CHANGES
Problem: Field reports indicate that the animation wheel can warp under special usage patterns. The warping
can potentially cause an animation error that will turn the light off as a safety precaution.
There is no risk of personal injury.
Typical fault signs: The animation wheel moves in and out of focus when it is rotated. An animation and gobo error may
appear.
Solution: Replace the animation wheel with the new type. Follow the instructions in “Procedure on replacing the
animation wheel” on page 4 on how to remove the multimodule and replace the animation wheel.
Terms: This document only applies to the MAC Encore Performance xtures that were delivered with the rst
type of animation wheel that does not have the positioning notch.

• During the repair, take precautions to prevent
damage due to static electricity.
• Read the instructions in this document.
• Before you start the repair, make sure that you
have all the necessary tools and materials ready.
• All repairs and electrical isolation tests must be
performed in accordance with local regulations.

Removing the multimodule
1. Remove the head covers.
2. Remove the front side covers.
3. Place the xture with the front lens pointing
downwards the base.
4. Lock the tilt function (1) in this position.
NOTE! The focus lens will slide out of the
multimodule and down towards the front lens
which make it possible to remove the multimodule.

1. Loosen the four screws (2) that hold the
multimodule.
2. Disconnect the CAN BUS and the DC power to
the distribution board (3).

1. Replace the multimodule (4).
2. Follow the procedure in reverse order. 4

Replacing the animation wheel
1. Remove the head covers.
2. Remove the front side covers.
3. Remove the multimodule. See “Removing the
multimodule” on page 5.
4. Loosen the ve Torx20 screws (1).
5. Place the framing module (2) next to the gobo and
effect module (3).
6. Gently loosen the magnetic holder (4) with a small
atheaded screwdriver.
7. Replace the animation wheel (5).
NOTE! Make sure that the indexing marks (6) are
aligned.
8. Follow the procedure reverse order.
