PharmaClik POS ONE
Self-Installation Guide
Congratulations on your purchase of PharmaClik POS ONE!
Your system is pre-configured and PharmaClik POS is pre-installed so that installation is as simple as
possible.
This install should take approximately one hour to complete and may need two people to unpack.
Note: We highly recommend the system be set up four to seven (4-7) days before going live to allow the
self-training to take place on the system itself.
Before You Begin
Be sure you have read the PharmaClik POS ONE Planning Guide and prepared your
environment before unpacking the boxes (power, network, counters).
Network Connection
McKesson provides a virtual private network (VPN) service which connects you to our secure network. If
you are using this, follow the Network Setup Instructions below.
If you did not order this service then plug the switch into your existing internet network.
**All instructions are related to the PTS provided equipment.

Rear View of the Till Computer (Reference for Till Setup)
PharmaClik POS ONE Till Installation and Setup Instructions
Section 1 Unpack Cash Drawer (Box 1) and place in prepared location.
Section 2 Unpack the Till Computer (Box 2)
a) Place the Till computer into its location (preferably under the counter
and out of the way).
b) Plug in the power cord into the Till computer and leave other end
unplugged for now.
c) Connect the keyboard and mouse to the back of the Till computer.
d) Connect the Till computer to the network switch using a Cat5 network
cable and insert one end into any port on the switch or to the wall
jack.
Section 3 Unpack the Receipt printer (Box 3)
a) Connect the cash drawer to the Receipt printer using the cable shown.
It should already be connected to the cash drawer.
b) Connect one end of the serial cable to COM1 port on the Till computer
and the other end to the Receipt printer. Hand-tighten screws.
c) Press the light grey button on the top right of the printer to open the
cover and install the receipt paper (see video for details).
d) Plug in the power cable to the printer. Leave the other end unplugged
for now.

Section 4 Unpack the Monitor (Box 4)
a) Connect the monitor arm to the stand.
b) Connect the montior to the arm and press until a ‘click’ is heard.
c) Slide the cover in place on the back of the monitor.
d) Connect one end of the VGA cable to the monitor.
e) Plug in the power cable to the monitor. Leave the other end
unplugged for now.
f) Move the monitor into its location.
g) Connect the VGA cable to the back of the Till computer.
Section 5 Unpack the Barcode Scanner (Box 5)
a) Remove the wing nut from the bottom of the scanner stand arm.
b) Holding the base, insert the scanner stand arm into the base and turn
until it click into place.
c) Continue to hold while screwing in the wing nut to the bottom of the
stand.
d) Place the stand in the proper location.
e) Place the scanner into the stand (take care not to drop it).
f) Connect the barcode scanner to the computer using the USB scanner
cable.
Section 6 OPTIONAL: Install Debit/Credit machine
a) Plug the unit into an available USB port on the Till computer.
b) If your device came with a security stand, install it following the stand
instructions and secure the Credit/Debit device to the stand.
Section 7 OPTIONAL: Install the Laser Report Printer
a) Unpack the box.
b) Connect the printer to the Till computer using the Cat 5 cable.
Section 7 Unpack the UPS Battery Backup (Box 6)
NOTE: Ensure this unit IS NOT PLUGGED into a power source
until the end of the entire setup.
a) Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the unit.
b) Remove the STOP yellow sticker from the unit.
c) Partially expose the battery, but don’t remove completely.
d) Connect the red cable inside the box to the battery.
e) Slide the battery back into the UPS and replace the battery cover.

Section 8 Connect all Equipment to the UPS Battery Backup
a) Connect the power cables for the following to the BATTERY BACKUP section of the UPS and
NOT the Surge Only section (marked on the back of the UPS box):
•Till Computer
•Monitor
•Receipt printer
b) If purchased, connect the laser Report printer to the SURGE ONLY section of the UPS box
c) Connect the power cable from the UPS Battery Backup to the power source.
Section 9 Power On All Equipment and Validate Your Internet Connection
a) Turn the power on for the receipt printer (and laser printer if using), monitor and Till computer.
b) Once the CTRL+ALT+DEL prompt appear, press those keys together.
c) Log on using these credentials:
•User name = STORE
•Password = STORE
d) If prompted to join a network, i.e., public or work or home, select “work”.
a) Verify that the internet is working by launching Internet Explorer and navigating to a safe site,
for example, www.pharmacytechnologysolutions.ca.
b) If you cannot connect to the internet please verify each step and check cables before calling PTS.
c) If all equipment is installed, the hardware has been successfully tested, and the network is online,
please call the PTS technician that has been scheduled to validate and activate your system.
a) Remove keys attached to cash drawer and store in a safe place as they are needed for manual
opening of the drawer.
