your wise choice. This product is designed to give you the highest performance, combined with real ease of use.
We hope you will make optimum use of this intelligent, intuitive, feature-packed Fixed Cellular Terminal and Router
with Data Port. Please read this document carefully before installing your SIMADO GFXD1111S.
About this System Manual
SIMADO GFXD1111S System Manual contains detailed information and instructions for installing, configuring and
using GFXD1111S. This System Manual also contains information on protecting and maintaining the system and
steps to be followed to default the system in case you are unable to configure it properly. We have made the best
efforts to let you know your SIMADO GFXD1111S so that it becomes a fun for you to use it.
Intended Audience
This System Manual is aimed at:
•Network and System Engineer (SE): A person who install, configure and maintains SIMADO
GFXD1111S. It is assumed that they have some experience in installing and programming the similar
products. System Engineer has full access to the system.
•System Administrator (SA): System Administrator is a person who operates GFXD1111S and performs
administrative functions. System Administrator has only limited access to the system.
•User: A person who actually uses SIMADO GFXD1111S.
It is assumed that the Users have some previous experience in operating the similar products. Users are
not expected to configure the system or program its features. However, it is anticipated that some of them
may have to or want to configure the system and program its features. Therefore, this document provides
instructions on installation and configuration in as lucid a manner as possible.

Terminology used in this System Manual
In this system manual word, 'SIMADO GFXD1111S', 'GFXD1111S' and 'System' are used synonymously.
'System Engineer (SE)' and 'you' are used interchangeably and refer to the person who install and configures
SIMADO GFXD1111S. Also 'Caller', 'Calling Party' and 'User' are used interchangeably and 'Callee' and 'Called
party' are same.
Either GSM or CDMA module can be installed in the Mobile Port of SIMADO GFXD1111S as per the requirement of
the user. Therefore, the Mobile Port can be either GSM or CDMA. In GSM Port, SIM Card is installed and in CDMA
port, RUIM Card is installed.
Consider SIM as RUIM if CDMA module is installed in GFXD1111S. Also note that following features will not be
supported by GFXD1111S, if CDMA module is installed in the Mobile Port of the system.

• Location Information Indication
• Call Divert
SIMADO GFXD1111S supports 3G module for voice. When 3G module is installed in the system, it will have
following effect:
1. Frequency Band Selection not required.
2. Current calls will be disconnected if Call Waiting Service is not disabled in the SIM Card. Disable Call
Waiting in SIM Card before inserting it in SIMADO GFXD1111S.
Some of the terms used in this System Manual are defined below:
System Engineers (SE): A person who install, configure and maintains SIMADO GFXD1111S.
System Administrator (SA): System Administrator is a person who operates the system and performs
administrative functions. System Administrator is authorized to perform only limited functions such as change
SA password, display software version-revision, display call duration etc…For example, receptionist or an
operator in an organization is called System Administrator.
Service Provider: Services Provider is an entity that provides telecom services to other entities. For example,
Reliance, Vodafone etc. are a few service providers that provide telecommunication services to its
subscribers.
User: A person who uses SIMADO GFXD1111S.
Caller/Calling party: A person who makes calls.
Callee/Called party: A person to who receives the call.
Using this System Manual, you will be able to install, operate and make optimum use of SIMADO GFXD1111S. In

CHAPTER 2
Knowing SIMADO
GFXD1111S
Overview of SIMADO GFXD1111S
SIMADO GFXD1111S is a compact device that interfaces GSM network to the PSTN network. SIMADO
GFXD1111S supports quad-band operation allowing it to work with any GSM network. SIMADO GFXD1111S is the
most versatile product, providing Data, Fax, SMS and GPRS service through its mobile port. It finds its application
in corporate business establishments, STD/PCO booth, SOHO etc.
In an Organization all the incoming calls on the Mobile Port can be routed to the FXS Port or the FXO Port to reach
the operator or the desired extension of the PBX. Similarly, all the outgoing calls made from FXS Port can be routed
either through the Mobile Port or FXO Port depending on the Least Cost Routing logic, reducing the
telecommunication cost of the organization.
Matrix offers FCT-Router in two different models: SIMADO GFXD1111 and SIMADO GFXD1111S. The
only difference between the two is that GFXD1111 comes with inbuilt power supply with Battery Back-
up and it operates on AC Mains whereas GFXD1111S comes with external adaptor and it operates on
DC voltage.
This system manual is common for both above mentioned FCT-Router models.
SIMADO GFXD1111 has 1 FXS Port, 1 FXO
Port, a Communication Port, a SIM Card Slot,
an Antenna Connecter, AC Mains Socket and
5 LEDs.

