting
cord from the power tool.
► Remove the battery from each
AP Battery Bag attached to the
AP Battery Belt.
► If any batteries became wet during
operation, allow them to dry
separately and completely before
charging or storing.
5.1 Storing
WARNING
Store the AP Battery Belt and Harness
indoors in a dry, secure place that is
inaccessible to children and other
unauthorized users. Never store the
battery in an AP Battery Bag.
Before storing:
► Clean the AP Battery Belt and the
Harness.
► Store the AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord as described in its
instruction manual.
► If the AP Battery Belt or any
AP Battery Bag became wet, remove
the batteries and allow them to dry
separately and completely before
storing.
6.1 Inspecting and Maintaining
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury
from unintended activation, remove the
batteries from the AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord and the Extra
AP Battery Bag before carrying out any
inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
Carry out only the maintenance
operations described in this manual.
There are no user-authorized repairs.
STIHL recommends that repair work be
performed by authorized STIHL
servicing dealers.
Proper maintenance of the AP Battery
Belt and Harness includes the following
activities:
► Remove dust and dirt with a slightly
dampened cloth or soft, dry brush.
► Do not use solvents or aggressive
detergents to clean the AP Battery
Belt and Harness. They may damage
its components. If the AP Battery Belt
and Harness is very dirty, carefully
clean it by hand using only mild
detergents or detergents for coloured
textiles.
If you make a warranty claim for a
component which has not been serviced
or maintained properly, coverage may
be denied.
7.1 Disposal of the AP Battery
Belt and Harness
STIHL products must not be thrown in
household trash or disposed of except
as outlined in this section.
► Take the AP Battery Belt and
Harness, any accessories and
packaging to an approved disposal
site for environmentally friendly
recycling.
► Contact your authorized
STIHLservicing dealer for the latest
information on disposal and recycling.

2.1 Uso previsto
El cinturón está diseñado para llevar
una bolsa de baterías AP con cordón de
conexión (Ilustración 3) y una bolsa de
baterías AP adicional (Ilustración 2) en
la cintura del operador. Como
alternativa, puede usarse para llevar
hasta dos bolsas de baterías AP
adicionales.
ADVERTENCIA
￭ El uso del cinturón para baterías AP
STIHL para un fin diferente de llevar
una bolsa de batería AP podría
causar lesiones personales y daños a
la propiedad.
￭ Cuando se tiene una bolsa de batería
AP con cordón de conexión fijada al
cinturón, el operador puede

1 Introducción

– Nunca modifique el cinturón y
arnés para batería AP en modo

modificaciones, daños, ajustes
incorrectos o mantenimiento
deficiente puede causar una avería y

– Compruebe que las correas de
nilón y demás componentes del
cinturón y arnés para batería AP

unidad. No utilice el cinturón y

haber resuelto el problema.
– Compruebe que la bolsa de
batería AP con cordón de
conexión o la bolsa de batería

ajustada y asegurada en el
cinturón antes de iniciar los
trabajos.
￭ Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones
causadas por el uso no autorizado o
la activación accidental:
– Nunca deje el cinturón y arnés
para batería AP desatendido si
tiene una batería conectada o si
la bolsa de batería AP está
conectada a una herramienta
motorizada.
￭ Para reducir el riesgo de sufrir
lesiones personales graves por la
pérdida del control durante el uso:
– Lea y aténgase a todas las

