functions the MCD-5000B is not only superior to its predecessor.the high
performance MCD-5000B is capable of finding more gold than ever before. From
sub-gram nuggets to the elusive 'retirement nugget' and everything in between, with
the MCD-5000B, you can find it.In addition, The most prominent characteristics is
that the type of metal can be identified, allowing you to easily find the available metal
objects, which is the functions that other similar products are not available. You can
go to more places to start treasure-hunting activities, search for coins, jewelry, gold
and silver.Note: This instrument shall not be used for illegal activities, otherwise,
Users bear all the consequences.
Main Feature:
1.High-brightness LCD monitor can generally displays the detected metal type.Like
Non-Iron,Gold,Silver and Mixture.
2.GND Balance mode is suitable for searching all metal objects on the ground.
3.In addition to LCD panel display, it can distinguish metal type by tones.
4.With 11 inch super high detecting coil, it can improve the detecting sensitivity,
double design on the detecting coil, it’s very suitable to horizontal pushing operation
on the desert.
5.Equipped with external headphone interface, connecting headphone, easy to use,
equipped with large capacity rechargeable lithium ion batteries, with the function of
low voltage, extra equipped with charger, full of power for work more than 10 hours.

Assembly
Step :A
1. Plug the two rubber was hers in to th e holes on either side of the lower
shaft.
2. Ensure th at th e spring loaded pin of the lower shaft is po inting
do wnwar ds.Slide the lower shaft into the bra cket on the top of th e coil.
Insert the bo lt throug h th e lower shaf t and the bracket on top of the
coil.Fasten with th e nut provided;being care ful not to damage the
thread of the nut by over-tightening.This may need to be loosened to
adjust the coil to a comfortable detecting angle.
Step :B
1. With the twistlock facing away from you, rotate the twistlock of the
up per shaf t clockwise to ensure it is loosened,as pictured le ft.
2.Compres s the spring loaded pin of the lower shaft.Slide the lo we r
shaft into the upper shaft until th e pin reaches an adjustment hole. The
pin will spring ou t and clip in to place.
3.Rotate the twistlock counter-clo ckwise to clamp the lower shaf t and
pr event moveme nt.

4
Step :C
Att achi ng th e Ha ndle to the Upper Sh aft:
Slide the handle onto th e upper shaft so th at it angles awa y fro m you,as
shown below.
Att achi ng th e Armrest to th e Up per Sh aft:
1. Place th e two armr est halve s on either side of the upp er
shaft, alignin g th e armrest and upper shaft holes.
2. Insert the bolts th roug h the armr est and upper shaft hole s.
3. Loosely fasten the wing-nuts onto the bolts.
Step: D
Attaching the Armrest Straps to th e Armrest:
1. Press both strap studs onto th e armrest studs.
2. Push the armr est straps th roug h the slots in the armres t cover and
then slide th e cover over th e armrest.

5
Step: E
Connecting the Control Box to the Upper Shaft:
1.Place the detector on a flat surface, with the handle facing upwards.
2.Position the armrest on top of the control box.
3.Clip the control box onto the armrest, ensuring the battery plug faces away from the
coil.
4.Fasten with the wing-nuts.
5.Wind the Quick-Trak button cable around the upper shaft and plug it into the Smart
Point socket in the control box.Ensure that the cable is wrapped firmly but avoid
strain on the connector.
Step: F
Con nect ing the Coil Cable:
1. Wind the coil ca ble around th e lower and upper shaf ts enough times
to take up the slack.Leave enough slack at th e bo ttom of the cable near
the coil to allow th e angle of the coil to be adjuste d while detecting.
2. Use the velcro straps to secur e th e coil cable to the shaft.
3. Plug the coil conne ctor into the coil socke t on the control box.firmly
tightening the retaining ring to hold it in plac e.

6
Step: G
Connecting the Battery Pack:
1.Place the battery into the battery harness pouch.
2.Connect the headphones and the power cable to the appropriate sockets in the
battery.
Fit ting the Bat tery Harness:
1. Thread your arms throug h the harness,so the battery pack sits on
yo ur back.
2. Clip the waist and chest buck les together.

Det ecti ng Tips:
Follow these hints and te c hniques to help you to utilise the powe r of
yo u MCD Series detector,to ensur e th at every trip is a success.
Id e ntifying Tar get Si gnals
*Metallic ta rgets will usually give a “solid ” sounding signal when th e
coil is swe pt across the object from any direction.A metallic target
ge nerally produces a short,s harp and mostly symmetrical

9
signal.Ground noises usually give a broa d un even signal when the coil
is sw ep t from different directions, and often may only give a signal
from one direction and no signal on the return sweep.
*I f you are not sure if the sound is ground noise or a target sign al you
should always in vestigate.Scrape a shallow hole about 30mm deep over
the suspected target.Sweep the coil over the hole at the original ground
le vel.Do not dip the coil in to the hole.If th e signal has decreased in
vo lume or is less def ined it is probably ground noise .If the signal
remains the same.or bec omes louder,it likely a metallic ta rget.if you
are still not sure make the hole deeper and repea t th e process .
*A “halo effect ”,whic h may be built up ar ound a buried meta l
ob ject, make s th e objec t appear to be la rger to th e detector than it
actually is .This will be reduced once the target is disturbed from its
po sition in the ground(e.g.a small ob ject, dete c ted at a substantial
de pth,may be more difficult to detect once disturbed from the ground
and lying in the loose dirt.If the object is re- buried the “halo
eff ect”will not be present).
*D o not try to eliminate what might appear to be a faint, isolated
gr ound no ise by balancing th e detector over the target;you may be
“balancing out ”the target re sponse from a dee ply buried me tallic
ta rget.I t is better to Gro und Balan ce around the target, without going
across it,Then switch to Fixed and tr y Pinpointing.
*D ig all ta rget signals, eve n in pre viously detecte d areas. The MCD
Series have superior ground bala ncin g and depth so it is possible to
find new ta rgets in well-worked area s whe re other detectors have been
un able to cope with th e high degree of mineralisation an/or sa lt.
*I n some mineralised soils a response may be received from a
concentration of orange/redd ish dyke material or clay.Remember,a
me tal target will get louder by moving th e coil even centimetres closer.
*I f detecting ar eas of extreme ly variable mineralisation detec t along

10
the ground contours rather than across th em.This will often stabilise
the effect.
*I n heavily mineralised areas th e operato r may need to sweep the coil
10 -20mm above the ground. This shou ld give a more stable Threshold
and less ground noise.
*Ver y sudden or la rge changes in the mineralisa tion of an area ma y
pr oduc e a signal from th e detector.Usually this signal is very br oad and
of ten only present in one direction.
Note:The MCD Series are ‘mo tion’detectors.Th is me ans the coil must
be mo ving the target,or the target mov ing over the coil,in orde r from
th e dete ct or to ‘s ee ’ it .
