①IN (input jack)
Input jack to connect to the output of
guitar,other effects or related equipment.
The product automatically turns on when
a plug is inserted into this jack. When not
in use, disconnect plug from input jack to
preserve battery life.
②OUT (output jack)
Output jack to connect to input of
amplifier or other effects. The DRY OUT
outputs a dry signal only. The OUT,
when used by itself, outputs a mixture of
dry and effect signals and, when used
with the DRY OUT connected as well, it
outputs a delayed signal only.
③DELAY TIME
Controls deley time from 16mSec. to
300mSec. Turn it clockwise for longer
delay time.
●AD9 provides a variety of analog deley effects from warm reverbs to organic
echoes with low noise and wide-range tone. Dual outputs-effect out and dry
out-allow you to play with two amps for stereo effects.
●Easy-access, no tools battery compartment.
●AC jack to connect optional AC adaptor for long hours of continuous use.

5
ENGLISH
●True Bypass Switching lets your instrument's signal pass through a non-
electronic bypass line when the effect is disengaged, feeding your amp with
direct, unaltered signal from your instrument.
Low noise mechanical switch is used for effect/normal switching.
●LED to indicate normal/effect and battery condition for trouble-free
performance.
④REPEAT
Controls the number of repeats from
only one at the minimum setting to
infinite repeats in the fully clockwise
position. (The fully clockwise position
at a short delay time setting causes a
self-oscillation, which you can cut off
by simply turn down this volume.)
⑤DELAY LEVEL
Controls the level of delay signal. The
delay level is reduced to zero in the
fully counterclockwise position and is
turned up to match the volume of the
dry signal in the fully clockwise
position.
⑥FOOTSWITCH
Switch for effect on/off. Stepping on
this switch alternately turns effects on
and off.
*Effect turns on when you depress
the switch and effect turns off when
you depress and release the switch.
⑦LED INDICATOR
This indicates the normal/effect
status and battery condition. It
lights when plug is inserted to input
jack and effect is on. No LED light
indicates the battery is low or not
installed. In this case replace the
battery.
⑧DC IN (power input jack)
A jack for connection of external
power supply to effect. Be sure to
use the correct Maxon AC adaptor.
Turn down amplifier's volume to
the minimum before connecting
AC adaptor to the product in order
not to damage other connected
equipment.

SAMPLE SETTING

No.1 Ambience delay 1
(for humbucker, front pickup)
A subtle short delay to simulate the
atmosphere of a live performance.
Usable to add just a bit different
nuance at recordings.
No.2 Ambience delay 2
(for humbucker, front & rear pickups)
Ambience sound with deley flavor.
Suitable to create a live sound by
means of analog delay instead of less
characteristic reverb effect. The
REPEAT knob controls the delay’s
character.
No.3 For solos
(for single coil, center pickup)
Adjust DELAY TIME to match the tempo
of your song and enjoy the spacious
sound with analog delay’s less rigid time
setting and warmer tone than those of
digital delays.
No.4 Short delay
(for single coil, rear pickup)
Good for muted guitar notes and others.
You can make your notes spacious and
deep by setting DELAY LEVEL to a bit
generous amount and adjusting DELAY
TIME to have the delayed notes match
the backbeat of your notes.

②OUT (output jack)
Output jacks to connect to input of
amplifier or other effects. Use either
OUT or INV. OUT for monaural mode,
and dry signal and delayed signal come
out mixed. (INV. OUT inverts the phase
of delayed signal and makes the
resulting tone slightly different from the
tone from OUT. Use the one you prefer.)
Use both OUT and INV. OUT for stereo
mode.

Controls modulation rate. Rotate this
volume clockwise for more modulation

for flanger-like chorus with short
delay time. Rotate it clockwise for
longer delay time.
⑥BLEND
Controls the volume level of
modulated tone which is mixed with
original dry tone, allowing you to
adjust between subtle chorus and
rich chorus. Typically dry tone and
modulated tone should be adjusted
to equal levels by rotating this
volume fully clockwise.

SAMPLE SETTING

No.1 Vintage vibe (for humbucker, front
& rear pickups)
Creates a unique swell of sound
reminiscent of the vibrato effects in the
60s. Increase DELAY TIME and you’ll
get deeper chours.
No.2 For leads (for humbusker, rear
pickup)
Similar to the doubling effect, with
DELAY TIME set to full, this setting
adds thick and brilliant colors to your
overdriven lead tone.
No.4 Tremolo chorus (for single coil,
center pickups)
A tremolo-like chorus with high SPEED
setting. The DELAY TIME controls the
extent of a spacious feeling and BLEND
adjusts the depth of the tremolo. Good
to accentuate specific notes in a song.
No.3 Slow & deep (for single coil, front &
center pickups)
A modulation sound created by deep
chorus effect. Good for clean tone,
arpeggio and bass. Control the intensity
of the swell with SPEED and BLEND.

No.1 Smooth flanging
(for humbucker, front & rear pickups)
Smooth flanging mixed with deep
chorus-like effect. With swells peculiar
to flanger, it still produces natural
modulation. Usable to add a bit
different flavor to your tone.
No.2 Jet flanging
(for single coil, rear pickup)
A deep flanging effect similar to the
roar of a jet plane. With DS-830, OD-9
or other overdrives in front of it, FL-9
gives you its characteristic jet flanging.
No.4 Classic flanging
(for single coil, center pickup)
A standard flanging tone making the
most of the flanger’s modulation. You
can make it more exciting by adjusting
SPEED to match the tempo of the song.
No.3 Wah-like tone
(for humbucker, rear pickup)
A generous amount of REGEN. is used
to simulate the out-of-phase tone.