Port, a Communication Port, a SIM Card Slot,
an Antenna Connecter, a Power Socket and

FXS Port
FXS port labeled as FXS is used to connect telephone instrument with CLI display to SIMADO GFXD1111S. It is
also used to connect GFXD1111S to the FXO Port of the PBX.
FXO Port
FXO Port labeled as FXO is used to connect SIMADO GFXD1111S to the PSTN network or to the FXS Port of the
PBX.
Communication Port
Communication Port labeled as 'COM 10101' is used to connect SIMADO GFXD1111S to a computer.
SIM Card Slot
SIM Card slot labeled as SIM Card is used to insert a SIM Card/ RUIM Card of a Service Provider.
AC Mains Socket
AC Mains Socket is used to power SIMADO GFXD1111 using Direct AC Mains input 90-265VAC, 47-63 Hz, 5W.
Power Socket
A Power socket labeled as 12V DC is used to power SIMADO GFXD1111S using 1.25A power adaptor.
Antenna Connecter
A socket labeled as 'ANTENNA' is used to connect Antenna to SIMADO GFXD1111S for mobile network.
LEDs
5 LEDs labeled as FXS, FXO, NW, RDY and PWR are as shown in the figure below. These LEDs indicate the
status of the ports, various events occurring on the ports and also the error conditions.

Programming SIMADO GFXD1111S
SIMADO GFXD1111S can be configured either in Mobile-FXS Mode or Mobile-FXO Mode.
In Mobile-FXS Mode, all three ports viz. Mobile, FXO and FXS are functional. By default, system is configured in
this mode of operation.
SE should configure GFXD1111S in one of the following three modes of operation as per the requirement of the
user:
1. Speech + SMS (Default Configuration)
2. SMS + Internet + Fax + Data
3. Report Generation
(Refer “Mode of Operation” for more details)
In Mobile-FXO Mode, only two ports viz. FXO and Mobile are functional. In this type of configuration, FXS port is
used only for programming the system. This type of configuration is useful when a mobile user wants to access the
station/trunk line of the PBX via GSM/CDMA network. (Refer “Mobile-FXO Mode” for more details)
Programming of SIMADO GFXD1111S can be done using following four methods:
1. Programming through COM Port (Refer “Programming the System through COM Port”)
2. Programming through FXS Port (Refer “Programming the System through FXS Port”)
3. Programming through Mobile Port (Refer “Programming the System through Mobile Port”)
4. Programming using SMS (Refer “Programming the System using SMS”)

Getting Started
Protecting SIMADO GFXD1111S
You should take following measures to protect your SIMADO GFXD1111S.
Installation Precautions:
• Do not turn on the power supply until the installation is complete.
• Do not install the system in direct sunlight and the place where there is excessive cold or humid
atmosphere.
• Do not install the system where sulfuric gases are produced and in areas where there are thermal springs
because it may damage the equipment.
• Do not install the system at the places where shocks or vibrations are frequent or strong.
• Do not install the system at dusty places or places where it may come in direct contact with oil or water.
• The system should be installed at the place where enough open space is there for ventilation.
Safety Instructions:
You should always take basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to the system as
well as the person using it. Follow the steps given below:
• Read and understand all the instructions given in the manual.
• Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning and do not use liquid cleaners. Use only dry and
soft cloth.
• Do not use the product near water.
• Do not open the system in power ON condition.
• Do not place the product at the place from where it can fall and serious damage may be caused to the
product.
• Interfacing cables should not touch the exposed power line cable.
• The product should be operated with proper power voltage supply.
• Do not place the product where power cord can be misused.
• Reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the system by taking the product to a qualified serviceman
for repair work or servicing. Removing covers or opening the system or incorrect reassembly may cause
electric shock when used subsequently.

