CABINET CLEANING PROCEDURES
WARNING!
To avoid electrical shock, disconnect main power supplies to the merchandiser
before beginning this procedure. May have more than one disconnect switch.
The exteri r f the ice merchandiser sh uld simply be wiped clean with a damp cl th daily. This will be sufficient t
keep the unit l king its finest. Do not use a brush, scouring pad, or any abrasive material on the painted
surfaces!
T clean the interi r f the ice merchandiser, the c ndensing unit and p wer t the merchandiser fans and heaters
sh uld be shut ff. Disconnect all power before cleaning! All pr duct in the cabinet sh uld be rem ved and st red
in an appr priate facility. All shelving, trays, etc. sh uld be rem ved and cleaned separately.
The interi r (as well as the exteri r) f the ice merchandiser may be cleaned with a germicidal detergent at the
manufacturer’s rec mmended c ncentrati n. Do not use any ammonia-based products as this may damage the
electrical components in the unit. Again, d n t use a brush, sc uring pad, r any abrasive material n the painted
surfaces. Use a s ft brush r cleaner pad f r built-up dirt, stains, r spills. Rem ve nly the necessary mechanical
parts t access the evap rat r c il and fan h using. Care sh uld be taken n t t unnecessarily s ak fan m t rs,
electrical c nnecti ns, c ntr ls, r any wire raceway. Wipe all surfaces with a damp cl th. A sanitizer sh uld then be
th r ughly sprayed nt the surfaces and again wiped with a damp cl th.
Rem ve nly the necessary mechanical parts t access the c ndenser c il and c mpress r h using. Care sh uld
again be taken n t t unnessarily s ak fan m t rs, electrical c nnecti ns, time cl ck, ballasts, r any wire raceway.
Check the c ndenser c il t insure that it is n t cl gged with dirt, dust, r lint. A dirty r cl gged c ndenser c il will
result in diminished perf rmance f the cabinet. The c ndenser sh uld be brushed with a plastic bristled brush. F r
dust r dirt that has accumulated deep inside the c ndenser, use c mpressed air t bl w the dirt thr ugh the c il. D
n t let dust r dirt accumulate n the fan blades. If dust r dirt is n ticeable, simply wipe the fan blades with a damp
cl th as with ther surfaces. After cleaning, replace any equipment that was previ usly rem ved and start the
c ndensing unit and return p wer t the lights, fans, and heaters.

As a regular maintenance r utine, the c ndenser c il sh uld be cleaned appr x every 6 t 12 m nths,
depending n st re c nditi ns.
Keep the equipment clean and sanitary s it will meet y ur l cal sanitati n c des. Wipe up all spills, clean with water
and a mild detergent, then rinse with clean water. Wipe the exteri r and gasket area as needed.
ICE MERCHANDISER MONTHLY CHECKLIST
1. Check c ndenser c il, clean if necessary.
2. Check service valves f r leaks evident by il traces.
3. Check f r bstructi n restricting air fl w ver the evap rat r c il and the c ndenser c il.
Insure that the air intake is n t bstructed.

5. Check f r pr per temperature, adjust if necessary.
6. Check d r gaskets f r pr per seal against cabinet.
