The Unpacking
Before you unfold the boat, take a good look at how the boat is folded together in the
carton. This will assist you in stowing the boat into the carry bag after each use.
Unfold the boat on a flat surface and check the components listed to ensure none are
missing. If any components are missing, do not contact your Maxxon retailer, but
contact us at: (253)373-0166 or email us: sales@evergoing.us
Valve Operation & Inflation
Each boat comes with pre-installed Leafield valves. Upon loosening the cover cap you
will find a small center pin beneath. Depress and turn clockwise until the pin rises and
seats into place. Leave the valve in this position during use. Screw in pump to valve,
with clockwise turns to lock pump in place. Proceed to pump up the boat until wrinkles
disappear. To disconnect the pump turn the pump hose counter clockwise. To deflate
the boat, depress the centerpin and turn it counter clockwise to allow the air to
escape.
Losing Air Pressure
The XPW is designed so that does not lose more than 20% of the air in the first 24 hour
period, which is normal for an inflatable craft. Should this occur, do the following.
Check that all valves screwed tightly closed.
Check that all valves are clean and without obstruction.
Examine the entire craft for damage, punctures, etc.
Check all seams for leakage by applying soapy water to discover any small
leaks. Where bubbles surface, there is a leak.
Note: Understand that lower external air temperatures will cause the boat to deflate to
a certain degree. Conversely, air pressure can also increase with raising temperatures
or also changes in elevation. When traveling with inflatable boats it’s smart to always
leave room for these reasons.
Repairing a Leak
In the unfortunate event of a leak, deflate the boat and then thoroughly clean the
fabric around the leak and allow it to dry. Once dry, use a solvent primer specifically
designated for PVC to give a final cleaning to the punctured area.
With soapy water, locate the point where the air is escaping. Punctures less than 1/16"
in size can be repaired simply without a patch. Apply a small drop of glue to cover the
puncture and let dry for 10 minutes. Then apply another larger drip and then let this
coat dry for over 24 hours. No patch needed.
For holes or puncture between 1/8” and 4”, cut a piece of repair material large enough
to overlap the damaged area by approximately 2 inches and round off the edges.
Using a fine brush, apply glue to the under side of the patch and around the area to be
repaired. Only apply a thin layer of glue, as too much glue will interfere with a proper

repair. Wait 10 minutes for glue to set. Then apply a second thin layer of glue to both
the patch and the boat as well. Wait another 8 minutes for glue to set. Then apply a 3rd
very thin layer of glue to both the patch and the boat. Let sit for 5 minutes (don’t allow
it to completely dry) and then firmly place patch on the damaged area. Apply patch
so that all air bubbles will be forced out of the patch. Wait 10 minutes, and then inflate
the chamber very slightly, just so the patched portion of the boat is lifted away from
any other side of the boat, assuring both do not get glued together. Use a weight to
apply 3‐5 lbs of pressure for 24 hours. After the patch has dried, apply glue around the
edges for a complete seal (then let dry an additional 12 hours).
Stowing the XPW Watercraft
When not using the watercraft for an extended period, always stow it dry and in an
area away from rodents. (Yes - mice like to chew on PVC.) First, thoroughly clean the
watercraft with fresh water to remove debris and let it dry and then empty the air
chambers. Remove all attachments. Now fold the tubes to the inner side of the boat
until the boat is the same width as the carry bag. Put the boat with all the parts
together in the carrying bag.
Fire Risk
All materials of this inflatable boat are flammable. Keep the boat away from open
flame and extreme heat.
Boating Tips
Always have U.S. Coast Guard approved life saving devices when using your
watercraft. Check local and state regulations for required safety gear.
Check that the boat is fully inflated prior to getting on the water.
Pay close attention to the weather conditions and if using an electric motor with
the XPW-240 (do not use a gas or fuel powered motor), check your battery
strength and anticipate consumption for the existing weather conditions.
If boating out of sight, do not forget important papers like maps or appropriate
licenses, as well as advising another person as to where you will be boating.
Always carry spare parts, repair kit, a first aid kit and the pump with you.
Make sure you do not exceed the maximum recommended number of persons,
load capacity, engine power and your experience navigating varying levels of
water conditions.

Assembling the XPW-239 & XPW-240
Inflate the boat by airing up the
two Leafield valves on the XPW-
239. (One on the XPW-240)
Remove the valve cover cap.
Depress the spring-loaded
centerpin in the center of the
valve and give it ¼ clockwise turn
until it rises. Attach pump and
inflate. Leave the centerpin in
this position during use. Inflate to
approximately 6.5 psi/0.45 bar, or
simply - until nearly all of the
wrinkles are out of the boat.
To deflate, press the centerpin
and turn counter-clockwise ¼
turn until it seats deeper into the
heart of the valve.
Attaching the Oars
Slide the oar receiver
opening onto the
oarlock pin. Then
screw on the
Oarlock locking cap.

Secure oars when
not in use with
Velcro strap or
remove the oars
completely.

edge of the seat deck rests
beaneath the bend of your
knee.
Attach the top seat strap to
a position on the grommet
system in front of the seat.
Adjust strap to bring seat
back to a vertical position for
optimum back support.

to a position behind the seat
on the grommet system.
Adjust strap to remove slack.

HIN (Hull Identification Number: _________________________________

1. The warranty for each new inflatable boat and accessories attached to the boat (herein after to be referred to as the
“product”) to be free from defects in material and workmanship, but only when sale to the consumer is made in a country to
which distribution is authorized by us. This warranty is established for recreational use only and void if boat is used for
commercial applications.
2. The warranty shall become effective and verified by the end-user sales receipt completed on the date of purchase by an
Authorized Cardinal retailer. This receipt must identify Maxxon model number, date of purchase and the product registered
serial number. This warranty is non-transferrable and shall remain in effect as described below.
1.1 P.V.C. hull fabric is covered by a full 5-year warranty against cracking porosity and rot.
Note: It is understood by the end-user that reasonable longevity of PVC boat construction requires that the inflated boat be
covered or when not inflated, stored in the provided storage bag when not in use. Excessive exposure to the sun will void this
warranty.
1.2 Hull seams are covered against delamination by a 1-year warranty
Note: Seams are considered to have delaminated when the outer coating separates from the fabric base or the seam loses its
structural strength. If delamination occurs on only one seam and not on the entire boat, the seam is to be repaired under
warranty.
1-3 All other boat parts, including limited components such as oar locks, lifting handle foot pumps, boat bag, transom holder,
transom, “D” rings, stringers, “H” fittings and floor boards are covered by a one-year warranty.
2. Since this warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship, it does not apply to normal wear and tear, or
damage caused by:
a. Neglect, lack of maintenance, accident, abnormal operation or improper installation or services.
b. Use of an accessory or part not authorized by us.
c. Participating in or preparing for racing or other competitive activity.
d. Alteration or removal of parts
3. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages.
4. Customer must provide reasonable access to the product for warranty service by delivering the product for inspection to an

The Authorized Maxxon Dealer sales receipt is the only valid registration identification and must be presented at the time
warranty service is required. Warranty claims will not be accepted with presentation of the receipt of purchase.
6. Our obligations under this warranty shall be limited to repairing a defective part, or at our discretion, refunding the purchase
price or replacing such part or parts as shall be necessary to remedy any malfunction resulting from defects in material or
workmanship as covered by this warranty. We reserve the right to improve the design of any product without assuming any
obligation to modify any product previously manufactured.