Caution/Warning:
Unplug the system from the wall outlet and contact the qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
• When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
• If liquid has been spilled into the product.
• If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
• If product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
• If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls
which are covered by the operating instructions because improper adjustment of other controls may result
in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to normal
operation.
• If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
• If the product exhibits a distinct change in the performance.
Protecting the system from Lightning:
• Protecting the system from high current surges is achieved by installing primary protection device. A
lightning protector is a primary protection device which is used to prevent a dangerous surge form entering
the building and damaging a system. For equipment installed in a more exposed environment, it is
necessary to protect the system with primary protectors such as PPMs. With the development of electronic
equipment, problem due to lightning surges have increased. A dangerous surge can occur if a telephone
line comes in contact with a power line. A lightning protector should be installed on an outside (CO) line to
prevent a dangerous surge from entering the building and damaging the system.
• The best place for the insertion of the primary protection is the cable entry point of the building, shelter or
equipment housing.
• This is not always possible but every attempt should be made to place the primary protection as close as
possible to the entry point of the cables into the building, shelter or equipment housing.
• Hence, the system should be installed with lightning protectors. In addition, grounding (connection to earth
ground) is very important to the system.
Warning for RF Safety:
This product complies with the RF exposure guidelines as per standard FCC 47 CFR part 2. However, following
recommendations are solicited:
• Ensure that the RF Antenna is installed atleast 20 cms away from other electronic and radio transmission
devices.
• Also ensure that the RF antenna is installed at a place atleast 20 cms away from people's vicinity.
• Do not place the magnetic storage media near the device.
• People carrying medical implants like cardiac pacemakers are advised to maintain appropriate distance
from the system. They are also advised to avoid being in the vicinity of the product for a long time.

Verifying Package Contents
Before installing SIMADO GFXD1111S, verify the package contents.

Make sure that all the above mentioned components are present when you open the Sales Kit of SIMADO
GFXD1111S. In case any of the part is missing or damaged, contact the vendor from whom you have purchased the
system.
Mounting on Wall
• Select a suitable place on the wall for mounting the SIMADO GFXD1111S.
• Put the mounting template on the wall and mark the nail hole on the wall.
• Drill a hole of appropriate size.
• Insert the nail grip in the hole.
• Insert the screw and tighten it leaving the screw head a few millimeters protruded of the wall.
• Check the strength of the nail.
• Hang SIMADO GFXD1111S on the wall.

Connecting SIMADO GFXD1111S
SIMADO GFXD1111S can be used as stand-alone system as well as it can also be interfaced with the PBX. It
should be installed at the airy, dust free and moisture free place.
Follow the steps given below to connect GFXD1111:
• Place SIMADO GFXD1111 at a place where it can get AC power supply and network signals.
• Connect Antenna provided with the system to the TNC connector, labeled as 'ANT' of GFXD1111.
• Connect telephone instrument with CLI display to the FXS port of GFXD1111 with the help of RJ11 cable.
You can also connect FXS port of GFXD1111 to the FXO port of the PBX.
• Connect PSTN (CO) line to the FXO port of GFXD1111 with the help of RJ11 cable. You can also connect
FXO port of GFXD1111 to the FXS port of the PBX.
• Connect a computer to the COM port of GFXD1111 with the help of COM port cable.
• Insert SIM card/RUIM card of the service provider in the SIM Card Slot of GFXD1111.
• Connect AC Mains input of GFXD1111 to the AC Mains Socket and power On the system.
Follow the steps given below to connect GFXD1111S:
• Place SIMADO GFXD1111S at a place near wall Socket and where it can get proper network signals.
• Connect Antenna provided with the system to the TNC connector, labeled as 'ANT' of GFXD1111S.
• Connect telephone instrument with CLI display to the FXS port of GFXD1111S with the help of RJ11 cable.
You can also connect FXS port of GFXD1111S to the FXO port of the PBX.
• Connect PSTN (CO) line to the FXO port of GFXD1111S with the help of RJ11 cable. You can also connect
FXO port of GFXD1111S to the FXS port of the PBX.
• Connect a computer to the COM port of GFXD1111S with the help of Ethernet cable.
• Insert SIM card/RUIM card of the service provider in the SIM Card Slot of GFXD1111S.
• Connect Power Socket of GFXD1111S to the DC Jack using 12V DC Power Adaptor provided to you and
switch ON the power supply.
To protect the SIM card inserted in the system from being mis-used, SE is recommended to change the SIM PIN.
Please ensure that SIM PIN of the SIM Card and that of the system is same. By default, SIM PIN of the system is
1234. To change the SIM PIN, follow the steps given below:
• Switch Off GFXD1111S.
• Remove SIM Card and insert the same in the mobile instrument.
• Enable 'SIM PIN at Power ON' parameter in the SIM Card.
• Change the SIM PIN of the SIM Card to 1234. (default)
• Insert SIM Card in GFXD1111S and switch on the system. Change the SIM PIN after GFXD1111S attains
normal working position.
