reserves the right to make changes to its products without
prior notice. □All that is not explicitly indicated in this manual
is to be considered not allowed.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Before commencing operator installation assess the suitability
of the access, its general condition and the structure. □Make
sure that there is no risk of impact, crushing, shearing,
conveying, cutting, entangling and lifting situations, which
may prejudice people safety. □Do not install near any source of
heat and avoid contacts with ammable substances. □Keep all
the accessories able to turn on the operator (transmitters,
proximity readers, key-switches, etc) out of the reach of the
children. □Transit through the access only with stationary
operator. □Do not allow children and/or people to stand in the
proximity of a working operator. □To ensure safety in the
whole movement area of a gate it is advisable to install
photocells, sensitive edges, magnetic loops and detectors. □
Use yellow-black strips or proper signals to identify dangerous
spots. □Before cleaning and maintenance operations,
disconnect the appliance from the mains by switching o the
master switch. □If removing the actuator, do not cut the
electric wires, but disconnect them from the terminal box by
loosening the screws inside the junction box.
INSTALLATION
All installation operations must be performed by a qualied
technician, in observance of the Machinery Directive
2006/42/CE and safety regulations EN 12453 - EN 12445. □

measuring the crushing and impact force of the main opening
and closing edge in compliance with EN 12445. □Identify the
appropriate solution necessary to eliminate and reduce such
risks. □In case where the gate to automate is equipped with a
pedestrian entrance, it is appropriate to prepare the system in
such a way to prohibit the operation of the engine when the
pedestrian entrance is used. □Apply safety nameplates with CE
marking on the gate warning about the presence of an
automated installation. □The installer must inform and instruct
the end user about the proper use of the system by releasing
him a technical dossier, including: layout and components of
the installation, risk analysis, verication of safety accessories,
verication of impact forces and reporting of residual risks.
INFORMATION FOR END-USERS
The end-user is required to read carefully and to receive
information concerning only the operation of the installation
so that he becomes himself responsible for the correct use of it.
□The end-user shall establish a written maintenance contract
with the installer/maintenance technician (on -call). □Any
maintenance operation must be done by qualied technicians.
□Keep these instructions carefully.
WARNINGS FOR THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE
INSTALLATION
For optimum performance of system over time according to
safety regulations, it is necessary to perform proper
maintenance and monitoring of the entire installation: the
automation, the electronic equipment and the cables
connected to these. □The entire installation must be carried

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT
Aproli 480 is an oil-hydraulic operator designed for on-the-door mounting and studied for opening and closing counterbalanced
tilt-up doors on residential applications.
It is compact and being oil-hydraulic it has all the advantages that such technology can ensure ie. reliability, smooth movements,
adjustable thrust power by pressure valves. Therefore it can meet any installation requirements.
The operator can be xed to the door by a specially designed bracket made of galvanized steel along with tting accessories, galvanized
as well. Two types of hardware options are possible with Aproli 480 , either a welding type or a type where no welding is required,
which is made possible by components to be assembled together.
The rotation shaft is made of hardened steel to ensure long lasting performance.
The operator is double locking type, able to lock the door by the hydraulic system in both open and closed positions.
For the Aproli 480 system to be electrically operated, it is required that an electronic control board type Elpro 6 exp be connected to
it and located in a sheltered place, allowing for all the pre-set operations be performed either in outomatic or semiautomatic modes.
Aproli 480 is designed to take a number of complementary accessories ensuring safety and proper operations in order to turn this
product into a most versatile unit, able to meet any site requirements.
A cover is available on request, made of anodized aluminium and tted with a courtesy lamp which stays on alight for a timed period
after the door is closed.
A lever-operated override system is incorporated for hand operations of the door in case of a black-out.

INSTALLATION BY HARDWARE WELDING TYPE
Before installing Aproli 480 make sure the door is adequate to be electrically operated.
If necessary reinforce the door by welding or bolting to
it a metal plate of 100 mm, 5/6 mm of thickness, allowing
for Aproli 480 xing bracket to have a stronger support
during door operations.
The bracket for the installation of Aproli 480 is to be xed in the middle of the door.

IMPORTANT: before proceeding with the installation, make sure the door can be smoothly open and closed by
hand, without any friction points.
IMPORTANT: consider that Aproli 480 and the hardware require extra counterweight to compensate the additional
weight, so that the door once automated and released for manual operations, be well balanced and able to stay
still in any position.
IMPORTANT: depending on the space, being more or less sucient, that can be available between
the system arms to be installed for automatic operations and the existing ones of the door, the
bracket is required to be mounted following the distances indicated in Pic. 6 (with the linear
arms) or in Pic. 7 (with the curved arms).

Mount Aproli 480 on to the bracket and x it by the 8 screws provided with the equipment
Proceed now to weld the tubular bar to the telescopic arms, with the door in closed position. To ensure that Aproli 480 can exert a
proper hydraulic force on to the door, note the following: the operator is factory preset for mounting a door in closed position;
rotate the operator shaft by approx. 5° degrees clockwise. The door will so get a constant pushing action to stay securely closed.
English
IMPORTANT: once Aproli 480 has been installed and in consideration of the weight of the torsion
bars, it is advised that the existing counterbalance be increased to compensate any extra load and
provide the door with proper balance since the early stage of the installation.

INSTALLATION USING THE NON WELDING TYPE OF HARDWARE
This type of metallic hardware, non welding, is supplied on request: for the installation follow the same instructions as per the
welding type hardware.
RELEASING FOR MANUAL OPERATIONS AND FIRST OPEN AND CLOSE TEST
Once completed all the installation steps and APROLI 480 is tted correctly onto the door, assess that the movements are performed
in a very smooth way without any friction. First make sure that Aproli 480 be released for the rst manual test and be well balanced.
Add extra counterbalance if necessary. The door must be able to stay balanced in any position it is stopped.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE MOTOR
Remove the terminal board cover to access power supply terminals.
Cut out the cover as indicated to allow the gland of the power supply cable to pass through.
With Aproli 480 tted with courtesy lamp, power supply terminals are positioned at the back.
ADJUSTING THRUST POWER
Aproli 480 is tted with screws to control the pressure valves ie. the thrust power to open and close the door.
If the door has been properly balanced as explained before, no power adjustment is required.
