2.1. General safety
SunPower Drive equipment is intended exclusively for charging Electric Vehicles (EV). To ensure
proper usage of the charging station (hereinafter can be referred to as Electric Vehicle Supply
Equipment / EVSE or the Charger), the instructions in this manual must always be complied
with. Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance and Replacement of this equipment shall only
be performed by a qualied electrician.
This device must not be repaired.
All applicable local, regional and national regulations must be complied with during the
installation, use, maintenance and replacement of this device.
SunPower cannot be held responsible in the event of non-compliance with the instructions in
this document and in the documents to which it refers.
The service instruction must be observed throughout the lifetime of this device.
Operation of this product is prohibited in the following situations:
• In the vicinity of explosives or highly ammable substances
• If the product is in close proximity to water sources
• If the product as a whole or individual components of the product are visibly damaged
• Risks on operation by children or individuals not properly assessed associated with using
this product

4.2. Storage of charging cable and connector
When the charging station is not used, the charging cable should be rolled up and put back into
the cable winding through in position [A], and the charging connector should be inserted into
the designated position [F] for safe storage.

5.1.2. Supply
1. The 7.4 kW AC charging station needs AC single-phase power supply, and its input electrical
requirements are shown as follows:
a. AC working voltage: 230 Vac ±10%
b. AC working frequency: 50 Hz / 60 Hz
2. The 22 kW AC charging station needs AC three-phase power supply, and its input electrical
requirements are shown as follows:
a. AC working voltage: 400 Vac ±10%
b. AC working frequency: 50 Hz / 60 Hz
3. It is recommended to install a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in the upstream of the char-
ging station and Type A RCD is suggested. Please make sure to meet local requirements
and safety regulations. The recommended specications of the MCB are as follows:

Note: The power supply needs to be turned off during wiring / installation
1. Wiring

Because the wiring position of this product is on the back, the wiring must be comple-
ted before xing the charging station on the wall. First install the sealing strip, as shown
in Figure 3.

Take out the cable inlet rubber plug from the spare parts package, the sealing points of
network cable shall be cut before use if network cable need to be connected, as shown
in Figure 4.

3Route the power cable through the sealing rubber plug. If network cable needs to be
connected, please route them through it, as shown in Figure 5

Control the cable inlet length and stripping length according to the requirements in
Figure 6. The power cable is a exible cable, which needs to be crimped with a ring
terminal. CAT5 or CAT6 cable can be used as network cable, and the network cable is
crimped with the network cable connector.

5The power cable needs to be crimped with the ring terminal. The crimping process is
shown in Figure 7.

Install the cable inlet rubber plug and complete wiring operation, as shown in Figure
8. Complete power cable wiring, then connect the network cable if necessary. External
grounding is not required.

If the solid cable is used as power cable, remove the original screws on the terminal
block and install the screw-clamp to connect the power cable, shown as Figure 9. Solid
cable doesn’t require crimping ring terminals

1. Conrm the installation position. A distance of 1-1.3m between the top of charging stati-
on and the ground is recommended. Conrm the levelness of template with a level. Then
mark the drill holes with a pencil, as shown in Figure 13. A maintenance distance or at least
200mm is recommended on each side of the charger, as shown in Figure 13

2. Drill holes at the marked position with a Ø8 drill. The effective length of drill is not less than
80mm, and the drilling depth is 60mm, as shown in Figure 14.
3. Insert Ф8*60 plastic expansion tubes into the four mounting holes and x the mounting
bracket to the two mounting holes below and two M6*50 self-tapping screws, as shown in
Figure 15; conrm the levelness with a spirit level ruler after xing the mounting bracket.

4. Install M6*50 self-tapping screws in the two holes on the top. The protruding length of
screw from the wall is 7mm. Then hang the charging station on the two self-tapping screws
through the two concave buckles on the back, as shown in Figure 16.
5. Fix the bottom of charging station on the mounting bracket by using two M6*12 screws, as
shown in Figure 17, Then check the levelness of charging station with a level.

5.4. Post-installation inspection
5.4.1. Inspection
1. Check that the base is secure and sealed.
2. Check that the internal components of the equipment are securely fastened.
3. Check that the electrical connections and wiring are correct and complete, that the connec-
tions are secure, and that the grounding is reliable.
4. Check that the degree of protection of the equipment meets the requirements, especially at
the cable entry at the bottom of the charger.
5. View appearance, marking, integrity, cleanliness.
