TouchtheLOADbuttonandtheLEDabovethis
buttonwillilluminate,thenafter1 secondthe
drawerwillopen.Ifthedrawerisobstructed,itwill
notcontinuetoopen.Shouldthishappenremove
theobstruction,touchLOADtwiceinsuccessionto
bringthedrawerfullyout.
Holdthediscattherimandplaceit,labelsideup,
inthediscdrawer.
ClosethedrawerbytouchingPLAY,SCANor
LOAD.UsePLAYifyouwanttoplaythecomplete
disc,SCANifyoufirstwanttoprevieweachtrackon
thediscorstoretracksfromit,andLOADifyou
wanttoprogramthedisc.Ineachcase,thedrawer
slidesinwhenthebuttonistouched.Ifthedraweris
obstructedasitcloses,thedrawerwillcomeout
againafterabout3 seconds.
UsingLOADtoclosethedrawer,permitsthelaser
pentoreadthecontentslistandthendisplaythe
numberoftracksandthetotaltimeencodedonthe
disc.Afterreadingthecontentslist,theMCD7007
switchestostand-bymodereadyforfurther
instructions.
TheDAMAGEDDISC/MUTEindicatorremains
lighteduntilplaybegins.Ifthelightremainsonand
thediscrefusestoplay,makesurethatthediscis
properlyinthedrawerandlabelsideisup.
Toclosethedrawerwhenitisemptytouchthe
LOADbutton.TheDAMAGEDDISC/MUTEsignwill
light.Topreventtheentryofdust,donotleavethe
draweropen.
Openingthedrawerduringplay,willstopthedisc.
PLAY-3.
Toplaythecompletedisc,closethedrawerby
touchingPLAY.Afterthecontentslistonthedischas
beenread,thenumberoftracksonthediscwillbe
displayedonthetrackindicator.Whenplaybegins,
elapseplayingtimeisdisplayedandtheeLAPsed
indicatorlights.
Togobacktothebeginningofa trackwhileitis
playing,touchPLAY.Thetrackisthenrepeatedfrom
thebeginning.Whenallthetrackshavebeenplayed,
thetrackindicator,thetotalelapsedtimeandthe
DAMAGEDDISC/MUTEindicatorwilllight.All
indicatorsexceptthevolumedisplayturnoff.
VOLUME-4.
VolumemaybeadjustedbyusingtheVOLUME
orVOLUMEonthefrontpanelorontheremote
control.Adjustmentofthevolumeisperformedby
anelectronicallyswitchedprecisionladder
attenuator.
TheMclntoshelectronicprecisionladder
attenuatoradjustsvolumebyC2MOStransistor
switchesthatselecttherightcombinationsofhighly
accuratedepositsofresistivematerialforthevolume
programmed.
Theentirerangeofvolumeadjustmentis66dBin
2dBincrements.Leftandrighttrackingiscontrolled
toa fractionofa dB.Becausetherearen'tany
movingparts,thevolumeadjustmentcannot
generatenoiseormisalignment.
TheVOLUMEindicatorinthemessagecenterisa
10segmentdisplay.Asvolumeisincreased,more
segmentsarelightedtoindicaterelativevolume.
SCAN-16.
Thefirst10secondsofeachtrackwillbeplayed
whentheSCANbuttonisusedtoinitiateplay. As
eachtrackispreviewedtheSCANindicator,the
TRACKnumberandtheeLAPsedTIMEisdisplayed.
Whenthetrackshavebeenpreviewed,theSCAN
indicatorturnsoff,thelaserpick-upreturnstothe
beginningofthefirsttrack.Thetotalnumberof
tracksandthetotaltimewillbedisplayedinthe
messagecenter.
If,beforeyouhavepreviewedalltracks,you
decidetolistentoalloftheremainingtracksonthe
disc,touchPLAY.TheSCANindicatorwillgooffand
theremainingtrackswillplayintheirentirety,
beginningwiththetrackindicatedinthemessage
center.
Anytrackcanbeenteredinthememoryforlater
playingwhileusingSCAN.Toentera track,touch
STOREwhilethetrackisplayingandtheTRACKwill
beinsertedinthememory.Theplayerwillpreview
thenexttrackandtheindicatorforthattrackwillbe
displayed.
Whenalltrackshavebeenpreviewed,SCANwill
gooff.Tolistentothestoredprogram,touchPLAY
Andthediscwillplaythestoredtracksinthe
sequenceselected.