conexión.
￭ El operador deberá poder despojarse
del cinturón y arnés para batería AP
rápidamente en caso de emergencia.
En caso de una emergencia, quítese
el cinturón y arnés para batería AP
por medio de desabrocharse las
hebillas de soltado rápido.
– Nunca fije el cinturón para
batería AP a través de las
trabillas de sus pantalones de
trabajo, ya que esto dificulta
despojarse del cinturón o de la
bolsa de batería AP si llega a
surgir una emergencia.
– Para ayudar a reducir el riesgo
de lesionarse en caso de
emergencia, practique la
apertura rápida de las hebillas
del cinturón y de la correa de
pecho y bajar el cinturón y arnés
para batería AP al suelo. Para
evitar los daños, baje el cinturón
y arnés para batería AP
suavemente al suelo al practicar
el movimiento y no los lance. No
permita que las baterías AP
caigan al suelo.
3.1 Colocación del arnés, la
bolsa de batería AP y la bolsa
de batería AP adicional
► Fije el arnés al cinturón para batería
AP (Ilustración 1).
► Fije la bolsa de batería AP con cordón
de conexión (Ilustración 2, 2A).
► Fije una o dos bolsas para batería AP
adicional (Ilustración 2, 2B).
3.2 Colocación del cinturón y
arnés para batería AP
Para asegurar una colocación
adecuada:
► Colóquese el cinturón para batería
AP alrededor de la cintura y el arnés
sobre sus hombros (Ilustración 3).
► Abróchese y ajústese el cinturón (1)
de modo que repose de modo
cómodo y seguro sobre sus caderas
(Ilustración 4).
► Ajuste las correas del arnés de modo
que la almohadilla quede de modo
firme y seguro contra sus espaldas
(Ilustración 5).
► Pase el extremo del cinturón por la
argolla (2) (Ilustración 5).
► Para quitarse el cinturón y arnés de la
batería AP, abra la hebilla de soltado
rápido del cinturón y suelte las
correas del arnés por medio de
levantar los ajustadores deslizantes
(Ilustración 6).
4.1 Preparación para el
transporte o el
almacenamiento
Para preparar el cinturón para batería
AP para el transporte o
almacenamiento:
► Apague la herramienta motorizada de
la manera descrita en el manual de
instrucciones.
► Si el cordón de conexión de la bolsa
para batería está conectada a una
herramienta motorizada STIHL,
desconéctelo.
► Saque la batería de cada una de las
bolsas para batería AP fijada al
cinturón.
► Si alguna de las baterías se ha
mojado durante el uso, permita que
se seque por separado y de manera
completa antes de cargar o
almacenar la unidad.
5.1 Almacenamiento
ADVERTENCIA
Guarde el cinturón para batería AP y el
arnés bajo techo, en un lugar seco, bajo
llave, fuera del alcance de los niños y
de otras personas no autorizadas.
Nunca almacene una batería dentro de
la bolsa de baterías AP.
Antes del almacenamiento:
► Limpie el cinturón y arnés para
batería AP.
► Almacene la bolsa de batería AP con
cordón de conexión de la manera
descrita en el manual de
instrucciones.
► Si el cinturón o la bolsa de batería AP
se ha mojado, saque las baterías y
permita que se sequen por separado
y por completo antes de
almacenarlas.
6.1 Inspección y mantenimiento
ADVERTENCIA
Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones
personales causadas por la activación
accidental de la unidad, saque las
baterías de la bolsa de batería AP con
cordón de conexión y de la bolsa de
baterías AP adicional antes de efectuar
una inspección, limpieza o
mantenimiento. Efectúe únicamente las
operaciones de mantenimiento que se
describen en este manual. No hay
reparaciones autorizadas para los
usuarios. STIHL recomienda que los
concesionarios de servicio STIHL
autorizados efectúen los trabajos de
reparación.
El mantenimiento adecuado del
cinturón de batería AP y arnés incluye
las actividades siguientes:
► Quite el polvo y la suciedad con un
paño húmedo o un cepillo suave y
seco.
► No utilice disolventes ni detergentes
agresivos para limpiar el cinturón y
arnés para batería AP. Éstos podrían
dañar sus componentes. Si el
cinturón y arnés para batería AP está
muy sucio, limpiarlo cuidadosamente
a mano con detergentes suaves o
aptos para telas de color.
Si usted está reclamando cobertura de
garantía para algún componente que no
ha sido reparado o mantenido
debidamente, es posible que se
deniegue la garantía.
7.1 Desecho del cinturón y arnés
para batería AP
Los productos STIHL no deben
desecharse con los desperdicios
domésticos ni de manera alguna salvo
la descrita en esta sección.
► Tome el cinturón y arnés para batería
AP, sus accesorios y su embalaje a
un sitio aprobado para desecharla y
que efectúe un reciclaje no dañino al
medio ambiente.
