Intended usage
Baselight 420X is a mobile lighing equipment intended for temporary illuminaion where high lumen output in
combinaion with low weight and minimal power consumpion is required. Baselight is designed to protect the
operator as much as possible and all important safety funcions are in red color. It is however an requirement
that the operator understand the limitaions of this equipment by reading this manual.
Cauion
· Never cover the armature when switched on.
· Deploy the legs and secure their locking before the armature and mast is raised.
· Never switch on power before armature is outside the transport box.
· Make sure that Baselight is properly secured to the ground.
· Make sure that Baselight stands level on ground before the mast is raised.
· Make sure that Baselight is secured to the ground on slippery surfaces (snow, mud etc).
· Never try to adjust the leg angle when the mast is raised.
· Never use high pressure water to clean/rinse Baselight. Use garden hose pressure only.
· Always use electrical connecions with protecive earth and ground fault switch.
· Never try to open electrical juncion boxes. Dangerous voltage inside!
· Never hold out the red locking handles when raising the mast.
· Never use chemical substances to clean Baselight.
· Never put any extra weight/equipment on mast or armature.
· Never lit the armature by grabbing the armature itself. Always lit by mast.
· Make sure each secion locks (click sound) when raising mast.
· Never drop the mast onto lock bellow. Slide downwards gently.
· The light source in this product is based on light eming diodes (LED). Avoid looking into the light source
as this may afect your eyesight.

LEG OPERATION 1
Baselight have three support legs that can be individually adjusted to compensate for uneven terrain.
The goal for the operator is to ensure that Baselight transport box always stand straight (level) before
rising the mast.
Furthermore the operator must ensure that Baselight transport box can not slide on the ground and
possible use the anchorage holes in the legs surface shoe.
1 Locking slot
2 Locking clamp
3 Locking lever
CAUTION! Never try to adjust leg angels ater the mast is extended.
Always lower the mast before making adjustments.
The leg adjustment mechanism contains three parts:

7
How to unsecure legs before lowering transport box
Always make sure that Baselight armature is stoved inside the transport box
before proceeding with this step!
Release the locking lever by bringing it to the down posiion on all three legs.
The self locking mechanism is now deacivated and Baselight transport box
can be raised from the ground a few cenimetres *) and the locking clamps
will now leave the clamp wholes. It is now possible to lower the transport
box to the ground.
Picture shows locking lever in unlocked posiion (lever down).
*) Ergonomic ip! Stand close to Baselight and lit with bended knees and
straight back.
How to secure legs before rising transport box
When the locking lever is in its top posiion the self locking mecha-
nism is engaged. Baselight will now self lock when transport box is
raised. The operator must determine if Baselight transport box is
standing straight (level) ater being raised from ground.
There are two main reasons for further adjustments:
A) When raised Baselight transport box did not self lock in a level
posiion due to the fact that it was not raised straight.
B) The terrain is uneven such as a slope or bump and that needs to
be compensated for.

MAST OPERATION 1
TO EXTEND THE MAST
Make sure that the support legs have been
extended and locked and that the transport
box is raised from ground and in a level posi-
ion. See chapter ”Leg operaion”.
1. When raising a mast secion place one
hand on the telescopic pole and the
other hand on the lock bellow to hold
it in place while ling the secion
above. (picture A)
2. Start by rising the armature out of
the transport box (picture B) and then
raise it up unil the lock engages with
a click sound. Make sure it is locked
by moving the secion up and down
before releasing grip. Failure to do so
could cause the secion to fall down
and damage the lock bellow.
3. Now it is ime to chose a conigura-
ion of light. See chapter ”Light con-
iguraion” before proceeding with
step 4.
4. When light coniguraion is done con-
inue to raise the next mast secion
under unil desired height have been
achieved or mast is fully extended.
CAUTION! Baselight contains a self locking telescopic mast. To
avoid personal injury or damage to Baselight these procedures
must be followed!

9
TO LOWER THE MAST
1. Always start by lowering the
botom secion irst and then
the one above (and so on).
2. Place one hand around the lock
and use the index inger to pull
on the red grip while the other
hand grips around the mast
secion and lit it upwards a few
millimetres. This will disengage
the safety mechanism and
make downwards movement of
the secion possible.
3. Keep the grip around the mast
secion (right hand in picture)
and let it slide downwards
slowly. Apply breaking if neces-
sary. The secion should never
be allowed to drop onto the
next secion which could dam-
age to the locking mechanism.
4. Before the last (upper most and
thinnest pipe) secion is low-
ered the operator must conig-
ure the armature for stoving
(see armature)
CAUTION! Baselight contains a self locking telescopic mast. To avoid
personal injury or damage to Baselight these procedures must be fol-
lowed!
Please note
Diferent weather condiion could afect the operators possibility to get good fricion
when breaking the downward movement. If such condiion should exist it is recom-
mended to suspend mast operaions unil the condiion is more favourable. Always
inspect the fricion condiion before operaing the mast.
MAST OPERATION 2

10
ARMATURE CONFIGURATION 1
When the upper most secion of the telescopic mast is raised (see chapter: MAST OPERATION 1) out of the transport
box it is ime to select which armature coniguraion to use.
360 Degree coniguraions
This type of coniguraion provides light in all direcion (360 degree).
When used in a ilted mode make sure that the fricion lock engages. The operator folds out the panels unil they
reach a stopping posiion.
180 Degree coniguraions
This type of coniguraion provides concentrated light in one direcion (180 degree). See next page for coniguraion
instrucions.
Mixed coniguraion
As the name implies this is a mix of ilted and straight armatures.

11
Open the snap lock on the armature base and lit the let part
of the armature slightly over the slide base.
Push gently with both hands on each side of the armature unil
it lock into posiion. Check that it has locked by trying to close
the armature. Apply slightly more pressure if the locks have not
engaged.
To restore the armature to 360 coniguraion before stoving
you must lit the locks on each armature by pushing them up-
wards. It is a good pracice to start with one side at a ime (let
or right) and work from the inner lock outwards. The let side
of the armature needs to be gently lited above the slide base
to be closed properly.
Atenion! Make sure no cables are pinched when doing this.

MAINTENANCE
Baselight is designed for minimal maintenance and use in remote locaions. It is a key feature of the prod-
uct to require litle or no maintenance.
The recommended maintenance is as follows:
Before every usage the operator must:
Check electrical wires for damage.
This relates to:
-Main power cable & plug
-Extension cable & plug
-Armature cables
-Spiral cable
Any damaged found on these items require immediate service. Do not proceed with operaions unil fault is
removed.
Every year:
Lubricaion of the telescopic mast.
Each year the inside of the mast secions should be lubricated with silicon spray. This is a simple procedure
that involves the following steps:
1. Lit each mast secion (one at a ime) while holding out the red lock unil part of the mast locking
hole is visible above the lock itself.
2. Spray silicon inside for about 3 seconds.
3. Release red lock and slide mast secion down.
4. Repeat procedure for every mast secion.
